GARAGE DARTS | WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT
Garage darts has one goal: To introduce darts to the masses! It seems like darts, especially in America, is often misunderstood and relatively obscure. Our hope is to change that, with videos that cover all aspects of the game. Once you give this game a try, I think you will agree, it quickly becomes an addiction! (but a good one!)

Переглядів 14 тис.6 місяців тому
The most asked question Cali gets at tournaments is what are your practice routines. While she doesn't go into her own routine too much, she does give a few games to try out in your practice room, especially if you are new to darts. Starting off with a super difficult practice routine is probably only going to get you frustrated and discouraged... which is the last thing she wants!!! This is wh...

What do you think about magnetic dartboards for beginners who live in apartments? Are they worthwhile?
@@hgaming7699 hmm, the only benefit there may be to just work on your form...but I have another suggestion- what if you got a plastic tip board? They have some inexpensive ones, that shouldn't mess up your walls too bad. Other options are to get a free standing dartboard. You can buy the stand separately from the board.
I love cricket! Both types, darts and the game with the bat and ball. Coming in to the Australian summer so cricket season has kicked off here.
My garage is a hot mess too except for a narrow path in front of my board!
@@shaunneal9981 glad I'm not the only one!! 😁
I completely agree keeping a record of your practice. I have found there are a number of dart apps, both free and paid, that make this so much easier. Years ago I used to have my laptop with an Excel spreadsheet recording my practice numbers but now the app makes it so much easier. There's nothing better than seeing your improvement to motivate you further.
UA-cam recommended me your channel and it makes me want to dust off my dart board and play some darts after about 10 years of pause. Thank you for these vids! :D
@@Kurdtiss ❤❤ this!!! Welcome back to the game 😁😉 thanks for the feedback!
Love this..we dwell so much on th doubles but Def trying out th single numbers aswell
Hello 👋 what is the highest score game you have played in or seen?
The highest game i have ever played in was about 1300 points for each player!! Long game!!!
Love this content, I will certainly look to add these to my routine
Thank you!
The oche or toe line is 7'9.25" from the face of the board (not the wall) and the board should measure 5'8" from the bullseye to the floor. Funny you should ask! Next video I will walk you through setting up your board at home!
How far from the dartboard do I stand?
Why did Will cry...lol g😅good stuff strategy wise
Excellent advice on the frustration factor, so easy to ruin progress getting tied in knots when things just don’t happen.
Thanks for the comment. Its definitely a trap many of us fall into! Results only come with patience
I'm a newbie and I love your videos! You make it very easy to understand using visuals. Thank you!
Thank you. Very well explained....
Thankyou for all your videos, they are a great help ❤
too much theories
Huh?
Please how many total legs are there in dart game
@@amookehinde99 that is up to the tournament or league you are playing. Usually best of 3 at league level. Many tournaments are doing best of 5, with it being best of 7 or 9 if you make it to semis or finals. I play one league that is best of 15 legs and another that plays all 15 legs. So it definitely varies!!! If u are just starting out, try a best of 3 format 😉
I think limiting yourself to a certain amount of darts is a good idea because i end up throwing 30 darts at double 1 and get frustrated
@@nominox1158 my point exactly!! Getting frustrated will only lead to bad habits, that won't help improve your throw in the long run! Thanks for the comment!!
@@GarageDartsI agree as well, and I'm sure if you're throwing at that double in a game, there's a little niggle of doubt as you recall those 30 missed darts when you were practising.

