Abandoned Polini 911 Replica 39cc Water Cooled Pocket Bike Runs Again After Sitting For Years
I rode it around, it runs like crap and won’t run after the choke is turned off, and I messed up the carburetor by twisting the emulsion tube, trying to remove it, and that’s when the brass stripped, so the holes are facing sideways inside the carburetor. There could also be air air leak, which I kind of doubt, but spraying brake clean around engine seals is always a good trick, but it also could be a piece of junk Chinese carburetor. Even if it ran better and went faster, I have a feeling the blata c3 clone I have would be faster than this polini clone, but we’ll see. I’ll order a carburetor, maybe I’ll do a leak down test, because sometimes compression tests can lie to you.

Use PJ1 black chain lube before every ride. That’s what I use and lots of other riders. It keeps the chain pretty lubed. Change your sprockets all at once with new chain. And set chain tension, you just want a little slack, I see you got the Ada tensioner, so do I. Works great, make sure the tensioner isn’t wrapping all around the front sprocket or it will bind up the chain, you want the tensioner to just put a little force on the chain. What sprocket ratio are you running? Nice goose grips tank, how much did that whole set run you? I’m looking to get one too soon. Love the blue color frame. Nice video. I also agree, not a fan of trail rippers, I like the solid frames more. Easier control in my opinion. I’ve seen the front fork of trail ripper snap. Scary
@@MattWard-x4f I kind of lost most of my interest in Gopeds/uberscoots, which what I currently still have lying around untouched for many months is my cylinder reed gp460 swapped single speed conversion uberscoot. The uberscoot uses a T8F chain, which is no better than what a Goped uses, which would be #20. I lost interest because of the constant chain issues I could never solve, the links binding up after about 10-20 miles, eventually self destructing and ruining steel or aluminum sprockets in the process. On the Goped I was probably running like 8/80 gearing, good for breaking 50 mph. So then I kind of started to build Goped sports, spindle drives, which did away with the chain issues, but those also have their own set of problems. All of these videos are scattered across my UA-cam channel. If I ever get back into gopeds, it’ll probably be years from now when I have my life more together while trying my best to work on cars I guess, and I’ll try to get some custom motorcycle sized sprockets made to fit on a Goped, like #40 chain, which should be much more reliable. But as for right now what I guess I’m currently working towards is trying to tow a small 12-14ft zodiac inflatable boat behind my smart car for this up and coming summer, and I’ve already bought a 2007 15hp Yamaha 2 stroke outboard. I was going to upload a video on that, but then I got a bit lazy I guess.
@@MattWard-x4f I like your scooter in your profile picture. The orange frame reminds me of this one video where some guy fitted like BMX style headset bearings into the frame, which at least looked fairly neat. One of my favorite air tire goped upgrades I won’t live without is a front hydraulic mountain bike style disk brake. The stock mechanical maddog style Goped brakes are no comparison to how well hydraulic brakes work. Best goped upgrade, along with the goose grips tank for the needed range on longer rides, and of course the exhaust and other engine mods
@@rabbitfootedkitty1339 thanks man. Definitely stick around with gopeds and don’t ever sell it, they are harder to find. I say tweak a little more with your chain slack and you’ll be good to go. Also, what motor mount are you using? Should upgrade to a steel vented clutch bell, also add a nachi bearing. It’ll eliminate any binding. Mine doesn’t bind, after you set the chain length and slack right
I didnt know you could put a clutch engine on a spindle drive???
@@briankillpatrick well you can’t say that anymore
@rabbitfootedkitty1339 does it just bolt right on and go like putting a g290rc on a spindle drive or did u have to cut pieces and add more to mount and bolt the motor???

@rabbitfootedkitty1339 what kind of coolant did it have in it? Most coolants start to become corrosive after 5 or more years, I have seen green coolant separate and leaves a green sludgey mess in the cooling system.
@@briang4470 yeah it’s been sitting with green coolant, and for years definitely, just look at the visual state of the frame and stuff. He never even peeled the blue protective film shit off the sides of it, just like those Nissan leaf badges, where they are blue and they look like the owner didn’t peel off the protective film. It had green coolant in it, and the places where there wasn’t coolant, it was rusty. I’ll probably try to run some cooling system flush through it with some straight distilled water, which I’ll only do if it’s pretty bad. I try to avoid engine flush, transmission flush, coolant flush, anything weird like that when I can. I filled it back up with distilled water, but I might put like the Honda/Asian blue shit in it since it’s probably designed for aluminum parts. I have no idea what kind of coolant is supposed to be put in it, I’d have to dig and find a manual. I know on some if not all race tracks, they require you not to use coolant because if there’s a crash or engine failure, it will spill on the track and fuck it up, where as straight distilled water shouldn’t do that I’d imagine.
@@rabbitfootedkitty1339 yes most tracks don't allow antifreeze for coolant they usually require water only. I would probably use the red Toyota style antifreeze it seems to work well with aluminum or you could get some of that "Evans" waterless coolant but that stuff is insanely expensive but it's supposed to be safe with most materials and doesn't evaporate or boil because there's no water in it and it requires a prep solvent to be ran through before using.
@@briang4470 stay tuned possibly for a 2 stroke outboard engine video, I might buy one soon for a dream project I’ve been wanting to do for years pretty much now. I don’t really have the boat or anything, YET, but I think the first step for me is the motor because it’s the most expensive, hard to find for a good price, and complicated part of a boat build

