Playing through video games with an intention to discover and collect all the digital goodies each video game has to offer. Discovery is key since I will be encountering each game the first time with no spoilers or outside help. I will track all of my progress to the best of my knowledge, enumerating what I believe there is to collect and how much I have progressed in attaining them.
My content is a let's play of a game's first playthrough. I like to play adventure games, especially of the metroidvania variety as well as roguelikes. My goal is not always 100% completion but I do enjoy a good challenge.

CC Plays: Rain World 45 - Leeches
Переглядів 1469 годин тому
I find the first pearl that will take me some time to translate in my blind playthrough of Rain World. In several rooms in Rain World, I discover a way to traverse the environment and I immediately think, "I'm sure there are other ways to get through this room, but I just don't see them." This happened multiple times during this episode, especially when I relied heavily on pointy sticks to crea...
CC Plays: Monster Train 79 - Fallen Champion

Heph the Blacksmith is my champion in my playthrough of Monster Train. It is often said that Thorns tends to be a non-optimal choice in video games. For Monster Train, these are called Spikes and, although I do believe heavily using them to not be the best strategic decision, using a little bit can be quite helpful. One of the reasons Thorns or 'revenge damage' is considered a poor choice in ga...
CC Plays: Rain World 44 - Submerged Superstructure

I discover a true underwater region in my blind playthrough of Rain World. Learning how to swim and survive through underwater areas was a challenge for me earlier in my Rain World series. Now I take the true test of my knowledge and abilities by exploring a region with entire rooms constantly underwater. The environment wants to kill my little slugcat even more than usual! New Videos every Sun...
CC Plays: Monster Train 78 - Brains Over Brawn
Переглядів 31День тому
I use my brain to build big, brawny minions in my playthrough of Monster Train. Quite a few games have a 'Brains Over Brawn' challenge or achievement or custom setting. I found it quite amusing that my solution to Monster Train's version of this was to create minions with lots of strength and health. I guess it was my champion that was supposed to be the brainy one of the bunch, but it turns ou...
CC Plays: Rain World 43 - Puppet
Переглядів 9514 днів тому
I learn about puppets in my blind playthrough of Rain World. I also die quite a few times. This particular small section of Rain World gave me a lot of trouble, which is probably partially due to my stubbornness about getting through it this particular time. This primarily happens with me when I know I *can* do something; I know I have the ability and requisite skill, I just need to apply it an...

My deck is covered in Blight in my playthrough of Monster Train. And wow are Blights painful in Monster Train. Most deckbuilders have a type of card that is considered only trash, like Monster Train's Blights, but in many of those other games they are not this hard to deal with. Usually there is some mechanism that can make trash cards bearable or, in rare cases, even useful. Even the cards and...
CC Plays: Rain World 42 - The Martyr
Переглядів 16021 день тому
I achieve The Martyr Passage in my blind playthrough of Rain World. A good purpose for an achievement in a video is to get players to try out playstyles or mechanics that they might not otherwise experience. The Martyr passage did this quite well for me. On my own, I would have avoiding ever hibernating without enough food and simply died instead. Now that The Martyr demanded that I not only tr...
CC Plays: Monster Train 76 - Stealthiest Bosses
Переглядів 6821 день тому
I counteract Stealth in my playthrough of Monster Train. I find Stealth and Damage Shield to be almost equivalent in Monster Train. There are obvious differences, such as Spells ignoring Stealth and Multistrike working much better against Damage Shield than Stealth but aside from those technical differences, both allow a unit to attack without being damaged itself. These especially help during ...
CC Plays: Rain World 41 - Garbage Collector

I find the last bit in the Garbage Wastes in my blind playthrough of Rain World. I like completing things and one aspect of completion is make significant progress by finishing a subtask or subarea. These milestones give my brain the same happy chemicals that full completion gives, just in a smaller dose. That means, I really do enjoy achieving a milestone toward a greater goal. Learning how th...

I work on my armor in my playthrough of Monster Train. Roguelikes love to provide players with benefit-over-time effects because, unlike many games, you don't have time to get lots of benefits out of such effects so they become strategically difficult to evaluate rather than something that encourages slow play. The same mechanics often show up in board games, especially those that have a limite...
CC Plays: Rain World 40 - The Hunter
Переглядів 96Місяць тому
I become a hunter in my blind playthrough of Rain World. I also learn about the importance of water, something that seems absolutely important to a game named Rain World. Water levels, mechanics, and swimming are part of many video games but it is unusual for water to be a central part of the lore for a game. I expect with Rain World that there is more to learn about the rain, shoreline, and ho...

