Hi again
Helllo Italian copy mix press good?
Hi Andy a nice collection of beatles please please me vinyls. May I ask you about one of my beatles records which I bought off ebay recently. I got a copy of please please me on the black and silver label mono pressing with the apple logo on the back a 1990s copy I think. But there is only one thing, the front cover is mono, and the label on the vinyl is mono but when you play it the tracks are in stereo . A big manufacturers error, does yours do the same? Should I keep it or send it back, have you come a cross something like that in your collections. Is it worth me keeping a hold of it. Andy I would love your advice on this, I paid 35 pounds for the album, have I bought a load of tat?
My cassette of Help! has a white, rather than gold, inlay, despite dating from the same early-80s era as my other Beatles tapes. Don't know if this is unusual. All of my Beatles cassettes have blue print directly applied to grey plastic shells.
I never knew about the Norwegian Wood stereo label misprint!! You _know_ I'm off downstairs to check mine 🤣
Hi Andy, nice video and Hollies collection. I only collect Hollies LPs and have all of the UK Parlophone mono copies, but seeing your collection I realize that I need to have all of the stereo editions also. I'm going to start seeking them out. Greetings and cheers from Michigan.
I really enjoy your videos , Andy ! You seem like a nice chap. Can’t wait to meet you someday in person ;) -Ale
Hi Andy. I have an early copy of this album. It has the word STEREO in white letters on a rectangle border in black. It is on the front cover, top right- hand corner of the album. Do you have this copy? I live in Australia. It does not have the year stamped anywhere on the cover or the vinyl discs. I purchased it either in 1969 or 1970. Any clues?
I have the third pressing 0115557 UK version with only on side 4 the writings ,,sold in the UK text..
If sellers on ebay are to be believed then they're _all_ first pressings 😉 You've got quite a collection! I've got a crossover James/Northern Songs copy
Hey pal. Just digging into your back catalogue. Really enjoying them! I've got similar content on my channel if you're interested 🤔
Cool video! I think the stereo ones sound better with BFS
Cheers, are you sure that the Earlier UK stereo pressings ,In fact never issued a -1 loud cut? A online seller claims he has one and it cought my eye
Did you know that APPLE 1 was a single from Frank Sinatra for the birthday of Maureen the wife of Ringo Starr
Are these for sale?
Is there is anywhere online where one can hear this lp?
I prefer the US versions over the British versions because that is what I grew up with over the years.
Part of the reason the cassettes have a different order of songs is by design, or redesign. I had The Beatles' Second Album on cassette. The last song on the cassette is not She Loves You. It is Thank You Girl, moved from side one. I have gotten used to it being like that and preferred it over the record order. When the US Album set came out, I deliberately recreated the cassette order on CD. I like it that way.
I had three copies of The Beatles Second Album on cassette in my lifetime because I like the configuration very much.. Thank You Girl is relocated to side two and placed after She Loves You.
The loud cut -1-1- matrices sounds terrible . It’s ALL hype. The later matrix numbers sound best.
I’ve just recently got into Herman’s Hermits, and of course, you can be depended upon to have a definitive collection. Brilliant. I think my favourite song is Listen People. I also like No Milk Today, as written by Graham Gouldman, later of 10cc. Mrs Brown is brilliant, and as you say, the Manchester /Lancashire accent is a key feature, but it’s also very much of its time. It works because it’s a respectable late teen singing to his ex’s mum. It’s a bit cringey hearing Peter Noone as a full blown adult & now pensioner singing it! Anyway, I love the video, and now I must collect their vinyl!
000s or more on a white album. I'm looking a nice sleeve for my gold an black. 3rd or 4th press not sure on 4th. Angus Mac has to match the S like at the start of this.
Interesting song credits on Please Please Me. McCartney-Lennon instead of Lennon-McCartney.
Andy are you okay? You haven't posted in 1 year
I bought this album a few days ago and was amazed. It,s really very delicious for my ears compilation. It's pity, that it don't publish again
I also have a mono yesterday and today with a faint misaligned "yesterday and today" Printed beneath the aligned one at a 30 degree angle. I found that super interesting! The things capitol would do to not waste their stock! LOL! (edit) And to top it off it came in a stereo cover from the time!
This dispute is largely a result of an artificially created hype. If you listen to Day Tripper/We Can Work It Out in stereo US you won't want the mono versions anymore. Many Beatles albums sound better in stereo. And if you don't like wide panning, there's an equalizer for that.
I, too, really really like What Goes On. Some great harmonies. You can always hear John coming through. And Ringo does a great job with the vocals. George's lead is top shelf.
Such a great example of the time.
Never knew all this. The box before the box release. Tired of hearing how great jackson is.
Are you planning to tile a floor?
1 Magical Mystery Tour 2 Rubber Soul 3 Love Songs 4 The Beatles Again 5 Yesterday And Today 6 Beatles VI 7 Help! 8 A Hard Day's Night 9. Meet The Beatles 10 The Beatles Story
You mention the rare Help! released for military bases. I remember as a kid in the very early '70s seeing the U.S. Capitol release of Something New with the picture taking up the entire cover (no track listings). I've never seen one like that since, and read once it was released like that for military bases, too.
good copies, mate! you should come back with more videos about it. miss that...
Speak up please.im on my phone max volume....
I have the last one but the record itself doesn’t come with mr pick wick logo on the label
Andy! It's so sad that he died in 2016! Who's watching in 2022!
I can assure you I am very much alive 😂 Just incredibly busy. Maybe I'll make a reappearance over the summer
Nice one, I have a copy from 68, never really knew what to look for to confirm it's the real deal.
I have an 81' pressing of the second album and it has the same time problem on those two tracks> Weird.
Alot of my first presses come from this 64-65 period. Great Video!
PCS 7016 is the catalog number, not a matrix number
Very cool video. I bought the Message in a box back when it came out but didn't have a look at all the singles until now. Thanks!
Absolutely love your name. I wish I'd thought of it. Brilliant. Rock on everybody.
This is Tom, not Sandra. I agree with you. "What Goes On" is a great song!! It's one of my favorite Ringo-sung songs, ever!!! Very underrated tune. IMO.
Your first mono copy is the initial"Gotta"copy. My stereo was the initial,The mono I had was the 2nd issue.
The third and fourth copies are Phillips contractor copies. Most of the EP production after Long Tall Sally(Decca/Oriole contract exclusive)were contracted to HMV for the rest of the run, thru Nowhere Man.I had originals on all 12.The Eps up to and including All My Loving were done in house at the flagship Hayes factory. This Yank knows his Beatles!!!
Phillips copies are second pressings.Pye contracted first.
Phillips fonter,I meant.Your second copy is a Phillips stick fonter.
