Stroker 383 without the Fitech ultra ram
Fitech ultra ram, is pure junk

Customer service does not exist with Fitech. The intake is not flat and leaks. Fitech will NOT warranty there system.
I really like super 10 mufflers
Back in the 1990s a customer had a mid 60s mustang towed to a shop I worked at had a 289 the back 4 cylinders were dead I finally pulled the valve covers and realized the rocker arms weren't moving Cam was broke in half not sure what caused it, it took awhile to get it fished out of the block, put in new Cam and lifters ran like a champ, for years to come
Your attention to detail is obvious! Nice looking engine.
👍
That happened to me with a Chevy 283 many years ago.
Always enjoy watching your videos. Use to dirt track race hardcore till accident. Now I work in garage on a 1966 Chevy II. I try to log in once a week and watch you’re videos
@@2012hansenracin thank you, glad to hear that.
Subscribe and thumbs up! 👍 my cousin is building a straight 6 for a jeep at the moment. He had the pistons too tight and had to rebore the cylinders. All back together and no longer leaving rub marks on the piston walls. Glad he noticed it or that engine probably would have locked up or broke rings. Definitely could’ve been catastrophic.
I have the same setup. But with 202/160 valves. 9.5 to 1 compression.
That cam loves boost , i knew a engine builder that used it in his street rod/tbucket. Good idle for a blower motor,
Back in the day we used school bus cams high torque not many reves but pull anything down the road
Nice sounds awesome I would love to learn how to do engine rebuilds only thing I don’t do face book do you have email communication 👍
@@vincentflores4725 I will be posting a link to my paid subscription to learn how to build engines, transmissions, mechanic work, ect.
Where you located Rey? Need a motor put together
@@10-35-q5v located in midland tx. You can reach me on my Facebook Reys Engines
You got rollers on it? That some nice size valve covers.
Nice@@reyracer
How long have you been running this unit? Have you had any problems with it the self learning or did you get it tuned
Wow.. my fitech is great! There’s a video of a guy running one of these on a chevelle ua-cam.com/video/ZftN0Ub_Wn4/v-deo.htmlsi=xMOyO_-obWsizXvk
@@michiganstreetsoldiers is yours a throttle body fitech or the ultra ram? I’ve run the throttle body and they are fine, they work. But not the ultra ram. The intake leaks. I went with a Holley terminator x and it works great
@ Fitech Ultra Ram on a Big Block Chevy 468.
@@michiganstreetsoldiers again you are trying to compare the big block intake with a small block intake. I am not the only one that has those issues with the small block. There are several post about it. You are trying to compare a different system. They may have had there Sbc intake mold setup incorrectly for several intakes to be misaligned.
@@reyracer oh no I agree and have seen several complaints, Just surprised that’s all.
Watched this video 100 too many times, how much horsepower do you presume this engine is making? Put the same cam in my truck because of this video
Good job
What is on the PTO end of the crank ? If it's wearing a flexplate that is slow revving. If it's wearing like a custom 100 pound bronze flywheel* then that is pretty good! *Heavy flywheels get used on boat engines and generators mostly. Maybe a rock crawler too IDK.
Sounds out of time get a cam hey just kidding no does sound great
Isky 280 is a fun cam. Ran one in a nova w/2400 converter. Burnout machine.
Yeah buddy sounds good.
Sounds really strong.
What stall you got run with 488 lift comp cam
@@davidspivey9261 minimum of 2500
Will that fit in my bug Rey?
@@rayflores4379 yes it will but it may be too much for you to handle.
Ouch.
Wow 👍
Sounds very good
Sounds great.
This really answered a question i had , about removing the springs. I was wondering if I needed to compress the springs with a spring compressor tool. I see you didn't use one. Your video is the 2nd one i see , that a chain is used and no spring compressor. 👍
Whats the final thought? You've bought 2, would you buy a third?
@@danielarens8072 for the price, yes I would buy another one.
Gonna be a sweet ride!
sounds very good!
One step at a time brother
No need to apologize.
Any progress with FiTech and your Ultra Ram?
@@tBusket I sent it back. Had major vacuum leak causing oil to enter the intake. Fitech would not help. I replaced with a terminator x throttle body and it runs flawless. No issues with Holley.
