Stars and Stripes Forever for Trombone - Army Band Collaboration
Переглядів 1,8 тис.3 роки тому
This was a collaboration done between myself from The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own", and Felix Padilla from the West Point Academy Band. At the beginning of the pandemic our respective units were looking for ways to reach out musically since we couldn't perform in person. This opened the door to connecting with fantastic musicians and friends all over the world and making music toget...

Wonderful performance!
Really enjoyed this! 💞
prachtig
Is 7:47 the most replayed because it's the most iconic part of the piece or is it because the kid on the scooter appeared and disappeared?
those lip trills on the "piccolo" solo were amazing
Bravo. I played alongside the low brass team during a couple of euph &tuba conferences back in the 90s. Happy days with the superb musicians from Pershings USMCB and USAF. I was visiting with the Royal Marines Band.
Super Intonation ❤ Die Aufnahme hat eine perfekte Akustik. Wenn das draußen unter der AB war: war diese gesperrt? LG und ein gutes neues Jahr 2024!
Unbelievable! Well done, gentlemen!
Swear this is where they had the goth rave 😂
What’s so beautiful to me is not only the music, but the fact that you guys are such good friends that you not only work together, but also produce amazing content like this together. Wish I found your channel earlier!
Holy moly why is this masterpiece not on Pershing’s Own channel? I was just wondering who’d have both the skill and the courage to take on such an ambitious piece with trombone only. Sure enough it’s my favorite musicians from my favorite military band!!! Bravo to you all!! 🎉
Marvelous! Well done all of you! 👍😁
Прекрасное исполение! Гармонично! Грамотно! Настоящее искусство!
Terrific arrangement, and a great performance! I'm very fond of this piece because I played it in high school band (arrangement in Bb) and in a community orchestra (original in A). The soaring solo about 2:20 is played by cello in the original, and trumpet in the band arrangement. It's a lot more fun to hear on trumpet. And I look forward to playing it on trombone, in my trombone ensemble.
So enjoyable! Glad you did this for us.
As a trombonist (been playing for 10 years,I play a shires horn with a hammond 11m mouthpiece) for anyone curious. But this is such a beautiful arrangement and the bass trombonist has a beautiful tone and blends beautifully with the rest of the trombone choir. The overtones are heart warmingly beautiful! Love from Sweden
Man i am obsessed with this song for some reason
This is at Jones Point under Woodrow Wilson Bridge
Absolutely magical!
Amo essa música, agora com esse octeto de trombonistas ficou muito lindo ⚽️⚽️👍👍
Fantastic!!! It is great how the sounds blend each other
Or, if you prefer: a quartet version from 2017 ua-cam.com/video/DAKOvIXJW5U/v-deo.html
Canadian Brass: you are great but please step aside..
Kudos to you, Kyle Price for this arrangement, and Bravo!! to all the performers!! Such talent! Marvelous sound quality and musicality. I especially enjoyed the low, low notes; such resonance! Much gratitude for the effort to record this performance and post it for us here for all to enjoy. 🙏
Nice reminds me when the Santa Clara Vanguard played this in the early 80’s
Nice sound. Green screen for the location though.
Gotta love that canon!
Chills. And the made me drop my phone!
Magnificent. Well done. What a pleasure to listen to such excellent, professional, and gorgeous playing.
Fantastic but how can the guy with the ponytail be in Pershing's Own? Additionally, this was not recorded under a freeway overpass.
Those pedal tones are just bonkers. Well done, gentlemen.
¡BRAVO, EXCELLENT!
How to play Trombone In High note?
the scale down to the ultimate harmonizing of chords at 6:30 😍😍😍
Played this in highschool Marching band, i played baritone. Still gives me chills! Amazing job!!!!!!
Don't need any trumpets.
Wow!!! Che bravi! Complimentissimi
Outstanding!
very beautiful, I love the start with that beautiful trombone melody, compliments guys
Anybody else jump when the cannons went off? 😆
Playing any instrument well with total control is incredibly difficult. To play the trombone well is exceptionally difficult. It's rare that you hear the instrument truly played well. Intonation is the culprit - and mastering that on top of being able to produce an open even tone throughout the range is key. These players are absolutely first class trombonists. Bravo - extremely well done!
장난아니네요ㄷㄷ
Awesome!
I was in band my entire school/high school experience. Always a reed player. I always thought the trombone was an oversized slide whistle. As the bassoon is a farting bedpost.
Please! Details! Who? Where? When? Awesome playing,
Hi Jeff, thanks for watching. All the details should be in the description of the video
As a former trombone player ( 15yrs) I am very impressed. Fantastic
Impressive
Fantastic! Thank you.
They are playing this in Alexandria in a park on the Potomac! I live in Ohio but I remember that place very well. I was doing a 24hr ultra endurance event and sprained my ankle right there and had to forfeit. One of the guys was just at OSU School of Music, he is with the U.S. Army Brass Quintet.
it's cool❗
