    You have young and dumb kids with a six figure salary at the least for active roster players can be pretty volatile. It all really needs to start high school into college, especially with the NIL deals. Coaches, parents, and mentors need to hammer it in these kids heads that it's easier to spend money, than earn it. So you have to be smart with it.

    the only pick here that really caught me off guard was young over fields, i don’t think young has the rushing ability fields offers, Fields faced the highest 48.8 under pressure dropback rate, he faced the tough situation more than any other QB last year, which is extremely important information as we take in the rest of his stats. On the other hand Out of 431 qualified QB seasons since 2011, Bryce Young is currently 431st in Yards/Dropback. Young is having a statistically worse season than Josh Rosen who was dumped after the season, and led the Cardinals to Kyler Murray. No QB below 300 has ever played out their rookie deal. Didn’t want to type a book but also wasn’t going to ask you to explain if I myself gave no context on why I feel it should be the other way around! Love the content either way brotha, keep at it!

      Appreciate your comment! 😎 Young looked awful but ultimately I do think Fields has been one of the worst QBs in the league over the past few years and that was more of a sampling thing. The fact that Fields has such an amazing athletic profile yet is still horrible at playing QB is really sad. Fields is a bottom 5 processor in the league. DJM and Kmet are also better than anyone Young will have to throw to

Being able to absolutely kill rookies, being able to get a great defense on the field with any peice, and the masterclasses we saw in the Superbowls. I was kind of surprised how high I put Jared Goff on my list, I have him in my top 5, only one spot ahead of Stafford. The way I went into this is who do I want to lead a team in a high pressure situation. One of those guys I just don't trust is Kirk, I have him way down at 21. Maybe I need to watch more film of him, I just find him so bland as a QB, I feel like you can put any average QB in Minnesota and they make some great plays. I also put all the rookies but Caleb in the bottom until I actually see them play in the NFL. Plus in a completely biased move, I put baker at 11.

    ESPN HAS adapted to the “modern era”. It’s just the modern era doesn’t lend itself to 24 hour sports networks. You highlighted some YT shows that you like; well they aren’t live-streaming literally EVERY second of EVERY day a game isn’t on, are they? If ESPN just produced a single one hour show a day, I’m guessing they could make something much better. But of course they’d have to air it on a loop to fill out all the time slots, and people would make content criticizing ESPN for being repetitive. And I say this as someone that hasn’t watched ESPN non-live content since I finished college. In 2012.

    • @Kodiakk
      @Kodiakk 17 днів тому

      No but at the same time, not every minute where sports aren’t on needs to be filled with guys who yell and scream at eachother

    • @Onlinerando
      @Onlinerando 17 днів тому

      @@Kodiakkwell, it kinda does. Sports content essentially falls into 3 categories: breaking news, highlights, and takes. You can think of it as a parallel to journalism, where there is breaking news, pictures/videos, and editorials. Breaking news is kind of dead with smartphones being ubiquitous. Ditto for highlights. That kills your sports-specific shows that made up a big chunk of non-sportscenter content. So you’re left with takes. Whether it’s two or more guys yelling at each other, one guy yelling at the screen, or one guy waxing poetic, they are all just talking heads giving takes. None of those formats would get me to tune into ESPN or FSN. But I could see why ESPN and FSN would believe that the format that would get the most eyeballs would be multiple people yelling at each other. I think, for better or worse, ESPN’s focus is on creating a standalone ESPN app with the ESPN channels and ESPN+ content all in one. That will significantly reduce their need for filler content. In the meantime they will treat on air talent as disposable because hardly any of them actually “move the needle”. It is what it is.

