I Asked My Neighbor Why They Moved To Boise Idaho From California
I was born and raised in idaho. As were my parents and grandparents. But now its ruined by californians seattle wash and portland ore liberal sick people. Stay out
I'm from Alabama and have lived in major cities, but I love north Idaho and have lived here almost 20 years. I love the people, the politics and the cold weather. It is one of the few places where you don't feel like a stranger in your own country. The government will force the endless legal and illegal migrants to come and destroy it like locusts, if they are able to. The maniacs who run this country want my people to be beaten, robbed, humiliated and to pay violent scumbags in the process.
Lol because there not too bright
🤣 I only personally know of one. It really doesn’t happen often.
As a Californian any hostile Idaho or Texas or Colorado fill in the blank residents can easily be calmed down and sorted out by asking them what branch they served in? If you fell out of your mamas crotch and think you own the state because that's where you landed but have done nothing to serve this country then you can kick rocks.
I wish every Californian would go back to California!
Well this one isn’t leaving. 😉
Boise winter - extreme, ha. Growing up in the greater Boise area the winters, except for 2017, snowmagedon, have been minor. Move north to central idaho and deal with 5-6 months of winter, then you can say it is extreme in Idaho, but down there in the Treasure Valley, meh. One winter issue in the Treasure Valley though is when the inversions hit and you don't see the sun for weeks on end. That is when a drive up to Bogus Basin to ski and get above the inversion is a must!
I would absolutely agree that winters here are incredibly mild. And that’s coming from someone raised in the sunshine of California.
Great to know!!!
Watch out for those rogue chickens!!! 🐓
These are all great ideas!!! I love the Parma drive in!!
Who doesn’t love a drive-in theater! So fun!!!
I have seen videos like this from Texas. I think they are just trying to get California's to leave.
Trying to be honest about why someone might leave but… very few do. Can’t speak for Texas. I am sure weather is a factor there too.
Everyone I know who moved to Idaho love it, but I can see why the locals resent all the Californians moving there. I heard that an In & Out just opened up, and I said to my wife, Idaho is over. It will become California soon.
No!!! One in-n-out California does not make. Idaho is a beautiful place to call home. Some lifetime residents are vocal about the influx of Californias but most are so super welcoming!
California is becoming less feasible for the Young & Old. If Faith, Family, Country & even Farming or other Family run business are important to you, Idaho is a great option.
It truly is a beautiful place to call home!
California is a ticking TIME BOMB. Completely UNSUSTAINABLE for Insurance. Now add all resources taken by massive, illegal Immigration. Like - housing, healthcare & schools. Returning to California isn't really an option. Idaho is now home for many great reasons. 👍🙏🇺🇸
Good for you for making the move. It’s hard to leave California but once you make the leap, you wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.
@@EricaToffel So true! It's a privilege to be here.
This tendency to make everything about politics - and racism - is unbelievably - disconnected from NATURE - so backwards, so profoundly ignorant. In terms of WHITE NATIONALISM - humans tend to migrate where they can get their genetic needs met. Our skin color is a by-product of environment, suited to specific environments. You can't put a cactus in the rain forest and expect that cactus to thrive, but we humans want to mix everybody up. Well, that ain't going to be good for everybody. Let people go where they're naturally wired to go - to get their needs met and thrive. That's BIODIVERSITY. What these people are doing in the name of "diversity" is eradicating it - homogenizing it, and, therefore, destroying it. Naturally, many humans are going to migrate towards regions that make sense to their genetics - intuitively. That's not a supremacist thing. That's not a dominance thing. It's not racist. That's NATURE. That's NATURAL. Both my parents are Greek - and moved to California (because it most resembled Greece) after the war and to escape Communism. Well, I'm very drawn to Greek-like landscapes. My husband's family are Swedish, and they love it up North. I've considered moving to Idaho - but I don't know if I'm biologically wired to be able to handle it - unlike people with Northern European heritage. In terms of politics - there are extremist on both sides - and that's what sane humans strive to avoid. The rest of us just want to move on and live in collaboration and cooperation with nature and each other.
I would absolutely suggest visiting in winter! See if it’s mild enough. It may not be, but you won’t know if you don’t visit. 😉
Thank you for your honesty
It helps to know why people stay and why some move away.
I believe they move back because Idahoans won`t put up with their California bullshit.
Most stay once they have arrived. 😉
No free shit in Idaho!
I moved to Nampa from Sonoma County, CA a few months ago and have found it difficult to adjust to the very hot climate with so many days in the triple digits. I also miss the smaller grocery stores such as Oliver's Markets, Sprouts, farmers' markets and would love more mom and pop restaurants and quaint coffee shops and cafes. Hoping as it continues to grow here these family entrepreneurs will come here with less chain restaurants and large chain supermarkets. However, there are a hundreds reasons to leave California and happy to have done so.
I live in Santa Barbara county but I spent all my summers in ID as a kid, mostly in the Boise area and mountains nearby. The summers are so much hotter in ID and I hate the heat!
@@lisayoung5136 Yeah, Santa Barbara next to the ocean is a very mild climate.
This has been an unusually hot summer and the smoke coming in from the CA wildfire makes it all seem worse. You should be able to find your smaller markets, local restaurants, farmers markets in Caldwell, Kuna, Boise.
Hard to compare Boise and Santa Barbara climate for sure.
Could it be the military missles in thier mountains💥💥❓ enemies are gonna hit those hot spots. They know where all our weapons of destruction are, supposidley hidden.🤡🤡🤡
🤔
Sand point is the most beautiful place in Idaho !! we were going to move there in 2018 but my 26 year old son pass away do to brain cancer, but we couldn't leave because the only connection we had left was the Cemetery.
you could re-inter him wherever u want to go. I'd encourage it! Sand Point and its region is truly nice.
