With Thanksgiving approaching, you’re probably itching to start decorating for the holidays with poinsettias, holly, and a Christmas tree. But did you know some of your favorite holiday plants are actually poisonous to your pets? In today’s video, we’re going to play a little game where I share if a holiday plant is toxic and you have to tell me if it’s true or not.
Quick PSA: if your pet has eaten one of these plants, call your vet. You can also get immediate help from a pet poison helpline (855-764-7661), which is available for a $85 fee.
What to do if your pet is poisoned:
-Remove your pet from the area.
-Check to make sure your pet is safe: breathing and acting normally
-Do NOT give any home antidotes.
-Do NOT induce vomiting without consulting a vet or Pet Poison Helpline®.
-Call Pet Poison Helpline® at 855-764-7661.
-If veterinary attention is necessary, contact your veterinarian or emergency veterinary clinic immediately.
