This technically is not a Barn Find, it was in a guys storage semi-trailer in his backyard so maybe you can classify that as a barn with wheels? Regardless, this vintage Honda Was super cool. You will NEVER EVER regret buying that FZ1. I got a 2010 Silver and it gives me a lot of happiness..... Smooth, a lot power... Just take in consideration that on ALL this bikes 06-10 THE MAGNET ROTOR EXPLODES!!! Change it in advance.... IT WILL OCCUR TO YOU. Don't forget to modify the Air filter box, (LARS MODIFICATION) getting a brand new O2 sensor because it gives you a lot of headaches. Iridium NGK spark plugs and changing the sprocket ratio to 16/46.... Ufffffff delicious it'll become a beast.... Some delicious ContiSport Attack 4 may be awesome too...... For any questions I'm here ....🏍️ 🍻👌🏻
Thanks for all the great tips, and thanks for watching!
Awesome videos! As FZ1 owners we are thankful! 👍🏼💪🏼
I’m glad you are enjoying the videos. Thanks for watching!!
Love it! It's getting close.
Two more videos!
Delcevic ebay ,quality exhaust comes with mid pipe cheap ,good quality
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!
The Best to do is to get a Better cheap Exhaust.
You are probably correct. Thanks for watching!
❤️🫶🏻🙃👍🏻
Oh yeah I see what you’re saying.
Nice video👍
Thanks for watching!
@@lifewithdave9202 👍
The piece of tube you had inside the muffler is a reducer that you can weld on to your existing exhaust if required, without that I believe the muffler and pipe would have slid inside one another and been the correct length without any cutting and held in place with the springs?
Good poin. Yeah I guess I could have cut that reducer off instead of the mid pipe. Either way it works-ish haha. Thanks for watching!
You miss my point, if I could upload a pic / video to explain I would, the reducer was already inserted in the inlet of the silencer, if you removed it the mid pipe would have fitted inside the inlet of the silencer, remove the springs, remove the silencer then you should find you can remove the reducer from the inlet of the silencer,
I have the same exhausts, how can I send you a picture to explain?
@@williamjcoates I understand what you’re saying. Thanks for the tip!
That bike sounds angry 😠
It actually does sound pretty good. Thanks for watching!
@10:55 - textbook ring-around-the-rosie technique.
Yeah honestly most pros will tell you it’s the only way to go.
What else you gotta do except get that custom exhaust sorted?
This beauty is full of never ending surprises.
This guys videos taught me how to fix bikes it’s worth a follow 👆
Hahah. I teach what not to do.
@4:17 did you have to plug in an NES game cartridge? I'm assuming it's excite bike?
What a great game that was. Taught me so much about life.
500th subscriber wooohoo
Hell yeah!!! I appreciate you so much. Thank you for watching!
Absolutly fantastic bikes, would recommend dropping a tooth on the front sporket, 16t up front really makes the bike come to life IMO.
Great idea! I have to check to see what’s on there now. Maybe the previous owner already made this change. Thanks for watching!
My frst bike
Nice! Still have it?! And, thanks for watching.
Can you make a video on how u removed the front fairing
Hey thanks for watching! I’ll see if I have any video on that. Truthfully, some of it was busted and there were only a few screws and wiring harness to unclip.
Nice editing
thanks for watching!
i have one and love it!
Awesome! Glad to hear it. Hey thanks for watching.
quick question will you be doing the ecu flash mod?
Great question. I doubt it. I have a sneaking suspicion the person that had the bike before me already did it. There was a handful of mods that were done that makes me think it maybe done already.
currently rebuilding my 08 fazer, trying to find a complete tail section fairng as well as bolts, any chance you know where I could track one down other then $1000+ from factory lol
Man I have no idea. That’s the problem I’m finding with this rebuild. It’s hard to justify putting on expensive OEM parts haha. I’ve been buying eBay/amazon aftermarket stuff. Thanks for watching!!
Hey dude enjoyed the ride. I love riding in the wintertime. This is mid July in Louisiana, and it's way too hot to ride here. I've got a 2005 FZ1a buddy gave me. It was in pristine shape with 36k miles. I say was cause I dropped it at a gas station. I had dropped my glove, though, for some stupid reason I thought I could lean over and grab it. I had maybe an inch left to go, and I felt the bike go on the other side and take me with it. Can't wait see what you do with the FZ1
Oh no that stinks man! What a bummer dropping the bike like that. I rebuilt a Harley a few years ago (vids on the channel) and I dropped it the day after I put the new front fairing on haha. Sucked. Thanks for watching!
@lifewithdave9202 that day..wow. I know that hurt the heart. Got a buddy I help every now and then rebuilds sportsters mostly. I grew up in the 70's, had an h1 500 and the h2 750 kawasaki. Helped a friend rebuild a purple 73 750. The 750 was fun. Took about 8 months and $10k buying parts mostly off ebay
I'd say with the sweet Monster sticker, you shouldn't have any problem unloading this puppy.
Oh yeah, that puppy isn’t going anywhere.
It’s about time
Amen! Thanks for watching!
Are those Kerker mufflers? I had this exact bike 30 years ago and someone had replaced the stock exhaust of 4 individual mufflers with these dual 2 to 1 pipes. Sounded cool I guess but the bike never ran right and I really think it was that exhaust screwing with the back pressure. I'll never know.
Hey thanks for watching! Those are stock pipes i believe.
@@lifewithdave9202 Did you ever get it running right?
I actually took it to a local shop that specializes in vintage bikes (I posted a UA-cam short about it). That dude has had it for over a year and hasn't touched it haha. I'll be getting it back soon just as I left it and restarting that project myself. Stay tuned!
You will get (at best) $1,500 for that bike in average running condition. Not a popular model. Ask me how I know... If it aint a CB750, 900, 1000, nobody wants it .
Thanks for the input! And thanks for watching!
Call me nobody then, because I love this bike. Simply because it was the first cool bike I owned as a kid, sold it when I was in the Navy and couldn't ride it. Kicking myself ever since. Got my eye on one right now, and I know I'm paying more than 2k for it.
@@JohnEwan You are in the minority
@@HorsepowerHouse hell yeah
I have an 82 cb650, there is a likely chance that your tank is rusting. I had to clean my tank and coat the inside as I was getting rusty gas going into the carbs as well. Good luck on the build!
Thanks for the tip! The tank was surprisingly in great shape. Thanks for watching!
needs a 4in1
Not a bad idea…
pfft its a honda theyre practically indestructible i remember riding my 125m atc without oil for hours lol it would shut off usually when it ran out from smoking so bad id just top her off with used oil lol rode it for years
Haha amen! Thanks for watching!
There's nothing like a good winter ride. You feel really deeply connected to the harshness of nature, but you also see its beauty. A rider who only goes out when it's warm is missing half of the experience of riding a motorcycle. Even if you don't become a dedicated winter rider, try it at least once.
Well said! Thanks for watching!
Nice job
thank you and thanks for watching!

