Assetto Corsa EVO - First test after patch - screen+VR (Quest3, VD)
Second test conducted after the patch enabling the driving of more powerful cars.
What can I say? EXCEPTIONAL physics, outstanding car handling, sounds, dashboards, models, and force feedback-absolutely top-notch.
The graphics are still not perfectly smooth, but I wouldn’t expect that from an EA release.
Testing in VR shows that we're still in the early stages, but it's amusing to discover that with VD enabled in SSW, results in a buttery-smooth experience inside the headset, just like with Flight Simulator. The game runs smoothly at a forced 40fps instead of the full 80fps refresh sync, as you can see in the last clip with the Ferrari seemingly taking off on the descent from Mount Panorama...
I’m satisfied and can’t deny being thrilled at the thought of the same software optimized on the RING...

MSFS 2024, Queenstown Rally, NOT always the smoothest in VR (Quest3, VD)

I continue to study the experience with the new Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It's very enjoyable to tackle the Rally missions, which really push the graphics to the limit if needed, and demonstrate that the simulator still has issues with stuttering, particularly when flying low and performing aggressive manoeuvres. We all remain hopeful for more significant optimisations, and I'm still wai...

How to enjoy Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 using the Quest 3 This time, it's the turn of the magical Mach Loop, which I've visited several times, enjoying F15s and F35s flying beneath my viewpoint to be photographed. I'm attaching here a detailed guide because some doubt that a poor 3080ti can run MSFS2024 smoothly. I'll add that if the video isn't perfectly smooth, it's OBS's fault, which, d...

After a day spent testing the possible variations that provided the greatest advantages in starting and allowing MSFS2024 to express its promised potential, I've arrived at a temporary workaround to enjoy the product. Yesterday, I posted a video on how, thanks to a VPN from the UK, I managed to start the flight, but the landscapes and scenery were poor. Today, I'm posting what happens when I sw...
MSFS2024, FIRST flight on VR. Not a nice start. (Quest3, VD)

Seeing the graphical rendering of Assetto Corsa Competizione in 2D is nerve-wracking, then when you go into VR, you have to give up so much of that impact. Here with the Porsche 935, I'm taking my first steps, never driven it before (very understeery but in a pleasant way); I come out with a t...
MSFS, ULTRA smooth on Quest3 over San Francisco (Quest3-gnirehtet)

Trying everything, I couldn't not try the "gnirehtet method", which involves using Virtual Desktop with a USB cable instead of WiFi to ensure at least 149mb/s of clean bandwidth without any lag with MSFS. Why VD instead of the usual Link USB connection? Because with MSFS, it's impossible to always guarantee the minimum required 72fps as you can with other driving sims, and here come into play v...

That framerate looks awful.
You see that on video, not in the headset, please read the description.
I did the same thing on my quest 3. Is yours able to go online after doing this method? I can’t open the store with it set this way
Pretty sure your supposed to be in the valley further below you lol.
Is the quality of the video about 1:1 of what you seen? Even when I play regular games it’s recorded and on UA-cam it looks better than my pc, or or is there a bunch of blurry bubbly stuff going on outside the cockpit?
The quality is worse than what you actually see in the headset. As mentioned above, the recording and compression reduce the final output.
@@PeppeULYinteresting that’s actually a first, usually the recording looks better than gameplay, huh. (Or at least my failed attempts) definitely going to have to give my VR one more go last year I tried and immersive yeah, faster and more consistent on road courses yeah, looked like I was playing on a ps2 box tv. If you had to guess what was my bigger issue poorly optimized settings all around or not using a 3.0 or higher type C? I used my ps5 controller cord and it sucked battery only would last 3 hours, and I’m sure that’s a shitty way to basically have a mini HDMI input rending 3D
@@PeppeULYalso sorry for this question I am a tad slow, I seen somewhere you used open XR and changed nothing it would use 60% performance, would I be better off not downloading open XR tool at all? Or is it a must and have to optimize it to utilize it?
@@myck7021 yes, you can avoid it (I use it only on MSFS because his turbo mode is a very good trick) because it gives a bad performance hit.
8kx i wouldnt call popular
How do you guys managed to run in through OpenXr ? It worked for me in previous versions but not in 1.6 . It forces Oculus Mode all the time . I managed somehow to run it in SteamVR but opencomposite tools do not show up to set FFR or force resolution etc
Virtual Desktop. On VD you go straight for the XR; If you use a link connection my advice is to stay on Oculus software as it works perfectly.
@@PeppeULY Thanks! Will give VD a try than . I managed to find a decent sweetspot with link cable 72hz without SW but rain and night still is a struggle. I somehow do not find SpaceWarp any good, eyes are to picky on them frames. But than again I am on RTX 4070 and I am pushing it to the limits. Thanks anyway
@@ChristianOnChain using link, to be able to get a maximum performance, I suggest: , 72hz at max resolution from quest panel, from debug: NO ASW, 600mb encode bitrate, 4032 encode res,fov tangent 0.9,0.8 and you will see improvements, MANY.

