Nope, I don't have a Black Flag patch, for I never got into patches. I never owned a denim jacket with, nor without, sleeves. ua-cam.com/video/SzybS58UKOE/v-deo.html I know by chance, I did happen to acquire two or three patches that are lying around somewhere, but I do not recall what they were, definitely no Black Flag patch, but I believe I have a V.RƎVERSE, a band out of Chicago, who came through Tucson and my friend's band was on the bill. Having gone to school for a couple years in Chicago just a few years prior to this gig, I shot the shit with one of the band members at their merch table after their set. I purchased a CD, and the dude threw me down a V.RƎVERSE patch. Not the greatest band, but decent enough to spend $5 on a CD. One member was previously in ID Under & 8 Bark, and another cat was previously in Hee Hee Wives, and after the dismemberment of V.RƎVERSE, two of the members would later reunite in 97-Shiki, one of which would also play in My Lai, and Kill Sadie, and yet another guy would play shortly with The Vindictives. Some of the other bands the members have been involved with are Thee Arthur Layne, The Retirement Club, Fourth Rotor, and Blasting For Drilling . . . if you happen to be familiar with any of those bands. This being the first video of yours I've seen, I have no clue as to whether you would enjoy any of those bands, so I won't be making any suggestions, but I will say that 97-Shiki does have somewhat of a unique sound. However, you have a rocking taste in music, so I will be subscribing to view more videos. I guess I should say, that although I have yet to get familiar with The Vindictives' musisc as I have been meaning to do, I have a compilation that has one of their songs on it which I really dig, called Dummyroom! Here's the who comp. Achtung Chicago! Zwei! ua-cam.com/video/DHbpBAnz2es/v-deo.html And Dummyroom is the second track on the comp. Psst, I also dig the 5th track on this comp.: Naive by Cap'n Jazz . . . okay, I will make a recommendation because I forgot how rocking this comp actually is, so I must recommend you give a listen to all tracks on this comp. Yeah, there's some good bands on this comp . . . and I was about to list some of them for you, but then I realized I would be listing every band practically, so I'll just mention a couple of my personal highlights: Trenchmouth, Gauge, Smoking Popes . . you know, that wouldn't really narrow it down much for me neither, so I'm just quitting there and leaving what is, to be. Now, that we have completed the scenic route loop, back to the intended essence of this comment. So, I have no Black Flag patch . . . I guess I'm not punk enough. ua-cam.com/video/gG74XHIg7I8/v-deo.html However, what I do have is a vinyl 12" with Henry Rollins "signature" on the front cover of an album that he didn't even sing on! It's the 12" 45 RPM, EP "Jealous Again" with Chavo singing. Henry signed it near the bottom, between the "U" and the boot, not in cursive, just plain print it reads "HENRy" with an extended tail on the bottom of the "y" leading to the infamous four bars of Black Flag IIII and finishes with two underlines. Anyway, thanks for sharing, I look forward to viewing more content!
Plastic Passion - Not Art Gun Club - Sex Beat Both cool songs! Check them!
Who is singing this? I searched this song up it was being sung by men
This video is why I asked ur height in another video cause you look so tall here like ur head is touching the ceiling haha
Gen-z recommending? Lol
Um sorry for the weird question but what does the "wata" in your "katawata" name mean? Is it pronounced wata or vata? To be honest the way I found this channel is kinda random youtube just randomly suggested me your youtube channel even though I don't listen to punk.... But I've been enjoying your videos a lot so I'm glad for it
@@guyperson5120 it's more like a silly name like a play at how you prounounce "what the-" as wata and then it rymes with kata
@@avampirechick740 ohhh that makes sense its similar to my moms name ekaterina shes eastern euroepean people called her katy here, so i guess you can be called katy or would that be weird?
@@guyperson5120 i mean its kata so being calledy katy would be weird to me :'D
@@avampirechick740 HAHA good point kata is a completely different name from katey. but its like the americanized version LOL
I’m already nine seconds into your video and I love your style. It’s so cute and cool at the same time. And I’m considering getting a new piercing as well, so this video is really helpful for me too.
