Lest you didn't know, the days of the sword-wielding Abbasids and Umayads have been over for quite some time, and we Ismailis, our children and grandchildren are not intimidated by your polemics and bigotry, and we will NEVER AGAIN have to practice Taqiyya or go into hiding in order to avoid persecution at the hands of Sunnis or other monstrous religious zealots such as you. On the contrary, let me take this opportunity to extend to you a hand of friendship, and invite you to visit our ambassadorial venues (such as the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, and elsewhere in the world so that you can educate yourselves (just as the Holy Prophet s.a.s. said "even if you have to travel to China.."). But let me in the meantime recommend to you, for your own sanity, that you and your friends stop obsessing about us Ismailis; we are doing great, thank you very much. As I used to say to my children, and will repeat to you: "Don't worry, be happy". You and your nothing-better-to-do propagandists and poisonous polemicists have been unceasingly, relentlessly and pathologically, as well as obsessively vicious in your bigotry and meanness to people of Faith like me and millions of my Ismaili brothers and sisters all over the world. In so doing, you are a discredit to Islam and to the Final Message of the Holy Prophet of God to mankind. You are doing what you do in the name of some God-forsaken and mentally screwed-up 'dawat' (authoritarian) ideology. You should not forsake the values and ethics of Islam such as compassion, humility, generosity, kindness, love, empathy, sympathy, and tolerance, and avoid enmity, envy, arrogance, hatred, bigotry, jealousy, pride, lust, and gluttony. I would also recommend reading 'the Seven Virtues and Seven Sins' of the Judeo-Christian faiths, as well as the Lord's Prayer recited by all Christians.

A beard and a turban does not make a Muslim. You and your fellow pseudo-intellectuals have given yourselves license to spit out nonsense and bigotry. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I shall hold your feet to the fire every inch of the way, when you least expect it. Your inability to deal with your own dysfunctional upbringing, coupled with your own personal axes to grind should not be a cause for leading other innocent souls astray. If you have any guts, you will declare whether you a practicing Khoja Ithnasheri or a Hanbali, Shafi, Hanafi or Maliki Sunni. Self-proclaimed sheikhs and so-called "renowned" mullahs, in criticizing and insulting my faith as an Ismaili murid of the living Shi'a Imam, are akin to the assassins of Hazrat Aly (the cousin and son-in-law of Nabi Muhammad), and of Imam Husayn, (the grandson of the Holy Prophet (s.a.s)) by Muawiya and Yezid, who incidentally ALSO wore turbans and kept long beards . They and you all have nothing better to do than insult the faith of your own forefathers who may be turning in their graves. Quit your stupid obsession with my Tariqa of Shia Islam, and get a life, play some golf, smoke a cigar, even marry four wives if you feel inclined, smell the flowers, look at the stars in the night sky, and take good care of your children and your elders, the poor, and the homeless. Akbar Khoja, Salim Lalani, Yasir Qadhi and others are disillusioned and troubled souls who will drag you down a slippery slope. There is no such entity as 'Aga Khanism'. So let me educate those who seem to be in the business of franchising outlets (like cockroaches) such as 'Rethinking Ismailism'. 'Aga Khanism' , Sunni Wonderland etc etc.; I wonder how much these franchises cost these days). BTW, there is also no such thing as Ismaili(ism), just as there is no such thing as Islam(ism) or Ithnasheri(ism). But let me enlighten you further so that if you are really a true Muslim in search of truth, as you should be, you will in turn hopefully succeed in enlightening Akbar Khoja(a Khoja Ithnasheri who attended UBC), Salim Lalani ("a Sheikh of Australia"), Yasir Qadhi (a self-proclaimed "sheikh" of Yale and Medina), your esteemed Muftis and Sheikhs: 'Aga Khan' is the title first granted by the Persian ruler Fath 'Ali Shah to Imam Hasan 'Ali Shah (1804 - 1881), who also served as a Governor of Qom, Mahallat and Kirman. So therefore there is no such thing amongst the Ismailis as Aga Khanism, do you understand? It is a title (akin to His Royal Highness, His Majesty and so on). Also, Ismailis exist as Nizari Ismailis, Tayyibi Bohoras, Druzes, Musta'ilis, Yemeni Ismailis, and others. The word Shia is derived from Shiatu 'Ali (or the party of 'Ali), therefore any follower of Imam 'Ali is a 'Shia" by definition (I hope you are not Wahabis or funded by them). As far as the five pillars of Islam, and the concepts of Jihad, Hajj etc., these are the Words of God in the Holy Qur'an subject to interpretation by man (Sufi versus Sunni versus Shia versus Anglo-Saxon), and nobody on earth can dictate who is Muslim and who is not. There are a thousand and one interpretations of the Holy Qur'an. We are the Tariqa of the Sufis. and therefore we have Jamatkhanas; we can also attend any Shia or Sunni mosque, and have done so at Idd al-Fitr and Idd al-Adha.

The way I see it, it is a good thing if they’re far from being Muslims. Islam is the world’s most retrograde force. The differences between Ismailis and Islam this video points out are, in my view, only good; sort of what the renaissance did to Christianity. Islam needs to evolve more towards Ismailism!

I’m a Christian and grew up with an Ismaili best friend. I can say that I prefer Ismaili company to muslim company. I would say Ismailism is superior, more humane than Islam.
