Here's a gem for you PT fans. September 29th 1977, London. The video is not great, it's OK though, but I haven't seen another source for this broadcast. Audio is inferior to start from video source then synched from my own analogue cassette recording of the radio broadcast from 4mins in, so is fine from that point. The other half of the show was the legendary Lone Star, I uploaded that too..

Here's a gem for you Lone Star/ Paul Chapman/ Jon Sloman fans. September 29th 1977, London. The video is not great, it's OK though, but I haven't seen another source for this broadcast, I got hold of this video in a trade, then synched audio from my own master analogue cassette recording of the radio broadcast . The radio b'cast was a little shorter than the TV b'cast so the inferior audio cuts...

Who’s the drummer ?
For a Canadian lad, Pat sure has some seriously funky grooves in his playing. Love it!
Pat is so talented band just the coolest guy. He really jams out. I’m so glad he does. I love 💗 him. He fkyn rocks. !!!!! TURN IT UP LOUD !!! 🤘🏼💀🤘🏼 🤘🏼💀🤘🏼
Cool!
Remember. They always got there to kick your ass!
Still have the albums on vinyl. What a great band, they deserved better.
Saw these guys live at Johnson hall Yeovil in 76,supporting mott the hoople, probably gonna annoy a fan base in one comment, but line star were by far the better band on the night, was listening to firing on all six about half an hour ago and decided I needed a reminder visually of just how bloody good they were. I know you remember yer first live gig,and it was a special night, missed out on a lone star frisbee tho! Anyone else go to that concert,Tuesday 9th November? Fun thing was there was hardly anyone there, had groups of friends sitting on the floor,I was leaning on the stage all the way through,to the left side with my mate kev, will always throw six on and remember, long may they last in memories of a great band making great music.
I believe PT was always gettin betta with another guitarist
The Bamboo room gig is awesome with Kirk Mckim . No Nicko or the redhead monster, just Sandy Gennaro the working man. And a surprise in the end
13:00 guitar explosion! Paul Chapman from UFO folks!
Mars Cowling is still difficult to emulate to this day. his bass playing is next level
Go For What You Know is one of the best live albums ive ever heard. With complex changes, funky breaks, catchy melodies, top notch musicianship, high energy, and amazing, kick ass,, creative solos that take you on a journey. You dont.feel like.youre listening to progressive rock because all those tight changes blend togethwr so effortlessly
One of me Favorit at this time
Morning Sun and Ray
back then you were stepping on a lot of pedals and killing the vocal at the same times to get that sound , wonderful ans amzazing
Definitely one of my largest, underrated, Bassist to become friends with while touring together during my tenure playing Bass for Molly Hatchet. And what a perfect tone to fit his attack. R.I.P Mars
Lone Star? En España hubo una banda mítica que nació en los 60s también llamada Lone Star
Brilliant. That is all I can say. Gone for good "Lone Starring". Love this video.
Pat is Awesome!
First heard Lone Star doing a session on The Friday Rock Show around 1979! I was absolutely transfixed! Tommy was stunned as well! 😜
Pat is endless..hes in his 70's ...stilljamming and looks 30.
Nicko mcbrain? In drummer?
Incroyable le travail du bassiste! Excellent... 2 super guitaristes avec de riches harmonies. Malheureusement, une époque vient de passer ou les gens s'obstinent à croire que plus on est moderne et plus on est supérieur! C'est faux.
One of my favorites! The mighty Pat Travers!
Is this Pat Thrall ? I thought he joined later ??
The first album is just great. Second one was ruined by a new singer, terrible.
Saw him at Birmingham 79 I think (Travers, Thrall, Mars, Aldridge) four of the best musicians of all time. Backing Journey total sell out.. place went mad when Pat came on and then emptied before Journey took the stage.. Easy to see who the headline should have been...And yes, Journey were crap!
Anyone know what brand of bass mars was playing?? What a Bassist, wow!!!
Loved the pat traverse band especially Mars Cowling, but the entire band was rhythmically tight. Poor pat was slam ass outa tune 1st few songs, not only with himself but dualing leads 🤣🤣🤣 Not in tune with the other guitarist. I read an interview with him in Guitar player magazine in the 80s. It was like they were interviewing Ted nugent 🤣🤣 Cocky arrogant, cutting on Clapton for being out of tune in layla and Clapton just sucking in general. Negativity like that detracts from his accomplishments. Still tolerable to listen to because of the rest of the band. Thank goodness he tuned for gettn beta. It got better.
They should have been massive
Mars cowling doesn’t get enough credit as a bass player… he should be in the top 10 ever
Pat, Is one of my favorite guitar players ever.. and he’s also a good dude.. he lives in central Florida here and I see him from time to time in the grocery store always says hello. Very nice.
You did great, Nigel! Thanks so much for uploading this piece of rock history.
Such awful quality.
Pat Travers ,a.k.a. El Shred-Master and obviously a forerunner mastering that shred technique!
Spinal Tap Fronted by a Robert Plant manque. I'm not surprised they didn't make it big.
Is this Spinal Tap?
Mars Cowling - most underrated bassist ever!
Who’s the other guitar player? That doesn’t look like Pat Thrall.
Snortin' Whiskey was a single that gave me interest in the band. Whilst they could be great, sadly they were a little too inconsistent to be major players.
Lordy what dweebling are these?
The word "underrated" is all over UA-cam....and most people don't know what they are on about. But here is a fine example.
Awesome in your face Rock and Roll, 😁
Saw them in the Capitol Cinema in Cardiff in the 70's. They were so so good. Gutted they never made the big time as a group
Who is drumming in this video ? I love it, solid !
actually it's Nicko McBrain
No it's not Nico. I've been a fan of Nico all my life, look at the face at 1:26 sec, that's not him. I do know that Nico played with Pat , but not in this video...who's that guy ?@@markgeiger7700
@petehilario3292 I did a little searching when I saw the video... and Nico's Wiki did say he played with Pat on 1977... but this one might not be him ... interesting... it's good drumming!,, wonder who it is!!?? this is good stuff!!
@@markgeiger7700 I know it. Nico has very distinguished facial features. And this isn't him. I often forget that Nico played drums for Pat back in the 70s.
I’m a classic rock person and why have I never heard of Lone Star🤷♂️
Superb. Thanks for posting.
Outstanding!!!! Pat Travers & the band are one of the great underrated musicians of rock !
Great drummer. Like them. Still have that lp.
