In D2, Grim Dawn and Torchlight 2, investing points in your skill tree feels meaningful and gives a depth to levelling. In Diablo 4, just invest 5 points in your core skill and 1 point in all passives... and you need aspects and rely on bugs to feel powerful. In Season 1, Bulwark Druid was bugged and broke the game. In Season 2, it was Ball Lightning. In Season 3 and 4, it was Barb (Upheaval and Whirlwind). In Season 5, it was Rogue's Heartseeker + Victimize. In Season 6 it is Spiritborn. You need to rely on bugs to do lots of damage. Sad state of the game. What's annoying is the Necromancer aspect that gives you 2 additional skeletal mages becomes 3 if you imprint on an amulet, but the Druid's stampede aspect still gives you 1 additional companion.

Where am I gonna get my druid builds? You're like the only one I've found. Plus I like that you don't just do the "meta" builds.

You gave it your all. Blizz seems to usually neglect the druid across all games and honestly the d2 druid felt more fun to play as far as the pet build goes. Yeah they let all the spiritborn builds and exploits slide but won't fix the other bugs with say the druid pets. No telling when they will ever address it either. Good luck on your new job.

Was gonna try out a companion wolf build where i use shephards two handed and mjolnic ring for single target dmg and swap to fleshrender+shepherd totem and bold chieftains ring for aoe dmg n jus use em interchangeably depending on the content im runnin I figure the singing bear build doesnt really require many aspects, just debilitating roar cooldown, bold chieftains and fleshrender but then again with the main skill damage nerfs not sure if it'll be worth it anymore. Any thoughts?

The problem of going with non META builds is that while they may be "fun" they aren't good. It's as simple as that. Towards the very end, good/great builds just don't cut it. I can't tell you how many times people died on me in Compass 8 with "good enough/great" builds. This is even more important now that RAID is official. You absolutely WILL feel the weaker member of the team cuz they ain't got no DPS. Until TRUE parity is reached with different builds this will always be the case. Even if you have TEN+ extremely powerful wolves it won't make any difference in Compass 8 where you have FIVE+ ultra powerful elites at any given time (if not more) surrounded by hundreds of mobs + one or two mini uber bosses. Sad but true. :(

Yeah i wish the AoE was better for the wolves. Was hoping for an area buff on that companion skill.

They still did not fix the bug about Thurderstruck not activating for companions or i missed it

Im just saying with the level increase to shapeshifting skills aspect and mad dog chest+runes skill level you can get pretty high level lacerate which could potentially get into 100% immune territory

Too bad they force us to play full zoo to be competitive (Sheperd & other aspects, new Key passive, new Legendary node...)

Don't remember seeing them nerfing that rune combo with that new shroud that puts you in stealth so it's probably going to make some builds godly

I'm playing a companion druid in season 5 and have never been so satisfied with ANY other builds. I took Kripp's build but gave him a Shako (fairly easy to get in S5 if you still have your Tormented Boss and Lilith first kills available) plus the Airidah's Inexorable Will ring which pulls enemies into your Petrify with devastating effect. AE is lacking a bit but elite and boss damage is godly, as you've said. Definitely playing this hero in VoH S6 when the new human skills and new items become available. 👍

The wolves not jumping to targets or even jumping to targets, but doing zero damage killed this build for me. I was so excited to see they made companions viable...just to have my excitement killed by bugs. It's been a month a half and I don't think the devs even have the druid fixes on their priority list. I've been really enjoying the Boulder Boy build, but that too is completely negated by Suppressor and Walls. Losing all of your boulders in 1 second hurts. The speed of the build is so much fun though. I've only built druids this season to test all the builds out.

There are not a lot of build that doesn't use crits as a main dmg type. It's why Sorc needs to use Fire enchant 95% of the time.. Even overpower builds will be glad to have 100% Crit added.. Blizzard wanted to lower the numbers: they should've made Crits the same than overpower: like crits 3-5% and overpower 1-3% chance. Then make aspects/Items that can guarantee a crit/overpower.. I can't wait to see if I'll like season 6 or not with all the once again rework.. at least I'll see where they go with Mercenaries.. (will they stay for one season only?)

I dunno man, the vortex one seems pretty good, its pretty much the sorc unique that pulls everyone but for all classes

I've been theorycrafting something similar. You should look at the Sepazontec unique weapon. I think it is going to go insanely hard with the rocksplitter passive. Also thinking of running aspect of simple repraisal + bristling vengeance which synergize well with Sepazontec also.

I like the theory crafting you can do with some of them like maxing your resources generation to min-max a crown of Lucion+banished lords talisman build

They are going to abuse the rune combo with that new shroud mythic that lets you stealth unless they nerf it. If you didn't get to test it it procs like every few seconds. I will agree that some skills like that druids bulwark cost way too much offering for not doing much. So yes some of the lesser powerful less used runewords needs to have lower offering cost or lower cool down to make people want to use it.

We were already being shoehorned into building a tank, now its just going to be worse. What kind of tank you make is up to you but you WILL build a tank or you wont be able to do high end content.

Note that there are type II incense with all res+10 and +150 armor. So the bare minimum gonna be 1650 armor on normal difficulty.

The poison damage of Poison creeper does not stack right? so it can never be used as a damage skill,..only for poisoning enemies, or they changed this???

How defense will be changing in my mind Use runes for enduring cry and Decrepify+debilitating roar =70+% DR
