back probed into the regulator valve on the AC Compressor. It has a PWM signal from the Climate Control Module. Has the signal to command the regulator valve on, no pressure change in the system whatsoever indicating a bad compressor.

Came to the aid of a used car lot to figure out why this vehicle won't start. They had swapped the Front Sam and it did not help of course. We began testing, they disputed our testing and had me go down a bit of a rabbit hole and had me second guessing myself at first but I was on the trail. There was water in the driver's floor board and we discovered a huge problem that needs addressed. More ...

Control is there. Definitely time for a compressor :) you can also look at the current in scan data going to the solenoid on the compressor. If it’s close to an amp, usually means it’s “trying” hard to make pressure. You can use that in conjunction with the scope to be certain on these.
@@shotgundiagnostics I saw that spec was .8 amp max. So I never checked to see if it was exceeding that unfortunately. I agree scan data could have been used in conjunction. And a great starting point to use in documentation to take it to this level. Ultimately, using the scope in conjunction with the manifold gauges to monitor pressure (in this case the lack of) was undeniable evidence. Very good information for using scan data as it can be used in documentation and making a test plan from the driver's seat. Thanks brother.
Loving the content and thought process. Is that the LIN Bus we was looking at in the beginning for this compressor
@@djmobileauto @djmobileauto hey DJ, so the signal from the climatronic Control unit is PWM to the regulator valve. You can see when I turn the knob to cut the fan on with the AC on, the PWM signal increases quickly but in increments to control the compressor output and match the duty cycle that the climatronic module is hunting to obtain. Telling me the car has everything it needs to turn the compressor on. Watching the manifold gauge, there is zero pressure change happening. Those two pieces of information tell me the compressor is failed. It should be a Duty Cycle 12 volt signal on this unit though. I never seen the valve as described as being on a LIN bus network in SI. Appreciate you my friend.
Great work dude, I love the content!

Is that a fuel injection tester you used to pulse width the vanos solenoid? That is a great idea!

Doing good my friend. Hope you guys are doing good too.
That 'Thingy whatjumacallit' 🙂 is a 'Power distributor connector, like a roundabout or an intersection main Gateway, all communications come and go from there through the Can Low and can hi, there are 2 Parallel 60 Ohm resistors in that block assembly so if 1 Can system gets shorted or open circuit and you measure with an Ohmmeter you will read 120 Ohms, it should only read 60 Ohms if the integrity of the circuit is good.
@@sollykhan2385 thanks. I was under the impression it was a star connector. Yes. I was using bad descriptions in the video. I'm not trying to be a UA-cam star. but I should definitely use the proper terminology. Thanks.

Um so could you please explain why shaving that down fixes this issue please? i actually have this happening this very moment. I cant reallt afford 1100 dollars as someone stated in comments it would cost to replace this. Thank you
So all you had to do was trim down the top of the plastic rod under the gear shifter?
Was the valve body hard to separate? I’m guessing there was a non reusable gasket in there?
Just follow service information and have proper tools and you're good to go.
Why did you have to replace it what was it doing
Xheck your duel relat switch!

Yes. I repaired wires and got a BCM in it

Yo JG. The borescope video is really clean. Is it's articulate?
Its not articulating. I have one that is but runs on AA batteries that is not that great. This one does have a side camera that helps get views of valve seating issues though. I have some of those images on my Facebook page. Articulating borescopes are great and i think depstech makes those also though but i do use my side camera for instances where articulating camera is needed.
What scope is that?

Do you have to have hardware like an IDS to do this?

We got one in the shop that did this. All the same symptoms. The customer decided to try it. It's working great, so thanks for this! I used the scanner looking at the Gearshift P pid in the Smart Key Unit, could see it turn off and on while lightly pushing the rod. Ground enough off to make it work well then ground off a little more to buy time.
Awesome to hear!
Hello I would need your help i have the same problem can i contakt you some hove ?
Unfortunately the only help I would be is if you had the funds for tech support.