    Well lbh if you start with “I don’t like what they are building program wise” we KNOW you’ll look through a lens of wanting your feeling to land off jump.. Now when we are talking about XL is Mingo well your just wrong.. XL is a MUCH better player, has a better build, faster, bigger, jumps higher and can run routes just needs polish.. X is already a vertical threat and catcher that Mingo just never could be or has shown possibility of tbh.. Beyond that, the fact you said “Draft Ladd and Keon” over him for a team that has TWO ladds in DJ and Adam already.. Or Keon who by comparison of player build and ability actually I’d say would be closer to Mingo (Big not too fast trying to just high point the ball) than X.. Is by all accounts makes your judgement seem… Suspicious, to say the least.. XL may not be the right pick for another team but for Carolina this kid WILL be a star.. While DJ will no doubt be the 1, expect Bryce to go to XL when he’s trying to get downfield the most..

    • @Kodiakk
      @Kodiakk 27 днів тому

      I’m glad your outlook on XL as a better player more optimistic than mine. But the reality is, guys like Diontae/Thielen schematically shouldn’t have changed the Panthers draft strategy. Those guys are both older WRs and while I have Diontae as easily the best WR in this room, a guy like Ladd would’ve been a better pick because of his ability to play real WR. Keon was also criminally misused by his FSU staff and shows he has upside that was virtually nonexistent for Mingo as a prospect.

    • @ktdagoat1289
      @ktdagoat1289 27 днів тому

      @@Kodiakk Adam’s going to probably retire a Panther tbh.. DJ will probably get a good deal with us.. X is a better pick than Ladd cause while ladds a better route runner, they run the EXACT same 40 time.. Mind you X is THIRTY SEVEN lbs bigger, and a smig taller than Ladd.. While I think Ladd will start as a better route runner, XL WILL take contact and keep going, play bully ball, and just do things Ladd would ever be able to cause of the 40 lbs difference but same 40 time.. And that’s what a real 1WR should do that Ladd will struggle with more than X imo.. As for Keon I see him as another Kelvin Benjamin.. Like I just don’t think he has that “dog” in him.. I think he shined a lot based of him being tall with a decent vert.. In all honesty I think the BIGGER thing everyone’s missing with the Panthers is who will be their 4th receiver and I SWEAR.. I think it will be a undrafted kid by the name of Jalen Coker.. And he’ll have impact like someone who was picked up in the 3rd round.. I’ve really liked what Carolina done this offseason from Dan and Dave, to tepp sitting tf down and out the way more, and ESPECIALLY the free agency moves and Draft picks.. Not being a super fan but I’ve seen the schedule and I believe 8 wins are possible and even a sneaky 10 or 11.. As they get 2 good teams coming out of prime time games into them fully rested, and if they could beat them or even just one and I think that momentum could just spark a extra win or two..

    I agree. The point of the draft is to help bad teams get better. A team that finishes 11th should have no shot at the number 1 pick. If the NHL wants to keep the the lottery to prevent tanking, they should go back to where 1 team moves up three spots and everyone else moves back one. It isn't hard. The NHL keeps it the way it is now because it is "exciting". The purpose of the draft is to help bad teams, not add excitement.

    hawks were the 3rd worse team in the nhl that year they weren't thrown a bone it wasn't like they were the middle of the road team honestly if your going to make an example of the lottery being bs use the 2007 nhl draft lottery as a better example where the hawks a young team having almost all the pieces for a future cup run a team might I add who already gotten lucky with Jonathan Toews in the draft gets gifted the number 1 PATRICK KANE with only the 6th best odds at 7.5% where as in the Bedard lottery they had 11.5%. Now note I do agree with majority of the things you said in this video I just wanted to point that out real quick

    XL route running isn’t raw, he needs work on comebacks and outs and he is doing that. His slants and everything else are sharp and ANGLES compared to sloppy and curved. What’s impressive is he is working on it. You say shiftier WR and dink and dunk. Worthy is to DAMN small, Troy Franklin pro day and combine was sloppy and horrible route running( I love Oregon and glad we didn’t get him) XL size and speed allows him to catch those dunk and dunk plays and actually get positive yard because of his size. He can ALSO CATCH. His productivity also had a lot to do with the coaching and QB issues at SC. It was a great pick. You need to really sit back and watch last years tape and see how they moved him.

