Thank you 👍
Great Job. I wonder if that company would hire me to simplify their manual. It's working perfectly now!
Thank you, very helpful
So each zone should have the SAME start time?
Think of it more of a program start time. The zones don’t get their own start time. For a program you set which days to water, a start time (which tells the program when to start watering), then you assign which zones should be on that program. The zones run in sequence beginning at the start time.
@@matthewkrom5898 So I have an 8Oclock start time for ZOne 1, and OFF for 2, 3 and 4. I have run times of 20 mins for each zone. Will that cycle through the 4 zones one time and then stop?
@@jdevine42 Yes, as long as the start time and station run times are set to the same Program (there are 3 available programs A,B,C)
How do you make it go off twice a day, once in morning and once in the evening?
@@matthewkrom5898 Thanks much, its working correctly now
I like to peel off the top cover and adjust on the fly...
These instructions work for Orbit Rotary Sprinklers as well!!
Correct and KRain. They are both knock offs of the Hunter PGP. You can reverse the instructions and they work for RainBird 5000 series rotors too. Everything with the RainBirds is opposite.
Excellent! You did a perfect job of explaining the process!! I did it! YAYYY ME! Thank you for your video!!
Thanks a lot, that trick saved me a lot of time!
Thank you!
so if I only want to schedule on days of week not odd or even or interval days ( for example only Monday, Wednesday) the last screen I should stay is the schedule on days of week ? Not move to odd or even or interval then the system will only work for days of week schedule?
correct
Excellent explanation. Now I think the product is well-designed; previously, I thought it was crazy. Thanks
So if I do an interval of 3 watering on the third day or the 4th day
Could you not just insulate it? Im from south carolina so i dont winterize as a regular practice. I just insulate my above ground lines and thats usually sufficient.
Unfortunately we are not able to do that here in Connecticut. Even the lines in the ground have been known to freeze and crack so everything gets winterized with an air compressor to blow all the water out of the system.
@@matthewkrom5898 so you gotta do that on a nightly basis?
@@misterd717 no we blow the systems out in October/November for the winter and reactivate them in April/May
@@matthewkrom5898 oh ha dumb question, its for irrigation.
Concise and clearly explained. Thank You
I'd rather be looking closely at the timer while you are talking instead of looking at you. I can't see the functions you are doing on the timer camera is too far away.
You didn't explain anything about the three different programs and stations. Can't you program each station for a different schedule by choosing a different program (A,B, or C) for each station?
Excellent video. Thank you very much for the clear explanation.
Super helpful!
Right on, thank you. Too bad when I bought my house brand new they never left any tool to adjust them, thank God for UA-cam
Thank you for this information
Best video
answered my question about how to turn off interval and schedule individually by day. thank you!
What is the second number when seeing the internal days?
The second number (to the right) is “Days Left”. As in how many days are left until it waters next. If you have a 4am start time and it’s 3pm showing 0 days left it will water at 4am the next morning. If it shows 1 then it will water again at 4am on the second day.
Thanks for this video. Manual just could not get me over the finish line on setting to even days. Great Job!
"Pop the head up outta the casing" Doesn't explain how to do that...
I see that you posted this 6 years ago but can you explain what "interval" is? Female here and I know absolutely nothing about how this works! Thanks!
The interval setting within the water day portion of your program determines a number of days between watering days. So an interval of 3 means the system will water every third day, an interval of 2 means the system will water every second day or every other day as opposed to watering on specific days of the week or odd or even numbered dates on the calendar (even being the 2nd, 4th, 6th ..... day of the month). The other number on the screen labelled "Days Left" indicates how many days are left before the system waters again.
