    I really enjoy your videos. I am also above 40, mother of 2 kids and it is so difficult not to think about food. I can totally relate with being stressed about things going on all the time. I just finished my second 36h fast and trying to eat low carb to make it easier to get back on fasting. Thank you for being honest and good luck with ordering the wedding dress! 😊

    Once you are in the 'mode', dont let yourself out. Water, water, water. Try to distract yourself with a walk, chore, food prep. I find that staying on your program will lower your appetite and it gets much easier. You can do this!! ❤❤❤

    I’m new to your channel and I just love how real you are. It is what it is. I’ve failed so many diets that I just stopped counting. Watching you and your family reminds me that slow and steady wins the race. Just not giving up makes me a winner. You eat healthy and you look healthy. As for me. I’ll never be the size I was in high school. I’ve aged, I’ve had babies and I’ve lived a lot of life and I want to enjoy my life.     Glad to see you are back in Ketosis. I always run somewhere between 16/8 or 18/6 fasting every day. Mostly 18/6, but sometimes I can't make dinner until 7pm. We are very tight on avoiding sugars and our carbs are always under 25g. I have lost close to 30lbs now since 7/15/2024. My wife and I do have times when we feel hungry, or we just want to eat an entire Death by Chocolate cake, but we don't. I am a product of the 80's party life and that makes it challenging, for sure. I stopped completely and it has made a big difference in my health and weight. For me it is no longer worth it. We have 4 children and at 52 years old, I feel like I need to be around for them. Alcohol had killed my father and that took the taste for it away. I think everyone who is taking this journey has reasons. What matters is, do you really want to improve life, or is it not that important. Our children are between the ages of 21 and 9. I do sneak some of our Keto recipes into their dinner as well so they are getting, at least, some better foods in their diets. Of course they still eat all of the garbage snacks, but they are limited. We still drink coffee in the morning with only 1/2 and 1/2. Otherwise, we drink flavored sparkling water or just plain old water. Nothing else. I know it seems a bit hard or strict, but it is worth it, every bit. We have set weight goals. For me it is 210lbs. That will be a loss of 60lbs for me. My wife has a goal of 140lbs, which will also be 60lbs for her. She has lost 27lbs. September is my birthday month. I am not dropping out of the diet as a result. On the 25th, I may splurge a little, but I will be back to the diet on the 26th. There are a thousand reasons not to stick to your diet, but for me, they are only excuses, and that does not work. Stay strong and focused. It definitely works!

    I have watched a number of your videos and subscribed last week. I was intrigued by the Deer Run walking Pad, so we bought one. I also work from home and gained a lot of weight in the last 2 years. My wife has Rheumatoid Arthritis. My wife and I started our diet with a 48 hour fast a few weeks ago and now we are intermittent fasting from 8pm until noon. We are avoiding as much carbs as possible and no sugar. It seems to be going well. Our ketones are around 1.2 and our blood glucose is around 85-95. We have lost about 10 pounds. I think watching calories has been key to those results. I do not count calories, but I eat far less than I used to, and only eat twice a day. I hope you are doing well and I think you and your husband have the strength to succeed!

    I started eating oatmeal for breakfast. I kinda try to do it how my gramma used to take it- like a breakfast drink, replacing her coffee, kinda. Very diluted, with a teaspoon of sugar and creamer.

    I'm addicted watching you. I, too, struggle with keeping my sugar down and trying my darnest not to have diabetes. My family, both mom side and dad side has history of diabetes and heart disease.     Do a clean fast black tea or coffee no coconut oil stevia etc look at Gin Stephens she explains the clean fast, life changing you will find fasting for 36 hours super easy. I do this after struggling with adding cream coconut oil etc .. life changing. X

    I know nobody likes to be given advice but I am coming from a very genuine place. I am over 40, a nurse and I put on almost 100lbs since becoming a nurse due to bad eating habits, C19 and Stress. I use to fast so hard, do low carb diets and the whole works. I got down to One Meal A Day (OMAD)... lost nothing. I tried ozempic. Lost nothing but almost my life. 4mos into Ozempic... I had lost no real weight. I barely ate anything... I started having heart issues. Dizzy, fainting and racing heart. Then I started going into AFib which is the leading cause of stroke. I had a rare condition from the ozempic called Dysautonomia. None of my local doctors could treat this and I was out of work because I was too sick to get out of bed. My blood pressure and my blood sugars were bad. I couldn't regulate my heart rate. I had no health insurance and couldn't afford to travel to a Dysautonomia clinic. I was forced to eat and live differently. I couldn't leave my bed. I had an air fryer and a mini refrigerator in my bedroom. I would order doordash sometimes. It would take me a long time to go outside to get the food left for me. Long story but my body only wanted certain foods and I could only eat certain ways or I'd get so sick I thought I was going to die. I was in the ER every 3rd to 4th day. I was monitoring my blood sugars because they would skyrocket when I had episodes. During that time I lost 20lbs. Then I started getting well. Nobody knew why. I figured out it was monitoring my blood sugars. I kept my fasting blood sugars between 75-100 (anything below 110 fasting is healthy) I would check my BS before every meal. If it was below 100 I allowed myself to eat. One hour after eating if my blood sugars didn't rise more than 40pt. I would go about my regular day. If it was higher than 40pt rise... I'd exercise and check again in an hour. If he came down to below 140. I'd drink a good amount of water while relaxing. I never drink water when my blood sugars arr blood 100. My body told me what it needed by making me sick or not making me sick. I am almost 100% well and down 42lbs. I also eat my biggest meal (whatever I want) within an hour of waking up. Then 4hrs later if I am hungry I will have a small to medium size lunch depending on my blood sugar. Then I fast or have a small snack at dinner time. I eat the majority of my food first meal. I eat what I want. I never "diet" and I am rarely hungry. I am burning body fat without all the effort. Most of us have a glucose management issue and not a fat burning issue. When you understand properly glucose management... changes your whole life. Just something to think about. I hate seeing women struggle the way I did with my weight and self-image.
