FALCONRY is the rebranded original 'DAVE SHARPE nature boy' channel and will now only feature falconry content in any new uploads. A new channel is now set up under the 'DAVE SHARPE nature boy'' title for all my nature and vlog content and SNAKES + will see all new uploads of reptile and exotic content. PLEASE HELP ME BY SUBSCRIBING TO ALL THREE CHANNELS IF POSSIBLE.
The point of this channel is to enthuse you about the art and practice of falconry as well as working with birds of prey across various settings. The real ethos of the channel is helping you guys learn from my success and especially my mistakes from a lifetime of interest.

Eagle hunting and hunting with a Harris hawk as well as some Harris hawk training tips , and some views on hunting v vegans or at least how protectionists really don’t understand conservation , yet most hunters are top of the game when it comes to conservation and a love of wildlife

We head back to Spain and join a meastro of micro falconry .( in the film the birds weight is actually 225g not 95) . Tag Along in the wonderful Spanish countryside as we search for wild quail with a Brittany spaniel, take in the wonders of nature and see the worlds best American Kestrel x Peregrine in action! Later we visit my friends peregrine breeding project on the roof of his house !

Golden eagles, Harris hawks, goshawk and Ferrutail in action. All the slips to the end of December. Mostly hare hawking with some ferreting and pheasant .
Cute yes; but fascinating to observe too.

Been a while Since she had a video on the channel , just a quickie showing her instinctive behaviour in action, keeping tame non domestic animals is often an insight into their minds you don’t get to observe in the wild . I’m going to do a video at some point about how much we don’t bother to see about our birds during most falconry .

Falconry sky trials; Turleque Spain, a mini-adventure

Join us as we head out to Spain via Madrid , then a hotel in Toledo just half hour drive to Turleque where we attend the sky trials, see falcons stoop , take in the atmosphere and grab an interview with the organiser and two brits abroad ! Being a falconer inevitably leads to Jo public knocking on your door to help with a sick or injured wild raptor, often it’s pointless but sometimes you feel it’s worth a shot at least . This week a local vet asked us to take an injured short eared owl , but was it worth it ?

I’m having to work through some problems with my new goshawk, back a few steps to move forward . Remember if you lose weight to increase confidence in a task, once the bird has it sussed DO NOT leave the bird at the new lower weight but gradually increase weight again until the behaviour starts to tail off negatively , the bird may have only needed a weight reduction temporarily to achieve that...