Fundamentals is always the key. I'm relatively new to the game and had to take a pause because of an injury. It's always important to stick with the fundamentals and that's what I plan on doing thank you so much I'm subscribing and look forward to more videos from you.
The animations are great 👍
Thanks! Not bad for a dart player huh? 😉
Starting at target #20 is a strategy for those that can hit the intended target. For the basic beginners that don't want to add any math to it: you can eliminate the point system and just play cricket to close out the numbers 20 thru 15. Another basic beginner strategy is to aim for the bullseye and collect any close outs in your attempts to the bullseye. It also helps your aim and focus on a singular point. Always a good idea to use good darts and stick to what works for you. Some cheap darts are so bad that they mess up your ability to be consistent with each throw. With all that said... there is no need to buy expensive products just to play a game of darts for fun.
Good video for us beginners!
Thank you Cali for sharing your knowledge and skills.
I have tried it today ... and sucked! But thanks anyway!
😂 hey we all start somewhere! Just means lots of room for improvement! Hang in there and keep working at it! ❤❤ Thanks for the comment
now i know how to play! had a test game against the target app bot :) pretty fun and good for aiming practice
Great video! Thanks for posting!😊
I have a question. What if my opponent has more points but I hit all of the numbers 3 times first?
You would have to gain points on numbers your opponent hasnt closed yet. If you get more points than your opponent (before they close all the numbers) then you win. The winner has to have the point lead, as well as all numbers closed. Hope that clears up any confusion. Thanks for your question!
love this! thanks
this is the 5th video i watched and its the only one that i understand lol
Haha!! Awesome!!! So glad it made sense for you!!
Can one close all triple points and still lose on points?
Do you mean - if you close each number, can you lose on points? Yes. So if you had all numbers closed, but were down on points, then your opponent would just need to close everything to win. However, you could score points on numbers they don't have closed, to get the points you need to have the higher total. I hope this makes sense!!
Can’t wait to play this with the family, even though I’m not the sharpest tool in the box, your video made it very easy to understand, many thanks
Don't want to sound pedantic, but it's TREBLE not Triple!!
No it's not
You sound pedantic.
Nice. We play a simple version with no points. just first person to max out 3 for each number.
Brilliant tutorial, enjoyed and subscribed thank you 😊
Cricket hasn't really caught on here in the UK but I've just started getting into it now. It makes a change from the standard 501 darts. Thanks this was a great video! Greetings from North Wales, UK 👍🙂
Thanks for the comment! Always interesting to see how far away my videos are getting viewed! Glad u liked the vid!!!
Probably the very best guide out there to understand cricket. But just to clarify, say Phil Taylor plays cricket and scores T20, T19, T18 on his first 3 throws... does that lock out the opponent from scoring on those numbers forcing them to throw at 17 or 16? And if they do that, Phil would simply have a run at 20s for a long as he wants until his opponent tries to close it out?
Yes, the opponent would have to get as many 17s as possible and hope Phil has a miss here or there that he can capitalize on and get back into the game. Whether its cricket or 01, there is not much you can do if your opponent throws perfect darts!! Right? Thanks for the comment, and thank you for the thumbs up! 😁
what score do get if you hit outside the double? does that count for anything?
Like above the board basically? It's always 0. If you hit a single then it's of course the single number.
It counts as "no score" or zero points.
I may have missed it. But let’s say you have X on 20. Then your next throw is a double 20. Is that a circle + 20 or just a circle?
This depends on what your opponent has. If your opponent hasn’t closed the 20's yet, then the double would count as 2 20's - one for the circle and 20 points for the second. However, if your opponent has 3 20's already, then only one would count, to close the number. Now, any dart that hits a 20 for the remainder of this game does not count for either player. I think I will do another cricket video, to explain this scenerio better, since many people have similar confusion! Thanks for the question!
@@GarageDarts thanks. Makes sense. Appreciate the response
this was a great explanaition, better than the one i watched before where i was still a little confused
Thanks!! So glad it helped!!
I love how wholesome this is. I'm an animator. If you need any other work, feel free to reach out.
Thanks. I obviously am a much better dart player than animator! Lol! I do really enjoy the process of animation. Fun outlet for me! I appreciate your offer tho. ❤
@@GarageDarts Animation is a lot of fun. I really like the look and style of your videos. It works perfectly. Also your delivery and approach to teaching makes it very easy to learn.
I play darts but we just keep it simple. We don't do all the math. We have a hard enough time just trying to close our circles. 😂😅🤷🏿♂️
Lol. You know there is an app that adds it all for you, if you're interested. It's called dartconnect. Great user friendly app. Might be worth checking out!
Waterfall: Every player starts the game by hitting any triple. Once a triple is hit, the player can move on to 20's. Until three 20's are hit, no other numbers count, this is a must go in order game. When the player has at least 3 20's, they move on to 19. If you hit a triple or double of the number you are trying to close, and that results in having more than 3 marks, the additional marks "waterfall" down to the next number. Example: Starting with 2 20's, then hitting a triple 20, would close your 20, and give you two marks on the 19. Play in this fashion until you have 3 marks through the bullseye, and then finish the game by hitting any double. A double bull when you already have 2 bulls ends the game. The "extra" bull waterfalls down and counts as your double. The order of targets goes: Any triple once, then three each of 20-19-18-17-16-15-Bull, and then any double once. Any additional hits after having at least 3 marks of a number do not count towards the next target. Easier mode: Remove the triple and double requirements. Harder mode: Players are required to call specific triple and double targets. Fast scoring method: Since target areas must be played in order, you only need to chalk where you ended up every round. Example: Your first round you hit a triple section, a single 20, and finish with a triple 20; Instead of writing a slash on your triple, a circle for 20's, and a slash on 19, you can just write the slash on 19. Cork for playing order, first player to complete hitting the 23 marks wins. The rest of layers may continue to play for 2nd place, 3rd place, etc if you would like.
48, shooting at the 8/16 wire was the first one I learned. I plan a few outs based on misses that leave 48
Amazing!!!😍
Looks great! Love it ❤
You are a great Dart thrower. I envy you because I now realize just how difficult and intense this game is. I've been getting my but butt kicked by experienced players and it's humiliating. I won't give up, I'll practice until I can beat them