@@matthewkrom5898 Thank you but I need more clarity. Do I have to set interval on something? I have it on 1 right now. I also have it set to run on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
@@terrialexander1534 There are three ways to set your watering day schedule and you can only choose one. You either set days of the week such as Sunday, Tuesday and Friday OR select an interval such as every 2 or 3 days OR odd or even calendar dates. If you are selecting interval or odd/even all the days of the week have to allow watering, which means none of them can show the little rain drop with the circle and slash through it above the day of the week. This is because the day of the week in which the system is set to water will change from week to week on either interval or odd/even. If you want to set particular days of the week such as you listed you can leave the interval set @ 1. You then need to make sure all the days of the week below the interval 1 number on that same screen do NOT have the rain drop with circle and slash. Then continue to press the right arrow key until you get to the so called "day of the week" screen in which the word interval and the number above it disappear. The days of the week at the bottom need to show a rain drop on the days you want watering and will either be blank or have the rain drop with circle and slash (depending on the year of your controller) indicating non-watering days. You press the + key to turn days on and the - key to turn days off. You can also call our office 860-426-3377 and get a call back when you are standing in front of your timer and we'll walk you through it.
Excellent tutorial! Very clear and understandable.
Is there anyway to get the head to move back and forth faster? Mine seems to take over a minute for a full sweep. Perhaps that's normal, I don't know?
Not really, the tend to slow with age due to debris clogging the filter in the bottom. The water pressure goes up the head and spins a turbine which in turn operates the gear drive and makes it turn. If the filter is clogged enough it can slow the rotation. It can also be a combination of flow restrictions such as how the pipe was run, what fittings where used and at what angle they are to one another and the pipe etc. If it still rotates at a consistent speed and isn't stopping and starting then the gear drive is good. If it is the gear drive is damaged and the head will soon stop rotating altogether.
@@matthewkrom5898 Very helpful reply, thank you!
great job better than hunter explains
when I program mine to only water on Wednesday and then switch it back to run, the display only says "No SS." Any idea what that means?
Hello - a No SS message means there is an issue with your Solar Sync weather sensor. It’s either disconnected or there is an issue/fault with the wiring.
Just curious, could you use that bottom faucet for your garden hose throughout the year too or is it specifically for the sprinkler backflow drain?
It can be used as a regular faucet as well.
Good one
How do you fix/replace the faucet at the bottom?
Depends on how it was installed. Most are just threaded with Teflon tape or plumbers putty so you can typically unscrew them with a wrench. Some are soldered in place and I’d recommend a plumber for that.
@@matthewkrom5898 That's what I figured thank you sir.
If you damage that shaft with the channel locks you're screwed. Better to use your hands.
Nice job. You saved a service call for me.
Wow this was sooo freaking helpful. I was wondering why my system was watering everyday
FANTASTIC ILLUSTRATION! Greatly appreciated.
Best video on adjusting Hunter sprinklers. Clear, concise and easy to understand. Thanks so much.
Thank you!
Very helpful, thanks for the video.
Can you do both even days with mowing day shown as off ?
Yes
So helpful! Thank you!
Awesome explanation of how to adjust! Thank you sir!
Thank you for the explanation, question for you, how does the interval watering knows when to start? example every third day, there has to be a starting day, all the days are displayed in the bottom of the screen as watering days, how does the system know when to start counting from?
There is a "days left" setting/number next to the interval days number on that same screen. That is where you can set the number of days left until the next watering day.
@@matthewkrom5898 unfortunately mine doesn’t have a days left, it’s the x-core model, any way thank you very much for your response, I truly appreciate it.
Perfect presentation. Somehow my system got configured for Interval watering which is not at all what I wanted. A few minutes into this video and I knew what to do to get the daily watering that I wanted. Thank you
Rambling an unclear, poor instructions
Thank you for great video!
You should have installed that sensor on the gutter now the system could possibly get it wet and it will then power down and other things like if you decide to pressure wash the house or you run by and say a puddle of water even splashing it could shut off the system. So for anyone watching please avoid placing your sensor like this. Needs to be high up with nothing but open sky above it
Once I program it and click RUN, will it show all of the days in my watering schedule on the screen or just the current day of the week? Thank you - great video!
Glad I found the video. Very easy to follow. Thanks
