Snowshoeing in Alpine County, CA. Stanislaus National Forest. Christmas Day 2022.
Переглядів 54Рік тому
Here's a video of our first time hiking on snowshoes. We first walked around in Bear Valley then headed down to Lake Alpine via Ebbetts Pass Road (SR4). Very nice day with temperatures about 60F. The Bear Valley ski area operates an extensive system of groomed trails for cross county skiing and snowshoeing. A pass ($40 for adults) is required. We decided to go with the free option in the nation...

I’ve watched a few dozen videos on the Zephyr route and this is very well done. As a southerner who sees maybe 10 snowflakes a year, I definitely want to take the trip during the Winter months, for the snow adds to the breathtaking factor.

If I lived in NorCal, I would take that train to go to Truckee or to Colorado and go snowshoeing or cross country skiing...though I don't own any skis or much in winter equipment cus I live in SoCal and while the snowy mountains aren't too far (if you have a car) I can't access them easily cus I don't know of any bus that will take me there :(

Lee, Stonewall Jackson, U.S. Grant, Wyatt Earp, Casey Jones, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, I could go on and on. He'll never be forgotten.