Again, a fantastic and well-deserved milestone ♡ I'm very much looking forward to your Nine Sols play-through! :-D
Congratulations!
Congratulations man keep it up!
Congratulations!
Funnily enough I've just recently 100% enter the gungeon and I absolutely loved its just a really fun game in general so I'm curious which character's pasts have you killed and which boss would you say was the hardest to beat?
Congratulations on 400 subscribers!
That yellow bit looked BRUTAL!
Indeed! Of course, based on other comments, my approach was much harder than an intended method. I still don't know what that easier other method would have been.
Now that you've died to the rain a few times you can hear the strange sound that plays just before the rain hits. It's most noticeable at your first death since you were deeper into the submerged superstructure, although the sound can be heard throughout most of submerged superstructure at varying audio levels. I'll let you figure out the lore implications of this mysterious noise.
If I know what you are talking about, there are big thumps like of machinery moving. I have no idea what to think related to the lore of this.
The sky islands are bigger than I thought they were 🤯 I’ve always been scared of exploring here, because of the platforming!
It seems like every area has more rooms in it than I imagine through my first exploration. The Sky Islands are certainly a tricky area to traverse, but at this point I had finally gotten the movement of this game under my finger tips.
5:07 not a dead end actually! Just very hidden hidden passage over there, you even touched it
Really hope you backtrack and find a lil something you missed out Hint: A white lil rag lonely in a pole
LOL the start 💀😹 fastest death in an episode of this series? Clearly I didn’t explore pipe yard enough because I had no idea it lead to sky islands. I learn something every play through I watch
Definitely the fastest death, my little slugcat was alive for about 2 seconds that day.
Getting nomad is crazy, I think I never got it myself Congratulations
I had it in my mind to go for it, but I certainly did not imagine I'd get it this early in my playthrough. I came close to dying one too many times!
Have you been to the gutters yet?
Nope, never been to the gutters, which I'm assuming is a region.
@@collectionconnoisseur yep, if you heading back to industrial complex you might want to start looking around for hidden entrances
This is the first time I’ve seen the game remind the player that they can go back to previous regions lol
Enjoying the lets play, been listening to it while drawing
Wonderful and thank you!
Your blind let's plays are a comfort. Thank you for keeping the channel going. Have you already decided which game is next? If not I have 3 suggestions, based on what you've been playing: Kena and the Bridge of Spirits (I think I already suggested this one to you); Nine Sols; Prince of Persia - The Lost Crown.
I have already decided which game is next and happily it is on your list of suggestions! Nine Sols is my planned next blind playthrough--whenever I finish what I have on the channel now.
@collectionconnoisseur Wonderful! That's what I'm playing at the moment. I think you'll love it.
fun fact! five pebbles is the largest creature in the game that can kill you
third place is the eel in shoreline
"I placed my faith into the hands of random gods, and now I must endure it to the end."
When i saw the title i gasped! It's very rare for anyone to find this area on their first playthrough, congrats But i did yell no when seeing you walk past one of the rarest collectible items in the game towards the end... maybe you can spot it?
So, I've now watched this footage 4 times--while playing, while editing, a quality check, and after reading your comment. I still have no idea where the collectible is that I missed. I guess I'll come back to this area a later time and try to comb the seas for it.
Finally! Something interesting :3
like?.... in your youtube feed.... Or from CC. (if you mean from CC that's kinda rude)
Little tip: having bubbleweed in both hands is no different from having onky one in terms of extra swimming time You could swallow one if the two for later use in case you dont find more when you deplete the other
Oh, sad. I guess my hope of the double bubble doesn't pan out this time.
7:04 You may have noticed that dead dolphins can occasionally be found floating around shoreline, especially in heavily constricted areas or when there are large groups of them. There is a reason for that. See, dolphins move so fast that they can use their own body as a weapon, dealing damage by just ramming into stuff. It's not much, but it does stack up over time. I suspect that dolphin is not "tired". Not after 6:38 and 6:44
What are you talking about they're obviously just tired
42:19 If you look closely, on one of the poles there was a piece of white cloth that you missed. Maybe you can take it with you?
You think???
21:07 Oh I think that collectable you can only get in another campaign
Oh, interesting. This is not the only time I've seen those creepy arms that hold collectibles and there hasn't been one to get. It didn't occur to me that I might want to remember where I found them.
22:17 Should've kept the dolphin lol
Indeed!
The two haste conduits is a lore thing. There's 3 enemy supertypes, Humans, Clipped Angels, and Winged Angels that correspond to the major bosses as their forces.
Yeah, that makes sense. I guess they really wanted Haste to apply to a couple bosses and didn't want them to share troops.
10:18 I know I am incredibly late, but this is an easy lore tidbit to miss: In your actions, under Switch Spirits, it states that the Umbral Knight enables Lily to draw out the power of Blighted Spirits she's purified. So the reason Lily interacts with Spirits but the others (unless you count the Priestesses mentioned in anecdotal flavor text in various ancient rings...) do not goes right back into, 'Because the Umbral Knight is with Lily, and not any of the others.' As for 'why?' well... you know by now as much as anyone else does, but my reigning assumption at this point, based off his dialogue at the bridge in the beginning, is that by the time he got here everyone else was already dead, or inaccessible - as seems to be the case with the Priestess of the Fount.