@@tBusket check out my other video with the terminator x.
Great video Man me and my buddy was trying to figure this thing out, likening what you’re doing
Man I just put this in my cart, guess I'll be taking it out right away. Thanks for saving me the headache
@@jeffreycurry8824 yes I would not buy it, just my opinion from experience.
Rey, can you do a timing video on the 355. I have the exact same set up and can’t seem to get it in time.
@@michaellight3060 I have one, go through my videos and you will see it.
Good video Rey. You’re looking old though. Haha.
@@rayflores4379 hahaha thanks
Started up on a dime
Did you vacumn down system before u charged it?
@@The12345condor yes, you vacuum it for 30-45 minutes and then wait another 30 minutes to see if it holds vacuum.
Here's my update. ua-cam.com/video/Rl9NeuHvjvU/v-deo.htmlsi=S9C65CPN4fxMp8ji After 2 months of back and forth, FiTech offered to replace the unit, then kept sending me requests to check other things (MAP numbers, IAC plunger, etc). It takes up to a week or longer for their tech dept to respond. It's almost like they have no clue what to look for, or properly diagnose. These units aren't shelved either. There was a lead time when I ordered it as they had to build it. So far it has been a waste of $2000. Anyone who watches this, beware. It's a 50/50 gamble whether it works or not and a 100% certainty their customer service leaves you high and dry.
@@tBusket you are absolutely right, their tech does not know what they are doing or they are playing it off. I am hearing a lot of the same story about this system. I will be doing a video of their intake, including measuring it and taking it to a machine shop to repair it. Yes they want to blame everything. Yes they will tell you it is your engine and not their system.
I didn't realize that Fitech was into manifolds. I have their 38351 Computer system and it runs very well. That said, they have had many years of developing that part. Holley has Decades of manifold design and tooling. I have my 1976 Holley carb and intake still in good order. Clearly Fitech is growing too fast from what I see here. Sad and there's no excuse for poor service. Contact Summit and Jeggs. Maybe they can pull strings for you.
@@petercermak4095 I contacted summit and they always have great service. Thanks
Great video, Dont know anyone running a fitech, certainly I wont. lol at the stealth video bomber at 1:57.
Great content...sorry about all your hassles though. Motor sounds good. Glad you let us make comments too :)
I hear ya. Be careful in regards to your comments about companies online and in vids. They can get you for slander. Great informative vids.
@@tjs_welding_and_fabrication can’t be slander, when I have the emails and receipts showing the lack of communication and they never blame their intake. They have you pay for all shipping and do not warranty their product.
@@reyracer I hear ya.
Slander would imply false allegations. My Ultra ram system is doing the same thing and fitech refuses to resolve it. It's not slander, it's a public service announcement.
Definitely not slander I’m having the same issues with the fitech ultra ram for big Chevy. It’s total garbage
Hi. I'm confused. You mention Flowtech then Fitech. I thought Fitech only sells computer and FI systems. Txs.
@@petercermak4095 you have to watch my other video. I discuss having flotek heads and thinking it was the heads, so I replaced the heads with rebuilt proline heads and the fitech still had oil going to the intake, vacuum issues and so on. Watch my other video, (Fitech ultra ram, is pure junk).
@@reyracer I see. Fitech has that LS intake injection kit. Is it that plastic stuff? I am an aluminum guy. My L98 has Jim Hall's miniram II Intake on it ith a 38351 Fitech computer. Didn't realize they sold manifolds. Did you talk to Bryan or their tech guys about it? Good feedback btw.
Nice job buddy...
I have heard nothing good about Fitech
@1984goldenchevy yes the system is junk, the customer service is not good.
Did you put this in a car ?
Nice guy real one
Man i was about to order it
@@antonep4721 don’t order it. Nothing but trouble with the system, I sent the intake back to them because of imperfections and leaks. I had to pay for the shipping and they sent it back in the same condition, stating it was good. I don’t think they even looked at it, because I intentionally sent it back with oil inside and that’s how they sent it back without cleaning it. They continue to blame the new engine for the problem instead of there system. I’ve installed plenty of sniper systems without any issues and some Fitech throttle body systems. But this one is not a good design.
