27.5mm seems the most efficient
I love how it is secured with a single C-clamp on your bench. Good thing you didn’t get more than 150g of thrust. 😂
I know this video is old but i have a 14.5"x36" lathe and a 10"x50" mill. Ive been building a 10"x24" benchtop lathe for the last 7 months. Granted ive been machining every part from scratch and using acme screws for all the slides and leadscrew. This build really puts thing into perspective for me:) Well done.
No too small nor too much moderate won 😊
is it plasma? how does he work?

Very beautiful sweet working object❤❤❤ good luck 💗💗

Bro can u tell which fighter jet engine is more fuel efficient if he on fly High speed and full load capacity
Graphite foil works really well. alot easier to cut and drill holes. Its also supposed to not corrode like SS will eventually do. I made one with it. Super fragile but worked good while it was working. Also tons cheaper to make.
Fan jet engine is easier to build and makes more thrust
U can use 12 volt glow plug in this jet engine.
Have you measured the thrust yet?
Yep! There's a video on my channel about that
Can you give information i want to make like this one
Gas pressure now the limiting factor?
Yeah it is, the motors are once again too weak to produce more power
Very Impressive! Does none of the heat transfer to the plastic compressor housing? Did you somehow insulate it? Also, I'm curious how much % infill did you use in the compressor wheel?
I'm sure it does, but at the moment the compression ratio is so low that heat isn't a significant factor. I used a 25% infill, thanks!
How did you make the spark plug glow continuously? I am making my own also.
I used a high voltage step up transformer to generate the arc, they're really cheap on Amazon and work great
@@NeallyAre you talking about $10 Chinese 6v- 400kv cheap transformers?
It's a blowtorch
Are you still gonna reply to all the comments when this channel inevitably takes off?
I'll do my best!
So you give up on electric compressor and moving to classic turbo jet design?
I might revisit the motor jet in the future, but for now I'm moving on to the next design. We need more power and the turbo makes that possible
Excelente Job, excelente historia y excelente exelente edición
Cheers! I appreciate it!
What meaning electric engine?
Electric as in electrically driven compressor, it makes it's pressure using an electric supercharger
You actually need a nozzle, in the proper way of the name, those restrictions are good for you but way inefficient. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/65/Jumo_004_im_Technikmuseum_Hugo_Junkers_Dessau_2010-08-06_Detail_03.jpg/220px-Jumo_004_im_Technikmuseum_Hugo_Junkers_Dessau_2010-08-06_Detail_03.jpg
how much pressure can u get inside the combustor? think about several stages of compressors with intercoolers between to not melt the plastic :D thermodynamic efficiency depends on temperature and Pressure the higher the better :)
How much would it cost to make me one of these?
What kind of motor did you use?
I think it's a 1/2hp single phase AC motor, got it out of a bench grinder
@Neally Cool! I got an expensive DC motor drive for dirt cheap from an auction, and the plan was to refurb and resell, but then I started getting other ideas, which is how I came across your video. Appreciate it!
You gained a new subscriber buddy you reminded me of my project it i made my engine inside a water pipe😂 it was just a conbustion chamber with a (grinder motor) (ac) and a propeller pushing air into it it wasnt effective at all but ill get to study alot with youb❤️🫶🏻
I can’t find the files on your patreon please post soon 🙏
❤❤❤❤❤
istg watching you is like watching an ancestor of scotty from star trek. you really put your "ah-ha moments" where we can see how it drives your work forward, and you always have this like WONDER for what you're achieving. (total trek fan here ofc btw.) idk fully why but this really hits the spot i only usually get hit with when watching trek and they do an engineering-solves-the-day plot. only this has the added thrill factor of actually happening on planet earth right freaking now. I LOVE THIS!!!
Unfug und Quatsch wird nie genau Ergebnisse sind scheisse!
This looks and sounds magical
Haha thanks! I think so too
1:26 your not slowing down air to make high pressure, your literally squashing air, into a tighter smaller space. If you was right than air would be at it's highest pressure when not moving. You've got the right idea but your explaining it wrong.
best thing ever to be on UA-cam make a model plane with this
What are you going to use it for
Nothing, I was just looking to see if I could make it work
Would printing the blower it out of resin make the air flow better since FDM printing has a bunch of print artifacts and imperfections
I'm sure it would! I don't currently have a resin printer, but I have thought about painting the surfaces with the resin and using a uv light to cure it to smooth out any imperfections
@@Neally what about sanding it?
Yeah! I sand the volute casing so the layer lines are less pronounced
38mm 175% best For this power
Which gas did you use?
Propane!
Just to ask, but are the stl files for all these models available anywhere?
I'll probably have the files on my patreon soon!
@@Neally Awesome!, im particularly interested in that impeller stl since designing a sturdy impeller that can both print well and not tear itself apart is a challenge and i would be able to use this in many different things
@@Neally Sorry for asking so many questions, but one other thing i wish to know is are there any calculations relevant to modelling compressor and turbine for small scale and also with things like a stator etc, or are the all just something that you can wing? I assume that for the compressor and turbine you wouldnt want higher drag on the turbine than the compressor and vice versa to keep things turning smoothly
when duo you working for space x?
That would be something haha
Cant wait for the next video
Cheers! Thank you✌️
Where did you or where will you post the files?
I'll be posting them on my patreon soon!
Ever considered a de laval nozzle at the exit
I haven't yet, but it would be interesting to see what happens!
How big of a bed do you need to print? How much psi does this make? you think it would be enough to make 5psi on a v6 engine?
It took up my entire 256x256mm print bed. And not in it's current state, it peaks around 0.85psi. With a stronger motor you can probably push it to somewhere between 1 and 1.5psi, but that's just my guess
how do you earn money to do this cool projects
I didn't make any money for years, but now UA-cam ads, and sponsored videos bring in a little bit
Real lathes- cast structure for rigidity, all solid part. No welding after curing it for ever and surfacing.. this isn't going to end well. Oh you can see millimeters ov movement when cutting:( better luck next try
Sehr gutes Video !👍❤
Du bist so gut ! Sehr schönes video !❤👍
Hi what pressure sensor do you use ?
