Stocking fish in Thailand at the Vajiralongkorn / Khao Laem Dam ปล่อยปลาสู่เขาแหลม Fishing Thailand
Hi, guys. In this video I travelled out to the Vajiralongkorn Dam (Khao Laem Dam). Where I released fish with a group of anglers and representatives from the Electric Authority of Thailand and the Water Authority of Thailand. This is the 4th year that they have done this. They take donations from the Electrical Authority of Thailand, the Water Authority of Thailand, anglers, and local businesses that have an interest in the dam. The money that they collect from these donations is used buy some fish and release them into the dam. This year we released some Siamese Carp, some Julians Carp, along with some Rohu and Black Shark minnows. I will leave a link in the video description to Tom Vib. He has a UA-cam channel, and this is the guy that organizes this event every year. He also has many videos on his channel about fishing at the dam that might be interesting to some of you. After releasing the fish into the dam, I travelled to the raft that I fished on last time with John and Big Dave. Fished on the raft for two nights, two days, Got a good mix of fish again. Really enjoying that raft. I'll leave a link also in this video description to that raft so you can contact them if you're interested in fishing there.

Hi guys. I this video I visited a Guy named Mr Saner. His hose backs on to the Chaophraya river in Pathum Thani and he allows people to fish for 50b a rod. You do need to book up in advance to reserve your place on the bank and it can be very popular on the weekend so book up and get there early would be my advice. While we where there Mr Saner had to turn people away as they where a steady str...

    • @Fishinginbangkok
      @Fishinginbangkok Місяць тому

      yes your handy will be the color of the braid the first time out but over all JOF is one of the better braids. I tend to use Jof, Kastking 4 or 8 depending on the set up and the Manster if i want something very soft like on my baitcaster for throwing lures. they are cheap and strong. I don't doubt that some of these higher end braids are better but are they that much better to justify the extra cost and i can change out the china braid like 3-4 times for the same cost as the high end braid. Check out The Line Laboratory on youtube. he tests a lot of braids and is doing a gr8 job at it. very informative.

    • @Fishinginbangkok
      @Fishinginbangkok Місяць тому

      There a gr8 real. Only potential downside. would be the line capacity if you fished at Bungsamran as the lake is huge, if you hooked it to something big it could spool you. but I have fished at Bungsamran using a 8000-OC loaded with 60Lb braid and caught a 107lb Mekong and it handled it just fine. Other than that most fishing lakes are no a problem as they are much smaller so the fish will just run out of runway. .

      @@Fishinginbangkok thanks for the advice. Also Can you tell me where in Bangkok I can buy a decent powerful rod, Ideally I would like something that is either telescopic or something that packs down in 4/5 sections for travelling with backpack? Not sure if something like that exists but any info would be much appreciated.

    • @Fishinginbangkok
      @Fishinginbangkok Місяць тому

      @@rossmaxwell7737 telescopic or 3-4 section travel rods are not really a thing in Thailand. especially if you want something strong enough to handle a decent size Siamese or Mekong. you can buy a decent 2 section rod from most tackle shops for 1500-2500B. you can pay a lot more but 1500-2500 will get you a plenty good enough rod and you can find 2 section rods everywhere. most Thai rods are around 6-9ft long. or alternatively bring your own real loaded with good line and rent the rod from the lake. the reel is the more important part of the set up and easer to transport.

      @@Fishinginbangkok Yes i am a bit worried about the heat, hoping to fish around the Bangkok area a bit more this trip. Do you know of a catch & cook lake where they cook what you catch, always wanted to try one.

      @@tedsacre maps.app.goo.gl/K5VT6rZnhFjKfGFUA บ่อตกปลานัดพบฟิชชิ่งปาร์ค This lake would probably cook up a tilapia, rohu. java barb or striped catfish if you wanted them to.. Its a gr8 little lake and the owner Mr Sila is a nice guy but cant speak a word of English. There are 3 lakes there last time I went they had drained the main lake and where doing some repairs. I like the long thin lake on the right side of the car park there are some interesting fish in there. Its about 120b a rob and I think that includes 1kg of fish

    The second lake seems to be perfect for my ultralight lol, since there’s tilapia and other small species.

      there are some good fish in the 2nd lake but my god it was hot and getting bites was difficult. Mostly smaller fish in the 2nd lake and the Thai anglers where using whips so a UL would be fun.

    The Seaknight Monster/Manster is actually pretty good. They just overestimated their line strength. The 80lbs Monster is actually 60lbs which is quite accurate.

    • @Fishinginbangkok
      @Fishinginbangkok 4 місяці тому

      I have come to the same conclusion. I tested it based on the manufactures advertising of strength. If you buy this you need to order the strength above what you require to actually get the strength you expect.

      @@Fishinginbangkok Yes sir, Same results with the 80lbs i bought. its breaking at around 57-62lbs tried it several times. I really love this braid its thin,weave is good and most important part its very affordable! I also tried their 15lbs and 20lbs monster W8 its quite accurate aswell with the stated strength. Good review sir!😁

    The correct name is bing pla bik which means pla bik is a type of cat fish and bing means fishing lake.

      Let’s not kid ourselves the correct spelling would be บึงปลาบึก you can only ever accurately spell any word in Thai using the Thai language. Out of all the ways I have seen westerners / foreigners transliterate Thai in to English I have never seen Lake บึง written as Bing. A much closer transliteration would be Bung. For the ปลา or fish part of the name there is debate over if B or P best represents the ป consonants in Thai language. Both are used but really once you read Thai you will see that English doesn't have a consonant that can accurately represents the ป in Thai language. This is like several other vowels and consonants the Thai language has. The best 3 I can think of would be the ต wrote as a T or D. The ก that is always wrote as K when it’s only a K at the end of the word and often would be better represented as a G and the อ that really can’t be represented as anything in English. So Plar or Blar would both be acceptable. Lastly the end of the name บึก for Mekong catfish a better representation for the purpose of transliteration would be Buk and not Bik. Remembering this is all trying to transliterate Thai into English and while for a limited number of vowels and consonants this can be used with reasonable accuracy for the most part the only way to accurately pronounce Thai is to learn to read and wright the Thai language.
