A quick view of the Mesquite NV Car Show January 2025. This is only a small portion of what was available to see in this car show. It was well represented!

A fun day trip to Vegas to explore some of the activities there. It was a fun adventure. A little expensive, but I guess it's Vegas so what do you expect! Kids would love this place too but we really enjoyed the Space experience. The LiteBright show was okay too, but we got bored pretty quickly. Even the interactive parts of that show didn't hold the kids attention. But a nice day.
Donkey Museum Mesquite NV

A quick, unique museum. It's a small building but well put together. Lots of information about donkey that I never knew I needed to know. It's really a museum to give information to support fund raising efforts to provide refuge sanctuaries for donkey that are released into the wild. While this isn't the type of museum I'd go back to again and again, it was a quick trip and only took about a ha...
Ogden Union Station #trains #museum #ogdenutah

A few hours spent in the Ogden Union Station. My main complaint was that it was a bit confusing where to go, what to do. There are four different museums in the building and one ticket entry gets you into all four. Also, be sure to look up the open days/hours because they are closed on some days. My favorite was for sure the train museum. The cowboy/Wild West museum was sooo small and a lot pac...
Brigham Young Winter Home

This is the Brigham and Amelia Young Winter Home in St. George, Utah. The Mormon prophet spent winters here as he aged and became less able to cope with the northern Utah winters. From what the tour guide said, he only brought one wife here, Amelia. #brighamyoung #mormonchurch
Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum St George Utah

This was an afternoon adventure. This place was good sized and sooo many exhibits! Kids would love this place. Also a good place to take your sportsman and tell him it's a Cabella's type place and it would save you a lot of money on actually taking him to Cabellas lol. I loved that there was a huge variety of animals and all were taxidermy so very realistic looking. It would be cool if they wou...
Grafton Utah Nov 2024

A quick day trip to Grafton, Utah ghost town. Near Zion NP, this was a few hours trip. Beautiful scenery. We had actually tried finding this place a while ago, but got lost. No idea how, since it was pretty easy to get there.
Geocaching

Another fun activity to get us out of the house. Geocaching can be a new hobby for just about anyone! Can do it right in your own neighborhood most likely. This video has brief tutorials as well as adventures finding a few.
The Mob Museum

A fun outing to the Big City. Sin City! The Mob Museum was better than we expected. Much bigger and well done. We spent a couple of hours here and could have easily spent more if we watched all the videos and read all the plaques. We just did the general admission and didn't do any of the "extras". Those could be fun too. It was a little pricey around $30 each, but we found a coupon online and ...
Valley of Fire

This is another of our favorite day trips. It can be a couple of hours or all day adventure or even camping. Lots of hiking for different skill levels or can be done from the car window. This is a great trip for Fall, Winter or Spring. Too hot in the Summer.
Red Hills Desert Garden St. George Utah

This was a quick day trip to St George. The Red Hills above St George have this nice park dedicated to water conservancy. It's a well paved walkway with paths and canyons and water features. Attached to the park is a recreation area with hiking and climbing through sandstone hills. We chose to stay on the paved walkways of the gardens. We've been here before when it was packed and it was imposs...
Lower Flat Top Drive Sandstone Art
Переглядів 1102 місяці тому
While this sandstone art is controversial here in Mesquite NV, I think it's fun and shows great talent. It's a short drive and mostly hidden unless you are really looking. It's amazing how quickly the sandstone erodes and degrades. A fun quick outing. The last two minutes of the video is the entire drive where the sandstone art is displayed.

Gardening 2024

We have almost always done a small garden over the years, but this year now that Jeff has more time on his hands, he wanted to plant carrots and peas so we did. Wow, they did so well! I've always had trouble growing big or straight carrots, but apparently Jeff has the touch! We did a couple experimental crops this year too. I get a lot of joy out of planting a garden and watching things grow. T...

That looks like a fun place.
It was interesting. A lot of wildlife viewing without bugs and heat or cold lol
Our first year we grew everything in milk crates on a concrete slab. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Great job. 👍🏻
Milk crates is a great idea too! Thanks for watching!
@@TimeOnOurHands-Francis Just line the crates with garden fabric. We great tomatoes, peppers, strawberries and more.
New Subscribers here, great video love it out there, the wife and I are doing the same thing, just not retired yet , couple years 😌 enjoy your adventures , be safe out there and maybe we will see you out there somewhere
Welcome to our channel! I hope we can provide you some inspiration to things you can look forward to once you are free! Maybe try some day trips to practice up for the real thing ;)
@@TimeOnOurHands-Francis yeah we are doing weekend trips right now and vacation from work 😌
Awesome and a hot time of year, but you survived it! Thanks for sharing the adventure and take care.
It was hot, but still a fabulous trip. Thanks for watching!
Newspaper Rock is another easily accessible petroglyph site.
Mudfossils University, must see.
I agree! It was very interesting to try to interpret what they could mean.
They’ve added fences recently so no climbing around to see them all anymore but probably a good move to preserve them!
@@TimeOnOurHands-Francis everything that isn't fenced is tagged here in California.
Went there in the middle of the winter 20 years ago. Great experience
Middle of winter would be a good time when it's not so hot!
@@TimeOnOurHands-Francis snow on the ground
That would be a beautiful picture!
Great photos!
Glad you like them!
Quite a bit different scene from the 150th anniversary of the driving of the golden spike out there on May 10th, 2019. It was very crowded with over 23,000 people out there. In your view from about :41 to 1:03, the fields in the background, from the near sagebrush to where the hills started, far off, were probably close to 10,000 vehicles! It was pretty nuts out there. I'm glad I can say I was there on that anniversary, but I don't ever want to be there with that many people again. I'll be 95-years old when the 200th anniversary rolls around, so I guess I won't be able to make it. Your experience was more normal and enjoyable.
I can't even imagine that many people there! The roads aren't big! You need to make another trip there when you can actually enjoy the visit. I gather you enjoy everything trail related, have you tried the Ogden Union Station? You can even climb on the trains there.
@@TimeOnOurHands-Francis Oh yes, I have been to Ogden Union Station a couple of times. They do have some amazing pieces in their collection. And I have been to the Golden Spike park 3 times. I love it much better without the huge crowds. On those "normal" days when there are fewer visitors, it is much easier to imagine what the area was like in 1869, plus to enjoy the locomotives and the exhibits. I'd love to go back to both places. Thanks for your recommendations. 🤠👍
So beautiful! Love seeing all these sites. And it was nice to see you and Jeff too!!
Nice! I was hoping to see you and Jeff though
Maybe in future videos, this time just trying to figure out how to get it published lol
Fun trip! Nice presentation.
