Gold, Treasure, Legends, Lost History, and just outdoor stuff. All are the focus of the channel, and being in the Southwest US, opportunities still abound for Prospecting, Metal Detecting, Mining, ATV riding, Offroading and 4x4, Overlanding, Camping, Hiking, Exploring Ruins, Finding Petroglyphs, Nature Encounters, and whatever else you can't do in the average city. The goal of the channel is to share some of the amazing things still out there waiting to be discovered, and also to help enhance the Explorer's Eye - a lot of stuff hides in plain sight, or is just around a corner or up a canyon that you might otherwise not know to explore. No quick-fix, hollow pleasures here - this all takes a lot of work, skill, effort, and gear, but It's Out There to be had for those who can stomach the sacrifice.
Return to Hidden Mountain
Hidden Mountain near Belen, New Mexico has much more going on than the Decalogue Stone itself. There are petroglyphs from all kinds of different seeming groups all over the place, and some are really interesting. There are also things that match with hidden signs of treasure, though I suspect that this site was a pass-through and not a destination. There' stuff here that some would say depict "portals", may be out of place Chinese glyphs, post-contact stuff, and a wide variety of historical people's signs in addition to the typical big draw which is the 10 Commandments (+/-) on the Decalogue panel. We did not even make it to the Zodiac stone or David's Stone (Throne?) so I will probably have to go back again someday. There is already so much modern graffiti here it is a real shame. I document petroglyphs and other things to preserve history - I have seen many things destroyed or modified in just the couple of decades I have been stomping around taking pictures. While I am 100% an advocate for things like rockhounding in general, this is a special location with waaaay too many people going there, so in this case I will be advocating for LEAVE NO TRACE in a way I would not typically on 99% of the rest of the public land out there.

The ant people
Its amazing how hard it is to get someone in a museum to look at a artifact i found years ago and recently refound it in my deceased father old tool shed in an old toolbox he had, i had given it to him back in the 1980s when i found it just laying sticking halfway out of the ground while i was walking down the highest which i had stopped to take some pictures,i was bust driving through on my way to SLC Utah from south Texas, if anyone is interested in seeing some pics of this bar of some yellowish metal , im no hunter , just a retired hippie who thinks this might be worth some money which i could use , im barely living of my disability and this thing that has been just laying here gathering dust could be worth something which could help me ,and who knows, if it turns out to be something valuable, naybe we can set up a trip to that place , ive never have told where i found it , im just a fan or became a fan of the history of New Mexico after i refound this piece which i had completely forgotten about it , just one thing i noticed on why i decided to speak which thru out the yrs they had told me to not speak about it , is that this place where this gentleman Doc Ness had supposedly had found that famous gold fillee cave , that place is not that far from where i found this piece of bar , and i say piece cause its a squared yellowish metal bar thats been hack sawed by someone and its just like a 3-4 lbs piece of a full bar ..... So if anyone of yall wanna see it , drop me an email and i wiuld gladly send you pics, naybe y'all could tell me if this thing could be worth some money which i could use and why not, naybe some of yall would like to go for a hunt one of these days now that fall is here and its not that hot , to go out for a hunt , if i get help i wouldnt have a problem going over there to New Mexico and go and show you the place i found this thing , i got a felling there could be more laying out there , this thing was found like in the middle of nowhere
Send me an email if you want. It is avadams at lostadamsgold dot com. Sone of the "bars" were reported to be square, actually. You should be able to assess the density to see if it is gold. Weigh it and then get a "graduated cylinder" or heck maybe even a measuring cup and see how much water it displaces. Then you can calculate the density. You never know, but don't count those chickens until you do some testing and research. And yes, the Museums and Universities will ignore on one hand and then steal your stuff if they get interested in it on the other hand. I have heard personal stories time and time again about that.
What’s your email?
Just changed my pic , that's the actual piece I'm talking about , just in case you can't email me , y'all think ,by looking at the pic this thing could be worth some money , I meen, the piece itself even if it's worthless it's beautiful
Maybe it's something worthless but it's a beautiful piece and I would like to know what material it could be or if it's something important for the History of the State of New Mexico .....
@@robertrodz9112 That's an interesting looking bar. Have to get it tested to see what it is. Maybe a University geology department can assay it with LIBS or some other minimally-intrusive method.

