Why would they reference Saint Margaret if she died during childbirth and her baby also died? Im sure she prayed day and night to Saint Margaret for safe childbirth still she died. I dont understand?

The portrait could have been made during her second tragic pregnancy, while they all hoped everything would be fine, just like after her first birth, and then the finishing touches of the portrait could have been added after her&her second child's death.

Saint Margaret by her portrait was a very beautiful lady herself. Early renassaince (sorry, spelling) had such beautiful art. Ive always been fascinated w history, love Italian history, but never heard of this lady and her story. It seemed that more often women died in/frm chilbirth that didnt. Im sure ladies thru-out older times all felt some level of fear when realizing they would be soon going thru it. Even strong women bearing several children easily could suddenly have a horribly hard birth that resulted in tragedy! 😢 Bless them all.