That's neat that they added the lore to the text describing the action. And welcome to the channel!
I love the idea that Pebbles has a whole room filled with ash that was given to him. And he just sometimes checks on it, out of desperation.
It's less about the bone and more about the mask Vultures have bone masks yes, but have you seen any murals with masked figures?
Hey, just a tip! there's a pipe at 39:22 i dont think you've visited, it takes you to a whole other part of shoreline i dont think you've seen, plus a new region. check it out someday
I’m loving your theorizing, but very sad over the fact that you don’t have anyone moderating your comments so people can just spoil stuff cause they don’t have anything better to do with their lives
As a small channel, I don't have a moderator, but I am careful about which comments I read and sometimes viewers warn me about particular comments. In my experience, spoilers come mostly from people being excited and not from an ill-will or idleness.
thats absolutely crazy how you got the yellow bit on the garbage west because there is a far easyer way to get it, but it requires a gimmik that you did not discovered yet
Ha! Doing things the hard way or using an unintended path is a classic on this channel.
Tip: you don't need to hit up the moment you want to grab on You can keep the up button continuously pressed as you jump to make sure you don't miss the grab on window
Many collectables you cannot get on your own, alone...at least not with the basic slugcat
Intriguing, my mind immediately thinks of the grappling hook and riding dolphins or raindeer. Not sure what this means in the Garbage Wastes, but I imagine this refers to the same 'gimmick' as @unaverdura's comment
I love your playthroughs, CC. Would you consider Kena: the Bridge of Spirits as one of your next adventures?
I shall consider it! I appreciate suggestions.
Thank you! I really think you would enjoy it. Have a nice weekend!
Have any darkness spiders eaten you since you started glowing?
Yes, I have died to a darkness spider since glowing. No immunity gained, but a great deal of protection.
Remember you can hit escape to prevent the dialog from moving on, but it’ll still fill the text box so you don’t have to wait for it to finish loading
I’ll offer a warning, of a meta veriety. This is important for experiencing the lore hunt at all properly and is something there’s 0 in game way of knowing. Do all you wish too in the Survivor, then move into Hunter and perform him perfectly before going into any more slugcats mod charecters (also known as the downpour slugcats) MSC was a fan written, fan made project that the Devs gave their seal of approval to give some life back into the game. The writing is very different, and the story is very different as well compared to the Survivor and The Hunter playthroughs. It directly states answers to many things left intentionally vauge in the base game, and changes the mood of the story. It’s official lore, but only within its own ecosystem as a AU, the original lore is still its own thing that the new dlc is going to build off of instead.
Thanks for the direction!
The background of the sunken bit room at 40:20, and of the room at 42:20 should remind you of someplace, especially with the knowledge that pebbles ejected part of himself into the wastes...
It kind of does but I wouldn't have noticed it if you didn't point it out. The fact that the 'sandbox item unlocked' was the brown octopus was a good hint too.
My low IQ ass thought you started playing hunter already
You found the purple pearl! This is one of the best early pearls in my opinion, and that's not just my favourite color bias talking. It really is unfortunate they hid it in a place most letsplayers miss until much later. Anyway, with it transcribed, I can finally reveal what I meant by "3 very intriguing things" back in episode 28: At 9:36 you saw water vapor being released from the machinery, which you might now have some thoughts about At 9:56 you directly observed the transition between non-lethal and lethal rain, caused by you going further into the cloud layer, not the rain only starting up like you presumably thought ...and then of course there's 35:26
I do have some thoughts about the water vapor being released from machinery, I recently recorded an episode in which I talk about that, though I didn't remember that I had seen it. As for the blue lightning effect, I have in my notes two places I've seen it and haven't been back to yet and that's one of them.
hey, dont take this as a spoiler, more as a time saver: Five Pebbles will not read pearls to you, not in this playthrough. You were attentive enough to notice that he can read pearls, but only other characters might get him to do so. He has too much disdain towards the survivor to not simply toss him out of the room. im saying this in case you were about to make the trek all the way to the top of pebbles just to show him a pearl and to save you the discovery that it was all for nothing anyway, your love and effort into this game is admirable, keep it up :)
You did not need to post this much, just say he can’t read pearls for survivor if you HAD to say this
At some point, you almost start to feel sorry for Seraph with all of that daze. So much power, entirely unusable XD
This really helped me thanks
Great!
"Is the way death?" You have missed something in Pebble's dialogue
I'm sure I did, and probably still don't get it. Considering that I learned later that a camp of the iterators once claimed that dying was the solution, me wondering whether death was 'the way' that Six Grains of Gravel, Mountains Abound said they found at a time when I experienced something akin to death after meeting them makes sense to me!