@@THOTHvii hahahahaahha
Have you tried Meta link cable and run VR in Oculus mode (not steam) and it’s definitely got the edge over VD for me. I find I can even push to 120hz if no rain and daylight but 90hz most settings high it’s a peach ! But for MSFS2020/24 it’s VD all the way. Nice vid 😊👍
Thanks! I think so, the problem is to record the footage without OpenXR; the mirroring is stealing resources!
Show the in game graphics settings please
As written in the descriptions, High! Now I am flying on ultra thanks of the latest optimisation.
Do you notice any FPS difference when your not recording? Why you don't record your video with the quest3 instead of OBS? Leaving more system resources for MSFS2024.. Still it runs pretty good in VR I will probably get it once i upgrade my cpu/mboard/ram since that's what my bottleneck and 3090 is just waiting for my cpu..
Just a small difference because I record from another computer connected in NDI. The internal recording of Quest3 is not great when you use VD and it start some stutters... I will do another video with a detailed guide, the upgrade of a Videocard before the series 5xxx from a 3080 and above is a good way to waste money.
I doubt you got that HD quality inside your Q3 VR using a 3080/12GB. What we see here is not the VR mirror but the MSFS screen @1440p from OBS or somethin. Now the Q3 is 2064x2208, which is like rendering a scene on a screen @4128x4416, and you got this using ultra setting with a 3080 ? Actually, it sounds weird to me.
@@valerys.219 lol, why should I do that? Please check my other video and study the Virtual Desktop resolutions… your numbers are not correct. The record come from ndi plugin recorded from my Mac connected to my OBS with openxr mirror plugin.
Has to be doctored. I saw performance testing and guy was struggling to get 60fps with a 4090 on ultra.
@@Humanaut. If someone drive slowly a sport car, the problem is not the sport car. Why don't you try by yourself to follow the guide instead of this? And btw if you read, I am not going at 72fps but HALF!
From my own experiences, it's hard to get a clean picture on fs2020 on a q3 from a 4070 laptop (everything blurred aliased whatever AA algo you choose). But I hope you got such a pic. as we watched here, it means nice improvement onthe 2024 release. To be accurate, DCS is perfect with my setup, MSFS2020 was a mess. No offense, just questioning.
What is OBS NDI using OpenXR Mirroring?
streaming the content on another laptop to record outside the system , avoiding too intensive use of the videocard.
Liking it? I have a 3950x and a motherboard but no gpu yet. Looks like it might be comparable to your setup if I get the right gpu.
could you do a tutorial on setting up virtual desktop? do you use openxr? I get abysmal performance on a 3090 and 5800x3d in vr
I'll do something like a tutorial on my next video.
Mmmmm glad I watched as your pc specs may be affordable here. Thanks. Laurie. NZ. 😅😮🎉

Hello! May I give a few suggestions: soo I would recommend you to low your link stream mbs from 900 to 700- you don't see the deference, but it should help with the stutters. What type of link cable do you have? I mean how much mb it's pushing? Prolly, you should low your settings in game and in quest link app just a little bit. Turns out, that vr headsets gonna take all of your pc torque (I have 4080, and still some struggles with different types of shi), so you have to keep it in mind, that it's not working, like it should I guess, forcing you to buy and upgrade your system all the time. Also, for the better video exp, I should reccoment you to put your headset a little bit more down on your head, bcs it looks like you whatching at the roof. Debug tool setting is the crutual.I think you already know all that, but I hope, it may help you! Have a nice day, my man
but in my opinion your video looks good, exept the camera angle
@@yegorkant3789 Thanks for your reply! I recorded the "middle cut" of the mirror, I can lower the cut... About the Link, yes, same performance between 500 and 900... I check the performances gauges on debug tool. My big problems are to get what I see on video. Using openxr toolkit helps on details and QI but cut half frames. Using mirror lower the quality... and It seems I should record on another computer to eliminate the stuttering. Good news? Using a trick found here steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2932276145 improme dramatically the smoothness and the quality putting almost at 0 the frames lost (debug tool info).
The video quality is embarrassing.
Hello, As I wrote on descr. I am struggling to record what I see on the headset with a proper framerate. Even using the NDI... do you have any productive suggestion?
hi, did you use Airlink or V-Desktop.
hello, Link with Openxr+ OpenComposite
What do you mean with "Virtual Desktop with the cable trick"? is there something that I'm missing?
Hello, there is a "trick" using the cable to connect the Virtual Desktop (so you will have more mb before the lag) just look for gnirehtet!
I was once a citadel receiver. Now, I am a citadel giver.
I have a quest 3 it was my first headset. I just ordered a used pimax 8kx, because I really would like to experience this massive fov. As the higher fov the better sense of speed for flying and racing sims
have to love them aim bots
are you using airlink or a cable?
my friend is having issues getting openxr +opencompsite running correctly on his Quest 2 and AC. Could you help if he asked a question?
Hi, was thinking about buying a new VR. I can choose between pimax 8k or Q3. Im not as good as I want understanding english so... you clearly prefer Q3? Thank you
It depends, If you want an easy experience with a great quality of the lenses..Q3! If you try the wide fov with a performing PC... you can't go back.. the SMALL FOV of the Pimax is 120degrees, the Q3 has 100 degrees. But the pimax offer also 140 and 160...

Ooops, cannot edit... The Crystal also has reduced FOV but great clarity. If I were buying again I would wait for the Crystal lite.
My personal feeling it to achieve the top smoothness, without it there is not "credibility" on the VR, whatever is the level of detail. The pancake or asph lenses are a big leap forward but the scuba mask is a curse. Seriously, when you start the impact is not totally bad but after a while I feel "constricted" by this reduced fov, 100, 90.. is the same, is UNREALISTIC.
@@PeppeULY I know what you mean about the scuba mask and I agree about reduced FOVs, a friend said of his 90 degree HMD it was like wearing old motorcycle goggles. I wish the Crystal was wider but for me the clarity is worth the loss of FOV and unlike 2D at least I can look around easily. By the way when I said " The Pimax seems a little sharper than the Quest 3 ", I meant in your video, I don't actually have the Quest 3. Good luck on your VR journey.
Thank you!
The Pimax seems a little sharper than the Quest 3 and has that fantastic FOV. OTOH the Quest is probably more comfortable to wear. I have the Pimax 8KX and really liked it but I have moved on to the Pimax Crystal. It is again quite heavy and gas that blasted battery. If I were to
So the 8kx seems sharper than the quest 3 ?