I can understand wanting to stay close to him but also know he’d want you to be in a beautiful place where his memory could live on with you.

I'm from Washington. In my subdivision I have seen at least 3 neighbors who came from California and in a year they moved back. I left Washington too, and now live in Nevada. It's hard to leave behind the sun
Few move back once they get here but the weather and sun is certainly a big factor.
Great video! My son is coming to visit his friend next week .🎉
Hopefully he can check a few adventures off his list!!!
It's all cyclical, but Idaho's economic recovery will be an extended one. Oncethe building comesto a halt, it's going to crash pretty hard. Wages, jobs, businesses, and services will follow.
You may have a different crystal ball than me - appreciate the feedback though!
Please, do go back. Lol!
Not many do!
I would not even consider moving back to California once I moved out. there are 48 other states I could go to that are better than California.
It’s hard to make the first leap but then once you do, you wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. 🤣
In the past 2 years, friends of mine have moved from California to: Idaho, Florida, Texas, Tennessee and North Carolina. None of them will ever move back.
I talk to buyers all the time considering all of those states. We considered NC at one point too but ID ultimately won out for a number of reasons.
We left California for North Idaho 15 years ago because of the friendly people and the FREEDOM! You can literally feel it in the air.
They might be leaving Idaho, but I doubt there are many returning to California. Evidence? References? Documentation? I'm all for free speach, but in today's digital world, It's so easy just to make a statement without backup data. Be careful what you believe online.
I only know of one personally who left to return to CA and one that headed to Colorado. But few leave once they make the move.
The ones I know who left here were left wingers who wanted like minded kooks to talk to and couldn’t find any.
I only know of one who left to return to CA. Most that make the move stay put.
The question really shouldn’t be why. The real question should be. Do they need help?
We may not understand, but I guess they have their reasons. 🤷♀️
All the major cities, towns are overpriced, overcrowded, overhyped, overwhelmed.
I would say that could be every major city, regardless of state.
How about the few locals born and raised here that have seen the serious loss of the quality of life that floods of people and the infrastructure can't handle the massive traffic and sprawling housing and the miles of ugly apartment buildings that have destroyed the once beautiful town ? I would have never entertained the idea of moving out of Boise, my hometown of 68 years because of the huge loss of the quality of life now. However, I would never move to California, infact you couldn't pay me enough to live there.
I wish I had a good response for you but I realize the change over the last several decades has been something that those born and raised in the valley have had to endure. Growth is great for those moving in but hardest on those watching their quiet city stretch at its seams.
Its dangerous to be pregnant in Idaho. Good luck finding an OB/GYN. Also if there is a problem with your pregnancy which happens more than people think don't expect they will treat you in state because of the archaic laws they have passed. If you're thinking of starting a family think about another state.
Are you talking about starting a family or ending them? Your message is unclear.
Housing isn't cheap in Idaho because California folks cashed in on their California homes and paid cash for many homes in Idaho. Drove the prices thru the roof.
They know that they are not wanted. 🙋
Idaho was once an option we considered for retirement. One Californian is one too many so we're looking elsewhere.
wow, way to be a reactionary narrow-minded simpleton! woohoo!
I don't have any Chicken Goats.
But if you did…. We’d find the right neighborhood for the chicken goats. 🐐
It’s because they’re bored and don’t know what to do. A lot of them are idiots. Some are having an existential crisis. Some both.
Don't say your from California.
Don't forget about smoke season!
Wages are very low.
True, Some can be but my kid is making $18.50/hr which I think is comparable to other more expensive states!
And winters have much shorter days in the winter than in CA.
That’s a huge one! It’s nearly dark when kids get home from school! 😳
So, the place all the racist nazis moved to in the 70s, 80s and 90s is full of Nazis? No way!
People in Idaho treat everyone from California like crap even if they share the same values …Very closed minded people I found
What part did you visit cause I have never found that to be true.
@@EricaToffelI stayed in a small town named Emmet for 6 months and Idaho Falls for a year..
🤔 That’s surprising. But smaller towns can be a different beast altogether. Although both Emmett and Idaho Falls have grown in the past few years. Aren’t as small anymore.
All I heard was “ go back to California “ when I visited a friend.
What part of Idaho did you visit?
The dislike of Californians is very evident. We were just in idaho on vacation. Pulled into a parking lot at a grocery store and there was a man walking from his car towards the store. I stopped the car, smiled, and motioned for him to go ahead and cross in front of us. He scowled and mouthed "I don't trust Californians"! I had to laugh because it was so ridiculous. Like I'm going to run him over? Omg, it was actually pretty comical but just goes to show the dislike of Californians. Sad thing is that we have the same conservative convictions of most Idahoans. It's not my fault I was born in a liberal state! Lol!
So not true. Nobody is leaving. it's a bit crowded here.
I only know of one 🤣
Commiefornians are locusts, they sell their home, move here vote as they did in Gavin land discover winter, discover freedom and the 2nd Amendment and off they go. To destroy the next eco system (see Austin Texas)
I moved from Ca to Idaho in 2022. I think I was prepared for how cold it gets; but not for how LONG it is cold. Idaho has short-sleeve weather about 10 weeks a year. But that's okay. I wouldn't move back to Ca to save my life.
What part of Idaho did you move to?
Home is home. Glad I never left. You want change to how things were start holdinh the people running the state accountable
That’s a good plan!
and are u doing that with your openly extremist GOP legislators? appears not, bcuz the abortion law is not just antiamerican but repugnant! It jeapordizes a woman's life itself, let alone her health and future-fertility! Do ya'll know nuthin about basic physiology in pregnancy? U disgust me! and then some!
cuz its cold boring& filled with th kkk.
