That's four wheeler you have to hold the brake and push the start button
Right. I tried that in the beginning and it still didn’t do anything. Think it was just a bit crusty lol
@@Hunters-Garage yeah I got the same four wheeler and going to replace the starter and figure out why the battery terminals is getting hot
Bile sounds amazing but you should turn the idle down a little bit, also do you have the 03 and up auto decomp exhaust cam in it, I didn't see the decomp lever
It has the hot cams auto decompression cam also the high idle I’m pretty sure was from the neutral switch. It makes the bike idle higher in gear I assume to help with stalling on takeoff.
How do you like having the hotcams? I’ve been thinking about putting their exhaust cam with auto decomp in mine
Honestly yes it makes it easier but I had an 01 YZ 250F that I also did a video on and it didn’t have the auto decompression cam. If you don’t mind using the lever to get past that real hard spot and it’s easy for you to do that then I probably wouldn’t spend my money but if you don’t like that decompression lever and just want to kick basically like a normal bike then for sure it’s a yes in my book because it definitely does what it’s supposed to.
@@Hunters-Garage honestly I don’t mind the lever lol. I do plan on switching it to a thumb lever though, there is one that replaces the clamp on the clutch perch so you only have one perch for both the clutch and the decomp. If there’s no performance benefit I’ll stick with the lever, that bike has PLENTY enough power for me anyways lol 😂
@Dirt_Serpent I’m not totally sure on any performance benefits tbh but yea if you’re not bothered by the lever I wouldn’t buy it personally
how did u Kick it without using the deko i have a 2001 yz 426f and i cant Kick it without the deko leaver 😂😅
Cause I got that dawg in me 😏😂 Nah it has aftermarket hot cams which has auto decompression 😂😂
Nice bike!
hi I saw that you had a rm 85 many years ago by chance you remember what was the original squish that I can’t find online? thanks
Are you talking about the clearance between piston and head?
@@Hunters-Garage yes
Honestly I’ve never measured squish mainly because I don’t modify anything. I get that there could still be some clearance issues and what not sometimes but I’ve never had an issue. I tried looking online for anything for the rm 85 for you and I can’t find anything either other than its not a real “gasket” since it’s just I rings and torquing head bolts down correctly is what seals it.
@@Hunters-Garage Thank you for trying to help me. Good luck
@@Hunters-Garage However I need the squish because the top of the cylinder and the head were not flat and the flame came out. For this or had to level the two planes and to compensate I have to put a thicker gasket under the cylinder.
Do you know how to clean out the fuel tank after diesel been put in it after draining diesel out so there isnt surface diesel on the inside if it?
Best way would probably be taking the tank off and flushing it really good with soapy water and then just making sure tank is completely dry. After washing you could probably feel the inside to see if there is any coating. Not to sure if you can feel a coating from diesel fuel tho
@@Hunters-Garage Thank you a lot.
No problem hope you figure it out
I also have this motorcycle, what can you tell me about it ?🥺🤔
What do you want to know
@@Hunters-Garage I want to know is it a collection motocross ?🤔
@marianhrihor8904 I don’t fully understand. What do you mean by a collection?
nice bike cool roads keep going
Nice video. Thanks
Hit it with your purse lol
Eventually had to lol
Check the vent tube also
Check the valve lash. No one does this, and you are supposed to adjust them after 200 miles
Man, they sell them onlone for $41 all the Chinese quads are coming out of Texas.
Which part?
@Hunters-Garage the brakes and anything else you need, contact Amazon or the warehouse in Texas Lenhai, they sold $86 million worh of equipment last year, the least they can do is send you the brakes that fit the quad
@6stat664 I scoured a ton of different places to try to find some and most were the right size but the bolt pattern didn’t line up. Either way it’s fixed now and I’ll know for next time
I spend a lot of time working on stuff I buy for my Nephew, not that it needs a lot of work but I maintain it so I don't have a bunch of repairs, he's 8 now and we bought him.a Tao Tao 110 quad when he was 4 and it still runs great, we just ordered him a Massimo 550 quad and hope he loves it. By the way 3000 miles are a lot for any bike/ quad or sxs
Id suggest storing that with ethanol free fuel and maybe even mix some 2 stroke oil in with the fuel to lube the tank and keep rust away 🎉
Normally I’ll run non ethanol if I know I’m not gonna ride for a while. I did coat the inside with some wd-40 and that has helped keep it off
@@Hunters-Garage I have a couple old dual sports that I do that with. I usually mix in 2 stroke oil around 50:1 to treat the tank so it doesn't rust. Since it's vintage gas tanks are hard to come by. I live up north in the salt belt and before every winter I get under my vehicle and spray it with oil lol.. have to so it don't rust
@JdM-ep9on yea I got my first truck from somewhere up north and the whole underside is rusted lol
Just got a 99 yz400f a week ago, seller stated that a carb clean and minor tune up was needed, so after endlessly trying to turn it on myself after doing these small tune ups, carb clean, oil change i finally brought it to my local bike shop and basically got ripped out of $326 just to be told that valves are perfect and in spec with factory specs, and that my carb was cleaned right when i did it my self, so the shop didnt do any work on my bike, after all this he qouted me another 5 hours at $150 an hour plus parts, due to low compression, smh couldnt a compression test be done before he charged me jus to look at my valves and carb. Kind of lost here really want this bike to run but i dont have the money to be paying a shop to "hopefully" turn it on
Yea unfortunately it sounds like they got you pretty good. The compression test should have probably been the first step and then go from there checking valves and what not if the compression was low. Now I’m not gonna call anyone out for not knowing what they’re doing because idk the shop or anything but if that bike has after market cams with the auto decompression then the compression would read low no matter what because of that. From what I can remember it will read around 50ish PSI but be perfectly fine. Hopefully they get you figured out and you don’t have to spend much more. That being said I would like to hear what comes of it if you don’t mind updating me on here.