Any update? I’m working on a 13’ with same symptoms but with orange key light on. Also ruled out the BCM. Any luck with the ignition switch/wiring?
Come to find out, someone had replaced the dash harness with the wrong one. This being an S model it's not easy to find the CORRECT harness. The original was hacked up by a previous hack job so I put this project to the side. I'm working on repairing the harness in my free time. I will update soon as possible.
Car was fixed by repairing the original harness. Owner recently wrecked and totaled the car though playing in the curves.
Wow what a useless video. Literally showed nothing about how the repair or diagnostics were performed. I just bought a $30 shifter knob off Amazon and it fixed the issue. Or you could pay this knucklehead $550 for wasting his time pulling all the panels off the interior of your car.
Trim those nails while you have the trimmer going. You either keep those nails that long for nose picking or you like to snort coke off your baby nail.
My car is tuned by Lund and I tried going back to stock file and still won’t communicate
Sounds like you bricked it
So when replacing the valve body you have to reprogram it? Or it will throw codes or not work properly?
It needs to have the strategy relearned or you will destroy the new VB will have harsh shifts and potentially erratic. Why are you trying to bypass the most important part of the procedure?
@@ZoomAutoDiag thanks,i didnt know that ,
I have that godiag bob. Can you explain the connections to the ECM I want to try this? Thanks bro!
Power, ground and com wires. Easy peezy
Is this a permanent solution or only temporary?
The best thing to do is get a new shifter assembly for about $1100 dollars. And leave the mechanic a good review if he does this repair for you. It has worked for a long time and has not come back yet. This is not the recommended repair procedure so do it at your own risk if you do it. If any unsatisfactory results occur later down the road then that was free of charge 😀
Kind of useless video. Be nice to know what pass through, how to log onto ford website (or if you need to) to enter solenoid strategy. Entering strategy is a good way for relearn to take place. Some transmission remanufactures do not require strategy to be programed and tell you to drive and let transmission learn itself. Either way, you will not damage your valve body in the process.
😇🙏❤️... Pay attention to the audio being expressed over the radio
The Nord stream pipeline explosion news. What an interesting time it is to be alive man. So many evil things going on in the world right now. In the moment I didn't listen to anything the radio was saying. But I had to also listen to myself fumble through this diag and watch how I can improve on explaining things in these videos I attempt to do. It's not really for entertainment or even teaching but mostly I record for documentation. Nuts how that shift lever actuator rod was being pushed down just slightly to keep ACC on though. I should have charged all my time. I had to make sure the keys were working like they should since the fob wasn't working bc of this in order to determine if it was a symptom or a cause. Guy was still like "it was pretty expensive" even though I hooked him up in reality 😅 I hate having to deal with customers sometimes 🤯
@@ZoomAutoDiag As long as you do the right thing, it'll pay off in the end even when you think you're losing. 😇👍❤️

I wonder how it blew again. Glad it helped!!
This video fails to show how to get Forscan to allow the user to change the Body ID...
What do you need to get this done? How much time does it take?
Forscan and and service information. The solenoid strategy procedure takes little time. You need good troubleshooting skills to get to this point.
@@ZoomAutoDiag f150 shifts bad, willing to try vb, chances are it will fix the problem. New trans is $$$.
@@ZoomAutoDiag My diagnosis was going to be a bit less involved. Was going to check the pan and see it there is junk in it. If it was going to be clean I would proceed with swapping the valve body. It looks like a $400 proposition after you return the core, plus the ulv fluid to fill it back up (was told need about 11qt.) Anyways thank you for all your input!!
@@askrzyniarz I see your point. You will need a pump to get the fluid in. 11 qts on deck and fill to proper level. There is a mini stick in there. Couple different sticks came in depending on which one you have determines the level. You also should warm transmission up to proper temp. Get torque specs for vb bolts. You are saving a ton of money so get a day pass of Mitchel service information and download all the PDFs for the truck u can. Good luck!
You should do a step by step how to program the vb.