    Route running is all this man has been working on since college, he's heard all the criticism and is grinding. I like the pick, but I'll admit a bit of bias as a gamecock and panthers fan. I agree he looks a lot like mingo coming out of college and mingo didn't produce. Athletically Legette is special, but for those short routes and underneath stuff we have DJ and Theilen, but Xavier's game speed is quick( had the fastest homerun td in the sec last year) I'm excited to see him against nfl level competition. I disagree with the Ladd pick only because his skill set and size is too similar to multiple other receivers on the roster(DJ,Theilen, heck i'll toss in smith-marsette too). Been hearing good things out of camp about Jalen Coker out of Holy Cross as well, but mark it here I think Legette has the most yards of rookie WRs this year

The NHL literally shows videos of them doing the draw, and before they even start the draw they showcase the time of day when the draw is being done (The commissioner holds up his phone to showcase the time) and they also prove what day of the week it is (showcasing the front page of 2 different newspapers.). It happens in a 12x24 room an hour prior to the TV broadcast, and no one (except the commissioner and the NHL's CCO) is allowed to leave the room until after the broadcast is over. There are 20 people in the room where they do the lottery pull, no phones are allowed in the room outside of Bettman's (for the purpose listed above), and they invite 3 journalists from vastly different markets to attend the pull process, each media member getting a printed out packet that showcases the exact sequences that can potentially be drawn and who possesses what sequences; said packet has 1,001 potential sequences. Rangers never won twice in a row to draft first overall, they won the lottery in 2020 to draft 1OA and won the second drawing in 2019 that got them the 2OA pick. Chicago moved from 3OA to 1OA to draft Bedard The only time the lottery was really "suspicious" was between 2011-2015 when Edmonton won it 3 times; even then, they were still a pretty bad team and nowhere near the playoffs; sense then, they changed the rules to you can only win the lottery twice every 5 years. Even a team that "barely misses the playoffs" like you said, they can only move up at maximum 10 spots; so a team that finishes 16th (literally the closest you can get to missing the playoffs) hypothetically wins the lottery (a 0.5% chance for that team), they only can draft 6OA at best... and such an occurrence automatically guarantees the worst statistical team in the league will draft 1OA. Additionally, the statistical worst team in the league can draft no lower than 3OA. Then on top of that, you have to still draft the right player (we've seen plenty of duds or disappointments). If the lottery was rigged, Arizona would have won lotteries because that was the most struggling market in the league that Bettman refused to give up on for decades... now the team had to move because they finally realized it was a lost cause. If the lottery was rigged, they would pull strings to give expansion teams that pay up to a billion dollars to join the league special treatment in the lottery. Yes, the lottery sometimes gives us less than favorable results (no one wanted Bedard to go to Chicago merely because of the recent org wide sexual assault case)... but that doesn't mean its rigged; suggesting so is just insane amounts of copium.

    Choosing Keon over XL is interesting given your distaste for lack of separation. As a Panthers fan, I was also hoping for Ladd, but I do think he interacts with Thielen and Johnson’s skill sets.

    Hot take: the lottery should be completely random but still exist. Chaos giving a winning team another dominating superstar is preferrable to teams tanking for top talent.

      Then how would bad teams realistically be able to improve? FAs would never want to come to a team that finished 15-67 drafting 5th overall

    Clearly a Ducks fan. Before the lottery teams would go for last to win the lottery. This gives other teams a chance to win it or at least move up in draft pick.

    The NBA would be absolutely horrible without a lottery. The #1 and 2 picks in the NBA are SOOOOOOOOOO much more valuable than 8-10, your team has almost zero chance to win a championship without getting a superstar or 2, and most superstars are top 3 picks. Tanking would be 1000x worse in the NBA if the lottery wasn't a thing. There's more parity in the NHL and it might be OK without a lottery but you still don't want a team picking #1 3-4 years in a row.
