Had issues with that fork in the beginning - shop looked at it and realized it was completely dry on the inside Lubed it up no other issues since it’s been a solid performer

I love the RMX to bits but yeah i need a JD tuner but sometimes do you find its a bit hard to start? like it doesn't go first or second revolution and it takes a couple of goes at the button? ither way i love the bike and i think the JD Jeter kit will help with that but is there anything else i should look at doing along side that? i also already have a lithium battery

Mine is still running strong. On my fifth riding season on her. I've added a larger IMS tank and just bought the Yoshi RS4 exhaust system for her (have the tuner as well). Bonus is I have her fully street legal. Adjusted all 4valves for the first time with only 1 technically being out of spec. I love her even though she is a fat pig.

Hey, moto, I have the same year bike. Did you ever experience the idle being too low to where it was stalling out the bike on a tight single track and not like starting again? I adjusted the idle to be higher but have yet to go back out in single track... let me know as it would put me at ease a bit

Hey moto I have been having some issues with my rmx stalling and not like starting. Is the jd Jeter a good option? Is it hard to tune or set up? My bike just has all the EPA crap taken out and am thinking of trying the jd. Any advice?

Just checking in with you. It's mid October 2023. Are you still riding your RMX? I used to talk with you on Thumpertalk (Sinister Veritas). I just dusted my bike off after sitting for almost a year. Bought an Electric Motion Escape as a trainer and rode that all of 2023 to work on skills. Finally got on the 450 and I still love this bike. Freakin' thing started right up. With better skills love this thing even more than the first three years. Best wishes!!

i live in we-old New Zealand and im going to buy an rmx i have always really liked Suzuki and seeing what you put it through makes me think it really is a do it all dirt bike. i always in joy these vids keep em up!

This video is from 2 years ago. Just got the 2023 XTC Advanced 3 with this fork and I’ve got 134 miles of somewhat rocky single track on it and haven’t noticed any odd noise from it. I guess Giant has addressed this already?

How does this bike compare power wise to the drz with 3x3, pipe and fcr39mx? I would imagine the power would be around the same? I read that this bike uncorked makes around 41hp, which is roughly what the Drz is said to produce with the mods I mentioned.. I noticed you have both bikes, so what do you think?

I've got a 1978 F model, so it's not street legal. But I've gotten a 75 streel legal one, but it's the project you were looking for! I've also got a pair of "project" 125s, no motors etc. If I can get registration paperwork for one, I'm thinking about a Predator 224 may be jammed into it. It seems I have a fat tire obsession, because I've got a 82 CT 70 a 72 Z50 & a Coleman BT200X.

Just bought one of these bikes which is how I found your channel but your riding and the tracks are awesome.

I just finished my second season on this Fathom 27.5 with Crest 130mm fork. First ride last year I discovered dealer took delivery with a non-offset chain ring so had a proper ring installed, and I also mentioned about the fork clicking noise. They said enjoy the season and leave it winter time and we'll replace the guilty part (sleeve I believe). So this second season I enjoyed the hell out of this bike with the properly serviced Crest fork; it performed very well on the local single-track trails. Second to last ride my pedal caught a low-lying stump, I went flying - bent the steerer tube. Forced upgraded to a Fox Factory 34 Float 140mm FiT4 Kashima, same 44mm offset, and same boost 15x110 spacing as the Crest. It had the right specs and was only $550 new in box, plus tax for a left-over 2021. Was able to test it on two visits to the trail but the season is now over. The new FOX has better appearance, much quieter (almost silent), and a tiny bit plusher... but I actually would have preferred to save the cash and milked the Crest for a couple of more years if I hadn't bent it. But then I didn't have a choice. So if you're riding the Crest - enjoy it knowing it's providing a ride that's nearly indistinguishable to a higher end fork for an intermediate rider. That was approximately 1200 singletrack intermediate rider trail miles before I bent it. I'd say it was an excellent value. Shifting and brakes are functioning like new btw, as well as the dropper.

Way way back we took full system off and bunged one end up. Stood it on end and filled it with baking soda and water. Let it stand overnight and when emptied it was spotless. Brand new shining. New cleaning products like jizer stopped people doing things like that. Try it. I've never used anything better. A cup of baking soda for a full exhaust system from header to end can used to work great. Baking soda is very cheap..

Oh man your video just took me back to a great time in my life my dad bought me this identical bike from a neighbor when I was around 10 and I rode the piss outta that thing until I outgrew it and sold it to another neighbor and then bought a 79 yz 250.... like anybody gives a shit lol

If you let the clutch out in 1st gear just idling, not throttle how fast does it say on the Speedo ? 5, 6, 7mph? Strange question I know but I’ve found a street legal rmz450 for sale near me an I want to know if the bike can creep along at walking pace in the woods without working the clutch to much. Any reply would be helpful (why Suzuki didn’t go 6-speed idk)

Mine is a bit crap. Mine sometimes don’t go back to 130 and makes it look like it’s at like 110mm travel or sometimes 70mm

Just bought this bike, shame I didn't come across these types of reviews till after. Apparently the early Fathom 2021 models we're the ones with fork problems and chain drops on the highest gear (issues have supposedly been fixed in the newer ones). Tbt I really wanted the Canyon Stoic, but they've been out of stock for at least a year, plus I didn't have the budget for a Roscoe 7. There was no way for me to ride a Vitus Sentier 27 VR (wasn't going to buy one online without riding it), or the Rockhopper (out of stock locally) for a shootout with the Giant. I'm also a sucker for matte paint jobs in lighter colors. If I gotta put a new fork, and a chain guide on my mtb I'll be a little disappointed, but its not the end of the world. Frame geometry is generally praised, and coming from a rim brake bike - the disk brakes are an upgrade to me. Long story short, I will probably end up spending the same budget I was trying to avoid. The advice I ignored (from another shop) to save up an extra few hundred dollars and just get something in the 1,800 plus range was the advice I should have taken. Oh well, I'm gonna rip it on this bike anyways! See you on the trail guys :)