The Franklins are interesting. Forget the "Lost Padre" silver mine there - probably not a real thing. I'd explore East of there, in the Jarillas, Guadalupes, Rustler Hills, and down near Eagle Pass if you are looking for bandit loot,
Man wana go explore would like to tag along or point good area
I recommend the Caballos. Really, I had to hold back in this video talking about Doc's *original* discovery in the Caballos. You can still go there, as opposed to WSMR which is off limits.
@@lostadamsgold yeah that my next . Franklin my back yard pancho villa stash . Caballos look promising
Is that in the zigzag canyon in the black range of new mexico? It looks familiar to me
The Black Range is about 70 miles south of this location. This is an area that the book Return to the Lost Adams Diggings is focused on. I don't think that the canyon we were in was THE zig-zag, though it did zig and zag. It was not long enough and horses could not make it up it - we had to climb a bit.
We saw a gigantic raven tornado several years ago right at the intersection of NM90 and US70, near Lordsburg NM. There must have been at least 2-3 hundred birds extending upward from a couple hundred feet above the ground up to where the highest birds were barely visible to the naked eye. Also, on the "Big Curve" on NM15 between Silver City and Pinos Altos, we've seen two smaller occurrences, maybe 50 birds each - both at the same location. Ravens are prominent in Native folklore, maybe for good reason.
The other of my two experiences was in the Burros, south of Bullard Peak. A short-lived, large-scale thing. Sounds like you got to see the same deal, multiple times. Just neat in a hard to describe way. Maybe I will get to see one more before I croak - pun intended! Never seen a big bird, though.
👍👍👍
Very interesting.. Great content sir.. :)
Do any of ya'll know about a "hand of god" treasure site in the Franklin Mountains? Also why do they say there ain't no gold in the Franklin's?
I know there's gold somewhere around Bishops Cap, but that may be the Organs. I bet there some gold in the Franlinks, but maybe minor. Silver seems more likely. Lost Padre Mine is placed there, but I have seen it on an old map far to the East - not sure what range that would be. You introduced me to the Hand of God sign - and there is one at Vic Peak. That kind of sign may have more to do with convenient landmark for burying refined goodies, rather than a mineral deposit.
@@lostadamsgold while going over transmountain......i see signs that day no trespassing coz the army owns it. What would happen if someone were to go hiking up in there and get caught?
@@autotek7930 Do not trespass on the military ranges. Best case: you get charged. Worst case: you step on some UXO and end up maimed or gone. Use OnX or another map resource to check land boundaries. Some areas of the mountains are open, others are part of Bliss, IIRC.

Nice video, thanks. I happen to believe most of the VP reports are fraudulent, but the entire story makes for a great source of discussion. Every thing you need to know about Noss is in Volume 1 of the trilogy. As far as the government's involvement - well, remember, EVERYTHING they say about all topics is in some form a lie intended to enrich and protect their cartel. Reply
Yes, quite the tantalizing list of goodies to ponder. I myself am on the fence regarding the whole thing in totality. I really appreciate your past stated opinions on the Caballos of course since that's a place one can still go poke around ;) To me, topics like this are just as fascinating because of the human element of deception as they are for anything else.
🤙⛏⚒ Authors John Clarence and Tom Whittle allege that a paper trail of agreements, warehouse receipts, and other supporting document show that nearly $1.8 billion in gold bullion was stolen from a military installation in New Mexico. These documents, which were handed over to the authors by a confidential source provide a picture window view into an apparent scheme to transform the gold into cash. The first of nine agreements was struck at an Albuquerque, New Mexico bank and when the eighth agreement was struck it allowed a Washington D.C. bank to serve as escrowee for the funds and certain documents. The bank in question was directly across the street from The White House. The book series presents an official December 13, 1973 FBI AIRTEL report that names a Washington D.C. attorney as a "tipster" who phoned the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army and reported 37 tons of gold had been taken from the military installation in question. A Department of the Army Memorandum For Record on March 11, 1974 claimed the names of those involved were given to the FBI; but because they were bare allegations they were not interviewed. On January 9, 1974 a Las Cruces Resident FBI Agent's report described trucks hauling 37 tons of gold ingots and artifacts. The report named: a New Mexico smelting and refining company, an Albuquerque bank and two of its officers, and a California refinery that was alleged to be handling the sale of the gold overseas. On December 13, 1973, the then FBI Director received an Albuquerque Airtel report that requested Department of the Army to identify the tipster. Two weeks later the commanding general of the military base in question learned the name of the tipster, but nothing was done. The Gold House trilogy exposé unveils decades of criminal activity the U.S. Government has imposed upon the true discoverers of a vast treasure trove they had uncovered in 1937, a discovery the government claimed was a myth. Until these records were obtained, Terry Delonas, grandson of Doc and Ova Noss, had no proof of what he had long-suspected: "The research Mr. Clarence has done explains exactly why the government was afraid of a full excavation of the chambers beneath Victorio Peak," he states in the video.
I live near by, I do think there are more large sites like this.
In the Gold House Books, I think it is Drolte who mentions one even *larger* than Vic Peak which is in a nearby mountain range. Hard to imagine just how much wealth is hidden around our dusty little desert - but what better place to hide goodies than where people don't even go?
My family has lived in Otero County since before it became Otero County. Grandfather knew Mr. Noss well for decades. He said Doc wasn't kidding, and that he had personally seen evidence. He personally believed the lions share went to a specific Army general officer and a conniving NCO who put it together. Never would mention names.
When I first moved down to the area, people would mention this whole issue but never go into detail. It was not until years later after I started hiking around a lot and talking to locals after hanging out that it became more real. One of my friends knew Benny Saminiego personally. Benny was tight-lipped even to friends and associates. It takes something really impressive to cause that much secrecy among so many people.
So the gubment got all that money and they are still in this much debt? How's that possible?
Certain individuals got the proceeds from the gold. The "other people's money" in politics/government needs to be addressed, for sure. It is out of control.
@@lostadamsgoldlook up Walter burien " the CAFR" there's no debt. his audio is at rense radio archive..if I have a thousand dollars BUT I tell u the budget is 100$, then u understand. CAFR.
It was said after this gold find that the deficiit was declared gone and we had a balancd budget, Kennedy administration allegedly said so.
Thank you. This treasure would have never seen the light of day regardless. There's some very powerful people they don't want this to be known
If you believe the Gold House books... then literally, multiple Presidents of the USA.
No wonder poor ol' Doc drank himself into oblivion... imagine finding all that stuff and not being able to get it all out! Let alone experience a catastrophic cave-in. But what the Army did was so disgusting, so reprehensible, that we dont get to see any of that treasure.. well I just hope in some way they will get to pay for what they did.
This story is so huge, it is hard to get ahold of. Irony is the strongest force in the Universe, not gravity. We can only hope that it applies equally to any scoundrel who may have deprived a rightful claimant of their due.