Sunroofs are junk. Unless they get used on a regular basis they are almost guaranteed to fail or leak water or both. Cars nowadays have this little thing called A/C making a sunroof pointless.
Wow someone finally got a profile picture!
Even if newer sunroofs get used often, what is BMW guilty of? ENTIRE CAR PLASTIC BESIDES AIRBAG AND CRUMPLE ZONES. All that black shit above the sunroof motor. Plastic. ABS. Maybe. I know they use PLA in 3D printing, but I’m sure not all plastic is created equal. Sometimes plastic is okay. That plastic sunroof control, take a guess how much it is brand new from world pac. Oh wait a minute, vin says 2018, “no longer available.” (Dealer only or eGay) Okay fine, used it junkyard it is. But brand new expect to pay in grand numbers, at least like $1-3k. Also, who in there right mind would warranty a junkyard plastic sunroof that’s possibly 7 fucking years old by now?? But I’ll say, even though sunroofs are for f@gs, the sunroof in my 1993 Mercedes 190e still works fine!!! I blew the engine up before the sunroof stopped working. I lost oil pressure and kept driving it. I don’t remember there being any at least noticeable water leaks either. Minimal plastic, probably only on the radiator, fan shroud, electrical connectors, and other less important than uh, OIL PANS, VALVE COVERS, INTAKE MANIFOLDS, and in newer style small Briggs and Stratton engines, FUCKING PLASTIC CAMSHAFT GEARS. 1993 was a time when plastic didn’t cripple reliability in the automotive industry yet, but yes I agree sunroofs can be problematic as fuck, especially in some newer Volkswagens, if not engineered correctly because the water drains get plugged up with dirt.
Your lazy ass should post some Goped shit I want to see how fast it would’ve gone
@@rabbitfootedkitty1339 I'm surprised that you can't get parts for a 2018 that's crazy. Usually manufacturers are supposed to support stuff for 10-15 years before discontinuing parts. Although I have tried to get some later model MOPAR parts before and ran into the same issue where they were either discontinued or had a completely unknown back order date with no guarantee on a restock even for a fairly new vehicle. And your right bmw loves to make every piece plastic and to use aluminum fasteners on their engines for some reason. I try to avoid those cars and usually try not to even help out friends with bmw or Mercedes because everything ends up being a nightmare usually. Even something as simple as replacing a brake master cylinder on one of those cars can be ridiculous to install and properly bleed.
@@briang4470I believe the law for automotive products is only 5 years or something manufacturers are required to produce maybe “most” replacement parts for a certain chassis/generation of vehicle. And yes, BMW tells you when replacing an alternator, that you must replace the aluminum bolts that mount it, and I believe rien automotive sells those bolt kits because it’s like the GI JOE doll you had as a kid, when you buy the alternator, everything sold separately. I was recently watching some Taryl fixes everything and he made a video on why Honda generators are junk. The generator he was working on was probably 10-15 years old my guess, I don’t think he said how old it was in the video, but it wasn’t some ancient artifact from the 20th century. His diagnosis was a bad inverter model, and new parts from essentially all small engine parts websites in the USA say discontinued no longer available, unobtainium. But I’m disappointed that Taryl didn’t look on eBay for a used inverter model. He said new inverter models for those Honda generators that are below 4-5k starting watts are usually over $1k to replace brand new, absolute insanity for a Honda product, which you would think would be cheap to buy parts for. The new replacement GFI power receptacle for that same generator, it’s a Honda EB300C, was an astronomical $600. When a replacement part like that costs that much money, you go buy a new Chinese harbor freight or amazon generator. We live in the disposable age for a lot of this stuff, even brands like Honda sometimes unfortunately. Toyota even sucks at making decent VVT sprockets on the more modern Toyotas, 2000-2010 or so my guess. Those sprockets make a rattle noise on cold start until the engine gets oil pressure. Not the cheapest repair, especially considering a brand like Toyota, the public image which is supposed to be the best value for reliability, where your dollar is supposed goes the farthest for a high quality well made product. You change the oil, engine air filter, timing belt if applicable, and you don’t have to worry about breakdowns going from point A to B, and you could rack up 400k miles before needing to replace the engine/transmission.
Only use the hex head tapcons and make sure you drill a little quarter inch extra or something. Run your drill bit to the correct depth, then wrap some electric tape on your drill bit so you know how deep to go next time. Hope that helps with your tapcons
Hopefully it won't be too hard to fix

