Toot That Trumpet Deep River Boys 1941 "The Deep River Boys sing an exciting version of Toot that Trumpet (1941), staged as a club setting with lots of dancers, Chinese paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling, & a lively trumpet player. "The dance spills out into the street where we see a super jitterbug routine in front of a brownstone's stoop. The uncredited dancers are Whitey's Lindy Hoppers...

It looks better when they do it....
Wow is all I have to say ❤
Original Break Dancers and New Jack Swing love it
1:25 is the root of "pop lockin" dancing
NO 😑 just cause something looks similar to you doesn’t mean it’s related at all. Just making stuff up. It’s more Tektonic than pop lock 🙄🙄🙄
💯👍🎉🎉🎉
I absolutely love this video. I must have seen this a 100 times now
Kid and Play !
обратно к обезьянам.
Made my day
Как легко они жвигаются, будто ничего не весят ❤❤❤❤
Absolutely mesmerizing.
Now I know we're 90’s rap group got their moves and style from
That second dance was amazing
When you watch this in 2024 and you initially thinking it's a video about Original A.I. 😢
I'm glad I have no clue what you are saying. 😏
@@dopnaiIn the title, 'Original Al' (Allen) looks like 'Original AI' (artificial intelligence). I'd been looking at, and dealing with a lot of A.I. stuff, deep fàkes etc before watching this video. So in 2024, a person will easily see the name Al and immediately think it's some (A)rtificial (I)ntelligence video. That felt like a long, possibly confusing explanation, but if you haven't been on the 'A.I. train', I totally get the confusion 😉
I had no idea most of the dances we did in the 80s come from the Charleston! Wow
Amazing, but not so helpful for partner dancing Charleston. But still, terrific.
I cannot imagine Lew Grade doing this , but then again he was World Champion Charleston Dancer in 1928 , so what do i know ?
He makes it look so easy. ❤
I know!! It's super hard and requires a lot of stamina and flexibility.
Love it!!
so good to see this. I think then is more rich haha

There newbies.. Take THAT!!!!!
YES WE LOVE CHARLESTON

These guys would be laughing at all the "original" hip hop styles of today. These guys even preceded the Nicholas Bros.
Speaking of, I was actually at an event in DC 20 years ago that featured Fayard Nicholas and Frankie Manning. Frankie was the lead choreographer for the Savoy/Whitey's Lindyhoppers of which Leon James and Al Minns (in this vid) were members. So they were all contemporaries. Frankie has a lot of amazing stories about tap dancers and Lindyhoppers sharing the stage back in those days. And the Frankie Manning Foundation is all about connecting modern day dancers (Hip Hop etc) with their roots ✌🏽
That's really interesting. Thanks! @@7roach
Huge
Trying 2 have my dancers do those final exit moves where they pile on each other, Is there a name of those moves that I can research & find a tutorial ?....looks easy enough, but would like 2 see a breakdown of it. CAN ANYONE HELP ?
You might already know that it's from or inspired by Whitey's Lindyhoppers moves so looking at the clips of A Day at the Races and watch it in slow mo. That would get you going until you find a breakdown. I wonder if the names are in Frankie Manning's book.
Okay, let's not talk about stealing... Anyway, Chaplin stole the Moonwalk from Bojangles.
The Godfathers of Hip Hop dance!
My 91yo gpa just mentioned doing the camel walk to me, this is amazing!! ❤
😁😎😉😚
Beautiful music for dancing in this 2023
Evolution of Hip Hop dance and music!
μέγα ταλέντο !!
cela met de bonne humeur, j'adore !
looks like bobby brown and other early 90s hip hop dancing
This is so dope!
It's a shame how these people were treated so badly as they enriched American popular culture.
All people were treated inhumane. Color of skin has nothing to do with hate. Sometimes people of the same race, culture, and religion treat each other with more hate than the opposite groups.
Quien vino por el video de los wachiturros? 😆
Does anyone know who the band is? Musicians?
When they recorded this - the dancers, the band, the camera man - they had no idea it would be immortalized on something called the Internet and viewed by millions of people in the future.
This would be true for everything made the next 60 years.
They knew the internet was coming, idiot

Better than the Tik Tok "dances" ngl. The leg movements are quite mesmerizing. If you're wondering why I'm here.... it's school-related.