Thinking of pulling the trigger on a V7 at Throttle Co. Looking at a used Bonneville as well. Greetings from central Ohio!
I’d imagine both are great bikes! But I loooove the V7. I stopped in at that dealership before, seem like great dudes. Thanks for watching!!
Will it ever run? It will if you can manage to tie your shoes and chew gum at the same time
thats why i only wear flip-flops.

haha that's awful! thanks for watching.
You lucky m'fer, you have the weather to take out that sweet baby. Mine is still plugged to the wallbox, in my barn that's surrounded by feet of snow. Come on, spring.
haha. for sure, spring is here for us! thanks for watching!
@@lifewithdave9202 And my baby’s out for spring. Had to ride under the eclipse. Great way to kick off the season.
As someone who has done the same rebuild on a 2010 FLHTCU. Pay close attention to the triple tree assembly? I could not remove one of the struts and removed the entire assembly. And when I did the lower bearings in triple tree was crushed and we were never able to remove either of the struts. Did a ebay search and found used triple tree with new bearings and new struts but glad I did!
Thanks for the info! I ended up buying an entire new assembly from the dealership. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven't already!

your roads are very straight out there. nice video but it would have been better if the exhaust could be heard more. thanks for posting.
Thanks for the input! I’m experimenting with different microphone locations: this was not a winner haha. Thanks for watching!
@@lifewithdave9202 I think some people clip the mic to the back of their jacket to pick up the exhaust sound?
I’ll give that a try. I was afraid the wind noise would be too bad. I had it inside my jacket clipped to my back.
Shoulda turned right and gave a shout out to the Ol' Remsen house.
i failed :(
To bad the tear down was fast-forward. I am doing 04 FLHPI wheel bent in and to the left. I wanted the cans I used a heavy hammer still damn things only moved 3 inches. Inspection all I think I need is NYS Insp. Bike belonged to a Maryland PD.Fredrick MD went off in 17 sold at auction last yr.
