I’m a lifelong Watford fan and to be honest he has a horrid time with us and the fans got on his back, but l was gutted when he left because l was and still am a massive fan of Dave Bassett..l always felt that had we kept him at Watford I’m convinced he would have got us straight back to the top tier..His story is exceptional, as a player he played at Hayes and Walton & Hersham but became a top manager mixing it in the top flight..A real footballing man and a top manager..

As a Barnsley fan, i just want to thank Hecky for all he did for Barnsley FC as both a player and as a head coach. He's Barnsley through and through. He obviously could see where the PMG were heading and quite rightly left. I don’t blame him one bit. He gave everything and more whilst at Oakwell and I'm really happy for him that he's gone on to have success at Bramall Lane. The Blades have, in Hecky, a manager that will continue to be successful in my opinion.
