I made it! It was all custom, but very easy to do.

My guess is that the boost reference line with the restrictor "pill" was replaced, and the pill wasn't transferred. 6lbs is your base wastegate spring, so the EBCS isn't bleeding any pressure.

@@Travisty75 so change the turbo? Also my car spend a lot of gasoline full tank I make 242 miles only 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@jhone-freedom No, the turbo isn't likely to be your issue. Like I said, my guess is it's the vacuum line that goes from your compressor cover to the wastegate. That line has a restrictor in it, and I bet someone changed the lines out and didn't move the restrictor. Bad fuel economy is likely how you're driving it. My WRX consistently got 26-30mpg

Basically, yeah that's what you have to do. The dump tube will need to be modified to clear the turbo but keep it away from the strut tower. It's tight, but all doable

It's a 2.5RS Header (eBay Borla Replica), 2.25" all the way back with no cat's, one resonator, and a fart cannon. It was amazingly mild at idle, but got REAL loud when you stepped on it.

17psi is fine. That's actually a very good number for a stock td04 turbo. Anything above 18psi and the turbo is basically making pressure and hot air with no power increase. 17psi will be real fun with your mods!

It had JDM Pink injectors, but those weren't necessary for this power level. The rest of the engine was stock. Keep in mind though that the turbo is way past it's efficiency range at 21psi. It's not adding any power in that range, just more hot air.

Everardo With no tune, you might feel a bit of difference. The exhaust options for these cars really help once you do get a tune though.

Travis T thanks i just installed the cobb downpipe to cobb exhaust but the downpipe is for an 08 sti so 3 inches bigger in length and made the catback stick out ..car looks straight piped from rear

Waffles Stock hangers, not extended. Are you assembling the exhaust loose, then going back and tightening it all up once it's installed? If you start at the front and tighten stuff up as you go you won't have the slop needed to properly align it.

Fox Nah, it got scrapped a couple years ago. Ran until it was scrapped though. It was just a lot more work to make it nice so the owner decided to can it instead of investing the money.

Fox Yes it did! Never had an issue with the transmission or rear end in the car. It was beaten on daily too, it never had an easy life, haha

Travis T good to hear! I talked to you on here years ago about it, after some setbacks with wrecking my car, and having to find another rs, I finally built my rwd trans and really want to put it in. On top of the rs I bough another L recently as a daily so if the rs breaks it's no big deal. Thanks for the response!

Travis T Travis T your right...Jason. The work that he’s done for the community is unbelievable. I’ve been studying the “In’s & Out’s” of OpenSource tuning for roughly a year. I stumbled upon his (Jason’s) 16 Bit Speed Density Log on NASIOC and that led to his write up on RomRaider by mere accident. I would’ve loved to have been a part of the “Testing” crew when he was working out any bugs in the Rom. There are so many guys that are associated with the CarBerryRom as far as the testing. I haven’t came across ANYONE of those guys that didn’t genuinely want to help others learn. You don’t see that type of commitment and sharing of knowledge anywhere that doesn’t cost a arm and a leg.

Aadl Fyith My first car with a hood dump I made a plug for it, but this car I just let it fill up. The wastegate valve is closed during normal driving so the water won't get in to your exhaust at all. The first time you make enough boost to crack open the valve it'll blow out all that stuff. :)

Justin Maillet Thanks man! I really liked how it sounded, too. Rain can't get in because the wastegate valve is shut until target boost is reached. Also, if somehow the valve were to stick open, the rain water would travel down in to the manifold. If I had a hood exit off the turbo, then yeah the water would just sit in the turbo itself. I don't think it would hurt the seal, but all that stuff is iron in there and would rust. The reason I was ok with having water sit against the wastegate valve is because that whole housing/seat/valve is stainless and won't rust. :)

Ashik A Do you mean tuning, and not simply flashing? Flashing is the same process as any other ROM, but you need a 02/03 US Spec WRX ECU. As far as tuning, I can't help you with that. I've only ever dabbled with tuning and typically get results I don't like, so I leave Thad to the professionals :)

I just meant flashing. If i read properly. It's just using ecuflash and a tactrix cable , right ? Tuning got a buddy for that but I just wanted to flash my ecu to carberry.

Rodrigo Santana Yes sir. GM IAT drilled/tapped in to the intake manifold like Jason Carberry recommends, and the two wires used for the factory MAF heating element were run to the IAT sensor.

Travis T Thanks a lot for the answer man! Can you tell me if you had to change any scaling tables for the IAT sensor? I believe it's different from the one integrated on the MAF.

Rodrigo Santana You're welcome! You definitely will need to rescale for the new sensor. I can't help you with what those values are specifically, but a glance over at the RomRaider website, specifically the Carberry ROM section, should provide you with the knowledge you seek.