Hey Mate, I've got a '99 WR400f & it was a Nightmare trying to get it to Start - & if it did would Backfire & Cut Out You need to Set the Pilot Jet @ 2½ Turns out 👍- This has to be right or it won't start or runs Lean & Backfires - Also Do Not open the Throttle when kicking over - Just give it 1 Blip only then get to TDC &➡️pull the Decomp & Push Kicker only 1" further then let it up & Kick the Bitch! - Rinse & Repeat if doesn't fire - but don't touch the Throttle🚫 You'll Flood it! This Fixed it for me * See 'Horsepower House 2.0 Channel' for quick Demonstration Good Luck to the Both of you 🍀 👍
@@Hunters-Garage whats up brother, on that part I’m not really sure never thought about asking if it had a auto decompression cam, I believe he stated psi was 70-80, from what I’ve been able to gather from other riders sounds like it might be time for the top end rebuild, I was told by someone the rings on these wear out, so if it wasn’t rebuilt by first owner yet, it’s time, I’m a little mechanically inclined so I’m hoping I might just be able to do it myself with a little help of UA-cam university 👍🏼
@@purebloodheretic4682 thank you brother I will definitely give this a try and check out the page 👍🏼
Sounds good hope you get it figured out. If you need some guidance I’m happy to help
good video man, you made it to my recommended. scooters are the sheit
Yep it does work ive always done this
That’s crazyyy
spray the paint in the grip next time 👍
Sprayed it on the bar and the grip. All you had to do was watch 5 more seconds 👍
😂
Jackass
@@Hunters-Garagethe guy has worse attention span than a gold fish if he couldn’t finish a UA-cam short 😂
Lock-on grips or use an air compressor and still use safety wire. Never understood what was so hard and have been putting grips on for 35yrs.
Never tried the lock on grips and I’ve tried the safety wire method but they’ve all worked the same for me
Compressed air
I’ve seen that Method for taking off but grabbing a knife if easier for me lol
Honestly clear cloat sounds like it would work great, i use 2 part epoxy, takes 15-20 min to set up and it doesn't come off lol
Never had any issues with clear coat so far
Wd40
For putting on grips ? Would that not have them slip off?
Try hairspray
Old BMXer tricks
Soap and water goes a long way😂
For which part 😂
Real Harleys have steel cylinders....
So the sportster isnt a “real” Harley?
I guess he means real Harley’s have to have the top end done every 20,000 miles. I ride too much for that crap.
Don't 883's run on water?! 😅
😂 apparently not this one
Another win for naturally aspirated
Time for an 80cc conversion 😊
Just imagine all the boost you can add with that lower compression...
👀
How did that happen to a moped😂😂😂
Ole chinesium valves can’t handle the power 😂
Yep, no compression sir, we can fix ya right up tho. 😂
Absolutely sure can lol
Yep... That'll wreck it, alright.
Sure will lol
That must be that new fangled built in compression release!
Definitely released some compression
Been missing your videos. Keep up the good work man!
Thanks for the support. My current schedule for uploading at the moment will be the first of every month.
@@Hunters-Garage can’t wait to see what’s next!
need more videos on this bike bro im about to get one and they look dope
Definitely not a bad bike as long as it’s in good shape
@@Hunters-Garage have you done anything else to the bike
No I sold it so I could get another one
Them bikes got jam bud
Going to be nice when done
U will want to start that at t.d.c
Figured that one out the hard way lol
Swap them around
At lest tight u can just sand shim down a bit
Piston in cylinder first
Always check rings before putting cylinder on
I pretty sure I checked them before just not on camera

I bought a 98 today , the guy says it will start and run with a bump start. I'll see how it goes this weekend. I paid a $1,000. I'm hoping for the best
That’s all you can do is hope for the best. Good luck
The bird noises sound like you're in Michigan. Keep building.
Don’t do it those bikes have all kinds of issues with there heads you never get them reliable. I had 2 and forever changed to Yamaha because of it.
What specifically is the issues with the heads?
@@Hunters-Garage valve seats come out and valves stretch. The stock head will forever have that issue. Look up the old pro circuit first 250f days they blew motors up left and right
They had issues with the cranks and water pumps too. You are more then welcome to delete my comments if you’re trying to sell this or something my bad
I’m not about deleting comments lol. Any info is good info even if its problems with bikes. Only bikes I’ve heard of having a head issue similar to that is the 05 Honda 450s where the head or valve was soft metal and the other was a hard metal and would ruin whichever was soft. Would it be similar to that possibility?
Also more than likely gonna be selling 99% of the bikes I post on this channel unless I just absolutely need and love the bike
@ 19:04 into the video when removing the flywheel nut you impact wrench is tightening the nut. Not loosening it. Could be an illusion from frame rate on the video but it looks like you tightened, and stripped the threads.
Appreciate the comment. I’m 99.9% sure it was loosening but who knows at this point lol.
Yo… I thought u we’re going to throw it all away and replace but you fixed it :)
Which part lol. All I remember from that bike was it being a pain