Is it still worth the chase for trying to find a cave full of gold in the caballos just asking
Its worth the adventure
As they say "Don't quit your day job". That said, the mountains are beautiful, there is some weird stuff up in there to see, and you may run across other kinds of treasure. I found a beautiful ram's head still attached to the skeleton on a hike last year (it's in one of my vids). Unfortunately, it was not legal to keep, so Fish and Game have it now, but stumbling across that is not something you can get on the couch. I have sat in the Eye cave above Burbank canyon - wild hike to get there and an exhilarating view. Getting out anywhere is good, but I personally choose to go where there is above-average chances of goodies.

@@tonychapa3330 Hey Tony, the Manzanos are very interesting. I was up there looking for a lost mine when I took the footage for my Quarai Mission video on the way back home. Quarai Mission has a square Kiva - I didn't know that was a thing until I went there. Terry Carter would love to interview you about Giant folklore - and I'd love to hear that interview! From my house I can see Cabezon, and I think the lore says that is what is left of the head of a fallen giant. For some reason "Nistcre" comes to mind as a name for tumbled down stone leftovers of defeated giants, but that may be an Apache thing. Pueblo and other local cultures are part of why I love living in New Mexico!
Did you see the giant diamond unearthed recently in Botswana?
Yeah, the video of the President or whatever being handed it was hilarious. His eyes were bugging out of his head. It will be interesting to see how they cut it. They'll probably try to get the biggest single one, but there's a chance depending on internal fractures, etc. that there could be several smaller ones that also come from the same biggie.
That is amazing! I have never seen that variety petrified wood. You could probably write a paper on its formation.
Yes, *metal* petrified wood. Crazy. So heavy (dense) it is insane. My back still hurts... We did write a paper a few years back. In doing research for the paper, we determined that this material occurs nowhere else in the world with this specific configuration. There are other metallic petrified wood occurrences, one of which is in New Mexico further south but the chemistry is different. Other blue wood like Cholla wood from Turkey and the Chromite wood from over by Grants id green, but not composed of precious metal.
@@lostadamsgold That is fascinating. What was the mode of preservation? Absolutely beautiful specimens and it is rich in copper content.
@@treasurebound Watch the vid where I run electricity through this stuff. It's an older one. We just clean the snot out of it with high pressure water. Then, some specimens get ground down or cut to expose the metal content.

Thanks Clarence. Get a hiking buddy and get out there. Sometimes going slow lets you see stuff in plain sight, so age can be an advantage. I see old trails and roads all the time going 70 mph down the interstate. There's history right on the side of the road. One of the arrastres I know about down by Anthony Texas is 300' from I-25 off an exit. Good luck!

People find can of gold coins in their backyard and famous paintings at garage sales. The thing is, you could search your whole life and find nothing super valuable and others may stumble upon a virtual fortune by accident. Better enjoy the journey. Getting out there yields lots of "treasure" in many forms - health, memories, pictures, rockhound type stuff, etc. - so it is WAY better than the couch, by any metric.

However, it was not as traveled as other regions such as California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, etc. I'd start by looking up what old Spanish Missions may have been established in Nevada.
Great Vids keep'em commin!
Thanks. You have a huge back catalog. I got some viewing to do!