@@DraconisValentis yeah we burned up probably 5 or 7 Milwaukee Home Depot 13/16” masonry drill bits trying to drill through the very old existing metal flange that got grouted over years and years ago by someone who was probably just getting paid to do a quick fix, good enough for who it’s for. I work on cars, and this was the first time for me trying to install and fix the surface where a toilet mounts to. The old toilet is probably over 30 years old, disgusting, basically uncleanable, always took me 2 flushes to get rid of all solids, and probably used more water than what it’s even worth. On top of that, it was rocking and leaking, destroying everything that wasn’t concrete around it.

Never pull the quick start cord more than three times you can risk flooding the engine. You should’ve just put on the choke. You don’t have to use the choke right after it’s been running for a while and you want to turn it back on.

I’m not no specialist. I don’t even have one yet. It’s coming soon. I just watched so many tutorials and know a lot about it before I bought one and I was just trying to help lol chill
@@TannerHunsicker Do you have any small engine experience? I actually bought another cheap Chinese one like that there in the video, like 3 months ago or so. It is green, and I snapped the frame up front, bent something in the rear suspension, in the same crash, within like the first two weeks of owning it. But with tunning small engines, you can set things like pop off pressure inside the carburetor when modifying it, change the sizes of the needles. They also put those motors on these stand up scooters called gopeds, check my other videos.
@@rabbitfootedkitty1339 I have a little bit of experience, not too much I know about a four stroke engine in a dirtbike bike and I have small experiences with engines I do have some questions, though if you don’t mind me asking about when I get my buggy it’s I’m going to get it in a few weeks
I have a question about getting a Killswitch and installing it
what type of chain tensioner do you have? I purchased my GSR46R about 6 months ago, I have the 4 stroke engine mount, and I mounted a Honda GX35 4 stroke engine to it. Yours is totally rad!
It looks like I was just running the Ada gsr46 tensioner then, but it’s fine to run without it. It doesn’t make a difference for how well you have your chain and sprockets set up, the Chinese garbage #25 chain just gets destroyed after a handful of miles and it’s worthless. Eventually the sprockets just get torn up because all the links bind up. I’ve tried T8F chain on another stand up scooter, but that’s Chinese as well and has the same issues. I’ve yet to put a real motorcycle chain on a Goped and I’m not sure if that will happen in this life of mine or not.
@@rabbitfootedkitty1339 ok, thanks for the info, so I should expect to have chain issues on my GSR46R? I did use chain lube, hoping that will keep it going for a while. If you find a better chain, please let me know and I will replace mine too. Thanks for the info.
@@zmanvideo1 Yeah I think I even had bad luck on the propane Goped scooter I was messing around with a while ago, which is like the lowest powered Goped engine in existence. Spindle drive either like a Goped sport or Bigfoot is probably the most reliable drivetrain option, nothing but the engine to go wrong really. I haven’t checked recently with different brands of #25 chain, but I remember it to be all the same garbage anyways. Maybe it will last a bit longer for you and your small slow 4 stroke. Also you said that scooter in my video was rad, clearly you’ve been under a rock or are brand new to gopeds. Just look up Derek short tangerine dream ped, Goped with polini engine, or something.
@@rabbitfootedkitty1339 ok, thanks for the info, yes I am new to gopeds, although I have been eyeing them for quite some time, I will check out Derek's videos.

That’s MY boy. As frustrated as Hank gets with Bobby, he still loves him no matter what. Heartwarming 😄
Where’d you get the pipe and what kind is it?
I ordered 2 of them and used one for this build. It’s Factory Pipe’s “Goped” pipe, but I’m pretty sure based off of the mount bracket, it was designed specifically for a sport. Not sure if they’re still in stock anymore because they don’t say in their website, I believe they’ve stopped producing them, and you have to place orders with them over the phone only. I’d say the best part about it aside from the unique shape is it has an o ring seal between the exhaust manifold and the pipe so it actually won’t leak like any old DDM sikk toys pipe crap.
@@rabbitfootedkitty1339 Unfortunately these pipes are no longer available and the company said they will not produce anymore of them. I have been trying to find one in nice condition for a few years but they are all either cut up/hacked up and modified beyond repair or they are damaged/missing parts or they don't want to sell them. The only options on the market for new goped sport pipes are the jetpro, rattlesnake and ddm dominator pipes, everyone else is either discontinued or out of stock(Even sikk toys pipes)

The cheap $100 sikk pipes have been out of stock for over a year and I don't think they will ever be back in stock, jetpro is very expensive and takes a while to get(is good quality though) and the ddm dominators suck, they are poor quality and break all the time, rattlesnake(dean) seems to be the best bang for the buck nowadays.
