"Bruise Bro"-Top 5 NHL Fights-Joey Kocur
From Kelvington, SK, 6'0 220lbs, Joey Kocur was among the NHL's fiercest enforcers of the 80s and 90s, with feared punching power in both hands. Joey has said that he would picture punching the back of an opponents skull so that he punched through their face... Joey racked up over 2500 Career Penalty Minutes over 15 seasons with Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers, and briefly the Vancouver Canucks.

As requested multiple times in the comments, Stu Grimson took an odd route to the NHL. He played three seasons with the Regina Pats (WHL) and two seasons at the University of Manitoba. Drafted twice, first by the Detroit Red Wings (1983) and then by the Calgary Flames (1985), he eventually played 729 NHL games over 14 seasons for the Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, Hartfo...

"Twister" - Tony Twist - Top 5 NHL Fights
Kocur,Tocchet, & Probert--3 toughest dudes--compared to these pansies now a-days 😆
Well.. braindead macintyre ended ivanans career sadly.
Ok I had it at 2 wins, Churla and VanD, 2 losses, Probert and Domi, and 1 tie with McSorley.
Stu and Brashear. Two decent heavies who broke into the NHL, had some issues they worked on and we watched them progress over time to become the "champ" of the league eventually.
Grimson was a beneath Sandy McCarthy and Tony Twist . Both these guys had champ seasons, and Brashear was champ material.
@@mirandasalinas9412 Twist was a solid heavy whos 40 lbs muscle gain of 215 to 255 lbs made a huge difference in his punching power and ability to control the fights. Sandy's rookie season is arguably the greatest rookie season ever after Boogaard and was a contender to the belt immediately. Grimson was not much better than Peluso when he first came up and then got to Chicago. We watched him for several seasons with balance issues, not much punching power for his size. Each season he got a little bit better and by the time he got to Hartford, he was no longer 11-20th place but a perennial top 3 fighter who was feared throughout the league.
@Mike7911779 Bob Probert was once interviewed on Michael Landsberg off the record interview. Michael Landsberg asked Bob Probert. Who is the toughest guy you ever fought? Probert answered Dave Brown. Probert paused a bit and named Stu Grimson as the runner-up. Michael Landsberg responded, " so those guys were really tough " Probert also mentioned that Tie Domi was tough for his size. Michael Landsberg asked Bob Probert. Did you ever feel sorry for a guy you beat? Probert answered Bob McGill I took him out for beers after the game. Probert explained he felt sorry for knocking down McGill twice in the fight. Michael Landsberg asked Bob Probert. Who is the toughest guy in the NHL presently? Probert answered George Laraque. Probert did say that Tie Domi never really hurt him with his punches. ...
Tiger Williams, George Laraque, Donald Brashear, Bob Probert, Dan Maloney top 5 all-time. 👊💪
He was an animal, tough as they come.
Classic fights back in the day! Even the smaller guys like Gary Howatt, Stan Jonathan were beasts!!👊💪
Probert is a weakling for no tie down. Horibe
These are not even close to Probert’s best fights. Well, besides the McSorley one, which is probably a Top 5 fight ever. Also,it’s always a bonus to see Frodo knocked on his ass by anyone, especially Probert, so that was a good one, too!
Chris simon please
I once went to a boxing match and a hockey game broke out... lol
I miss this dude...
Glenn Cochrane, please
No even close to the scariest person. He is a lawyer now and great guy.
you make good videos
Wild how the announcers assumed Kyte was kooked because he hit his head on the ice. Then you watch the slo-mo replay and see how he was out on his feet and then Kocur got him one more right before they hit the ice. Head never touched the ice, just pure punching power!
It was reminiscent of the Jonathan-Bouchard fight, Where Jonathan punched Perrie while he was down. What code ?
Ohhhhhh. Dave Semenko please!
He was a tough s.o.b.
Dave Manson please!
Caufield had his face & ego bruised! Kocur was a straight beast!
thats awesome i love kocur chris nilan was like kocur in early days
Cooperalls 😂
Ty Domi Hits Like A Girl 💃. 👈🎥👀😆🇨🇦
I Couldn't Stand The Little RUNT,, 👈 🎥👀 🥊🤠🥊🇨🇦
Ty Domi Is A PUNK,, 👈 🎥👀🥊🤠🥊🇨🇦
Idiots in the wrong sport Annoying since i want to watch hockey.
Probert is the GOAT!! Detroit what ?!?!!!!
Stu was definitely a monster but not the best fighter, that title goes to Bob Probert in my opinion. During his time with the Wings he was THE heavyweight most guys feared.
The most feared and destructive fighter in NHL history is Dave Brown. Brown had the most champ seasons from 1985 to Jan 9, 1991. Probert was a co champ with Brown during the latter 1987-1988. Probert was champ January 9, 1991 too April 2 , 1994 until Sandy McCarthy beat Probert and became the next champ. McCarthy built op an impressive resume during the 1993 - 1994. 1994 - 1995 seasons. Tony Twist took over as champ during the latter 1995 too 1999 season. George Laraque took over 2000 - 2003. Donald Brashear was the next champ. After losing to Sandy McCarthy on April 2, 1994. Bob Probert continued on as a top 10 fighter on the fight cards until 2000 - 2001 season. Probert's prime run was the longest. He was good at winning big rematch fights. As a whole, he is considered the greatest fighter all - time at no. 1. Dave Brown is the number 2 greatest fighter all-time, and number 1, most feared, and destructive fighter to drop the gloves.
Probert was a beast
Remember when Stu KO’d Reid Simpson, those were the days
That's incredible footage, thanks......
no mcgratten vs lucic? that would have been a good one
shit, that fight with mcgratten was a major tilt
I'd like to see former Philly Flyer Dave Schultz profiled
I think his momma said to Knock you OUT! So he did. Literally. You dont see that too often in hockey but a kuul new sport would be MMAHockey
Uhhhhhh if you think this was Stu's top 5 fights, you have clearly missed a TON of damage of what he's done...
Freaking awesome!!!! I appreciate the work that went into putting this vid together. Loved it
I absolutely hated Claude with a passion, but damn he was good at what he did best..
Kocur was a beast
Beast!!!!
I read somewhere that Probert ( RIP) said about fighting Domi " it doesnt matter how hard you hit the guy his head is like a rock " 😂 respect from one legend to the next
Wendel was perfect for the Chuck Norris division.
Was a huge Blackhawks fan as a kid and the Reaper was easily my favourite. Didn't know at the time that the reason Grimson-Probert fought so much according to Probert's book, Peluso was extremely intimidated and fearful of Probert.
RIP BOB WE MISS YOU
The McSorley fight, they were both telling the refs to not break it up.
We got max domi now, like his dad but plays a bit more hockey 🤙
Sure was nice to see Patrick Roy get his ass handed to him by Mike Vernon
ohhhhh man i remember all of these games, have not seen any replays till now...wow...what a time that was!...brought me back to the moment. God i miss those kind of games. I wish Stevie Y would get some meat heads on the forward lines and we could see some more action....thanks for posting this...brought back good memories of those crazy parties we used to have!...
How can you not have the Reid Simpson KO? Purest punch I’ve ever seen.
Refs just standing there...they should be fired .
