The Discovery of Desecrated Chinese Buddhist Art
The National Arts Club presents this lecture by Professor Patricia Eichenbaum Karetzky, Chair of Asian Art at Bard College, who discusses a large cache of fifth to sixth century Buddhist sculptures discovered in 2012 in Yecheng City, one of China’s important ancient capitals located within Hebei Province. These finds attest that Buddhism is not a monolith faith, but rather one involving a multifaceted, complex belief system, conditioned by local history as well as traditions related to craftsmanship, materials, and patronage.

Kv55 is Tut's father but not old enough to be Akhenaten. Nor is he the father of the mother of Tuts infants, per DNA. I think tut is son of Smenkhare and one of his full sisters, which makes Meritaten Tut's stepmother.

I love how you introduced this important, fascinating story by reading the Prologue, Charles. You are a great storyteller. Good job, Glenn!

Jessica Bruder is a fraudulent person. She owes money for a taxi ride she took from Malibu to LAX. She’s extremely bad person who harassed our company and refused to pay for the ride ( basically disputing the payment after the service was provider in good faith ) She’s trying to vehicle a message of being a role model and teaching but in fact her character is misleading and fraudulent above all. Now you know how she behaves outsides the screen. I will not trust her.

Mr. Daniel-- great presentation. Wonderful to hear the backstory to Melies' works. Pointing out which person is Melies in the films, knowing the women were performing acrobats, and that Melies had once been a magician is marvelous stuff. Some versions show a closeup of the moon being gobsmacked by the rocket... but I didn't see that here. Only to note. Thank you!

And so ends that mystery. Meaning. I now know why she hardly smiled, or when she did she would look down. And as a detective my job is to solve mysterious events. My specialty is sporting a person I'm interrogating lying. Rapid blinking. Every now and again. Constantly Looking to the left as they talk. Licking this lips in between words, or at the end of a sentence. And so on. And now this mystery is solved. Case closed. By the way. I'm referring to her time when she was on the TV show You Bet Your Life. All the best on your channel. James Ray Bond.

I am so sick of hearing about climate change. Of course it does and man in all his arrogance can do nothing about it. Ice ages and warm ages will come and go like they ALWAYS have. Stop with your blame humans first attitude. It's getting old. I was told in grade school by "experts " like u that we would be out of oil by 1999. So stop acting like you know what's going on!

The legacy and impact the America artist SUZIE ZUZEK is SAVED from being lost forever! ZUZEK is reunited with her inimitable design aesthetic. ZUZEK'S American heritage is quite important in the SUZIE ZUZEK world. What might be most revelatory to viewers is that the current Lilly Pulitzer company (Oxford,Inc./ Sugartown) does not own the first thirty years of its design heritage (1962-1985) which encompasses KWHPF (ZUZEK'S) physical archive and related copyrights. Sold by Lilly in 1985 in her company's bankruptcy, the current owners of the "Lilly Pulitzer" TM chose not to buy back the archive or copyrights. Rediscovered, saved and now owned by a private group, The Original I.P. LLC, in 2016, believed that it was important to save this iconic body of work (original paintings and all copyrights 1962-1985) and ZUZEK'S legacy. Future generations will now know the artist SUZIE ZUZEK and enjoy her brand of creative genius and gifts given to millions! Please share this heartfelt story of hope, saving the prints and legacy of an important American woman artist, SUZIE ZUZEK. Wonderful presentation! Thank you to The National Arts Club and host Gordan Kendall. To learn more: The SUZIE ZUZEK book published by Rizzoli Electa. Instagram/Facebook @SUZIEZUZEK suziezuzek.com

I moved to Colorado and found they didn’t subscribe to “ All Things Considered” and a tear came to my eye when I heard the theme song again, when they did subscribe. It was very important to him that they would be self sufficient as a nation and not to depend on importation. He charted for instance the lace making industry amongst others.
