This priceless footage will be linked, with a ton of other linked rare footage, in the book ED with The Harlem Blues & Jazz Band 1977-1987. One thing I ALWAYS find missing are the DANCERS NAMES. Even in the News Articles! Now here are the names of the dancers I know of and ALL of the names of The Harlem Blues & Jazz Band because really, there is no show without the performers. In 1985 at the legendary Village Gate, NYC performed JAZZ LEGENDS: (Al Casey or sometimes Larry Lucie - guitar), Johnnie Williams-bass, Belton Evans-drums, Eddie Chamblee-tenor sax, Bobby Williams-trumpet and, Eddie Durham-trombone who also WROTE SWINGING THE BLUES, TOPSY, EVERY TUB, SENT FOR YOU YESTERDAY, WHAM REBOP BOOM BAM and arranged ONE O' CLOCK JUMP, MOTEN'S SWING, and JUMPIN AT THE WOODSIDE. The dancers names which I know of who were there AT TIMES, were Debbie Youngblood, Dickie Harris, Tyrone Cooper, George Sullivan and David Butts. EddieDurhamJazz dot com

You Sir, are, & will be, horribly missed. There is no Phil Schaap replacement in the entire world. It would take dozens of other knowledgeable people AND even then, they wouldnt know what Phil Schaap knew.

WOW !! Very finde played "Mood Indigo". A fantastic solo from Eddie on plunger trombone. I've never heard him playin' so. This is the best Tricky Sam Nanton-Tradition !!! Thank you very much for the fine video.

Hi Andreas. Yes I love how he calls "Laurel" by trombone. Laurel is one of my favorite blues singers, very under rated. Very classy-sexy. She always had some muscle man in the audience lift her on and off stage, she was hilarious too! Rocking it in the pocket as usual. Also just as captivating, the one and only Jack Hammer!

wow ! durham sounds so great in the plunger solo ..... what a control and musicality ....... including the little fun parts with the talking-to-you style .... all performed, played, phrased with an artistic vision and great taste ......... i love his music so much. all those moments i KNOW it is durham included ..... the arrangements ... the guitar parts ..... the compositions ....... hearing jazz music ... all kind of big moments in jazz ........ there are so many durham moments included. .... ( hallo to topsy )