Great list, Kata. I'm an old guy and was able to see quite a few of these bands playing live in the 80s and early 90s.
@@marcharley6465 jealous. For me im in europe so i never got to see any popular ones besides maybe some goth bands :'D
@@avampirechick740 I'm English and saw those bands in London.
Been searching for a video AND FINALLY FOUND ITT horray :3
lunch... as in: "when she was really thinking / about all the ham and cheese sandwiches in the next room"? ...which is from some obscure 80s song, Siouxi and the Banshees maybe. ;-)
It makes me feel good to see that you know what real punk music is. All these clown wannabe kids nowadays think punk is the ramones, blink 182, green day, the offspring, paramore, and all the other no talent, conformist, corporate puppets out there. Your band list is a solid one! KEEP PUNK ALIVE :)
The Ramones were one of the progenitors of the genre. Just saying
Are you going to try streaming? Maybe you can make some good money from it. I liked some of the music you showed
@@guyperson5120 ill see maybe some day
@@avampirechick740 Hey the reason I edited my comment was cuz I found the lyrics in one of the songs kinda depressing I don't know much about punk I mostly listen to indie rock but I liked most of the songs
Kata I just got into a biking accident. I was riding on my bike but as far as I know it's legal here. What do you think?
Kata I almost broke my wrist bikin on my ebike fuck Kata my favorite songs are Saturnday by Nyxy Nyx and Nu Punk by Ovolov they may be hard to find on youtube
minor threat is shit
i love substances
idk
Great, punk never die 🔥🤘 saludos
I'm a teen now, and I know my 6 year-old self would have loved that.
i can reccomend you better punk bands than most of these
@@emilianosintarias7337 it really depends on your taste punk is a wide genre
@@avampirechick740 , yeah punk is a wide genre, much wider than this. but not everything depends on taste. and punk is not just sounds
@@emilianosintarias7337 i prefer hardcore punk so thats why the recommendations were mostly that :'D
@@avampirechick740 yeah hc punk is best but that's not what i mean. you would hate slapshot and bikini kill shows, and they would hate you. Many bands like government issue are just not that moving or powerful or interesting or unique or pretty or harsh or whatever, compared to so many others. You are missing out on a lot of hardcore punk 80s through 2010s you would love, but it's all their waiting for you : D Fugazi were a great band though, i skipped school when i was 15 years old with 2 friends, we hitchhiked on the highway to the city all day to see them. arrived at night - there was no stage, it was hundreds of people over capacity, and the whole room was a single tidepool of sweat moving like a single wave. a life changing gig. you would've liked it
i'm from Brazil and I stumbled upon your channel, so I will recommend you some classic Brazilian punk bands if you like: ratos de porão, aborto eletrico, inocentes
Hell yeah brother
Anti-nowhere League
Gorilla Biscuits!!!
Truee! Forgot about them
This brought me back to me punk roots growing up as a kid and a beginner Musician.... Good Times and most of it is still as relevant as it ever was. Nice work 🤘🏻

i am a fan of your videos
@@Karla_Martinez2024 im glad :'D
I'm sorry to hear about your medical issues. I hope everything's alright now. 🙏 Thanks for the band tour 👍 The only punk band I've heard from your list is The Exploited, and I think I still have their cassette somewhere. My best friend in primary school was into punk, but I moved away before he could really influence me. The new friends I made were into metal, so I ended up leaning toward that as well. SOAD became my favorite band, and I find it interesting that kids today still love them.
Dead Kennedy's ftw
Kata do you have a Discord account? 🖤
I do but i havent used it in 2 years
Just stumbled upon this video, what is this channel about?
Just generally talking about my interests
@@avampirechick740 I presume one of those interests is Punk, in that case, do you listen to any Crossover Thrash? Just curious.
@@coolcommenter2727 ah you mean like suicidal tendencies? Yeah ofc
@@avampirechick740 Yeah, speaking of metal what do you think of Obituary? I've heard they're a Death Metal band that's a bit more popular in punk communities but not 100% sure.
@@coolcommenter2727 i mean i used to be a metalhead before i went into punk more. Mainly into trash and death metal so ofc i know them :'D. I think they're cool
