I took the NDHBE on 3/23/24. I used Dental Hygiene Seminar and passed. A lot of my classmates purchased Student RDH and also passed. We also used the Andy RDH app for practice tests. There’s lots of practice tests out there to help you build stamina for the amount of questions. Keep in mind Dental Hygiene Seminar and Student RDH are pricey BUT WORTH IT.

I was able to receive mine through my school but I'm pretty sure you can purchase through StudentRDH website!

I feel like all classes are hard LOL but this class was not too bad! I would say this is the one class that didn't have a lot of contents because the most important things to know is the types of anesthetics and technique. it's very important to know the contraindications as well.

I wouldn’t say that we make more than nurses. We definitely are on the same pay range as nursing and it does depend on the state you work for. I think one of the pros is the work life balance is def better! But I do recommend this career and if you do end up pursuing it, I hope you like it and goodluck!

My school only offered orascoptic so that’s the loupes I have only tried and used. I still use my loupes from school because I’m only a year out of school and they’re expensive so I’ll make them last as much as possible LOL. I do like them they have different styles and options depending on your preferences!

I got my associates last year and started working :) but I actually finished up my bachelor’s just this month!! I wanted to get my bachelor’s in case I ever want to dive into other non-chair side parts of dental hygiene but you certainly do not need a bachelors to work chair side

Yes it is! The second part are the case studies. Personally, I think that the first half was the hardest compared to case studies! Case studies are something I’ve always been good at cause I tried to imagine as if I actually had a patient.

@@ssweeting1 on my most recent upload, I talked about how I studied for any exams and even for boards!! I even give specific examples on how I personally succeeded and what NOT to do as well :)

@@amorknox937 No I put what I would like on my profile I have great reviews and reliable so that plays a big part but a lot of assistants average that in my area through temping.

I work for an office that still pays me even if my patient cancelled or no show. BUT, be aware that there are other offices that do not pay you for cancellations and no show. There’s even offices who will not pay you after the whole hour is done and you’re still working on your patient. I strongly suggest asking this question to the employer on ever interview.

I knowww! But honestly I’m glad tho because all the information is fresh!! My school’s statistics showed that students who took it later had a higher chance of retaking it. I felt like I was not prepared at all, I don’t think I would have ever felt prepared but I highly recommend you taking it asap!

I go to University of Hawai’i @ Manoa and our professors recommend us to take it before or during our last semester. I used Dental Hygiene Seminar to study for the NDHBE. I ended up taking ADEX for the clinical performance exam. I just got all 3 of my results just a few days ago and PASSED all😭🤩

There’s two instruments that I can never work without! It’s either anterior or posterior sickle scaler and the hu friedy sickle scaler 204S. For heavy patients I live to use the anterior curette cause it’s more comfortable for patients around gum lines. Idk what it is but I don’t think I’m a universal type of gal 😭 I hope that helps!!

Yess you can work in other states! Some states do have more requirements than others. You may need to take extra tests to be licensed in doing nitrous and other things. Depending on the state!
