Hey dude enjoyed the ride. I love riding in the wintertime. This is mid July in Louisiana, and it's way too hot to ride here. I've got a 2005 FZ1a buddy gave me. It was in pristine shape with 36k miles. I say was cause I dropped it at a gas station. I had dropped my glove, though, for some stupid reason I thought I could lean over and grab it. I had maybe an inch left to go, and I felt the bike go on the other side and take me with it. Can't wait see what you do with the FZ1

I'd say with the sweet Monster sticker, you shouldn't have any problem unloading this puppy.

Are those Kerker mufflers? I had this exact bike 30 years ago and someone had replaced the stock exhaust of 4 individual mufflers with these dual 2 to 1 pipes. Sounded cool I guess but the bike never ran right and I really think it was that exhaust screwing with the back pressure. I'll never know.

You will get (at best) $1,500 for that bike in average running condition. Not a popular model. Ask me how I know... If it aint a CB750, 900, 1000, nobody wants it .

I have an 82 cb650, there is a likely chance that your tank is rusting. I had to clean my tank and coat the inside as I was getting rusty gas going into the carbs as well. Good luck on the build!

pfft its a honda theyre practically indestructible i remember riding my 125m atc without oil for hours lol it would shut off usually when it ran out from smoking so bad id just top her off with used oil lol rode it for years

There's nothing like a good winter ride. You feel really deeply connected to the harshness of nature, but you also see its beauty. A rider who only goes out when it's warm is missing half of the experience of riding a motorcycle. Even if you don't become a dedicated winter rider, try it at least once.

As someone who has done the same rebuild on a 2010 FLHTCU. Pay close attention to the triple tree assembly? I could not remove one of the struts and removed the entire assembly. And when I did the lower bearings in triple tree was crushed and we were never able to remove either of the struts. Did a ebay search and found used triple tree with new bearings and new struts but glad I did!

Mine did not slide. Ball joint fork at top. Bottom 3 pound hammer moved 3 in . Want the stupid cans off the forks.

Stock pipes are not the best for sure... go for mistral and you won't regret!

To bad the tear down was fast-forward. I am doing 04 FLHPI wheel bent in and to the left. I wanted the cans I used a heavy hammer still damn things only moved 3 inches. Inspection all I think I need is NYS Insp. Bike belonged to a Maryland PD.Fredrick MD went off in 17 sold at auction last yr.

Cold weather is the best for me. When well equipped, this is so much fun. At one point, I asked myself “do I get rid of the car?” A 80cm snowstorm later, I had my answer. But still, I ride that little spicy meatball over a way longer period in the year than I initially thought.

Ain’t it a blast? I got myself an all-black V7 Stone that was sitting there at my local dealer. Here in Québec, everybody only has eyes for HDs and the 4 majors. So nobody wanted this delicious V7. Well, the dealer didn’t want to see this bike sitting in his showroom anymore…so he shaved 3000$ off sticker for me to leave with it. Yeah!, I know: lol. I just love that bike. So fun to ride.

Cold and dry weather ,but the roads have been treated with salt. After the ride, you should wash and rinse completly your bike. If you don’t , the thin salt dust layer will cause corrosion on the bare metal pieces rapidly with the air moisture . If you ride the bike during the winter you can also apply some motor oil or grease, but not on the brakes. Ride safely.

I recently purchased a 2021 V7 Stone with Mistral exhausts last month. Only had it out once so far. What a bike with so much character! Bob near Erie, PA. What part of Ohio do you call home?

Great job brother, I have a 08 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom and I rebuilt the whole front end with forks, sub frame, motor mount frame, fairing, headlights etc… wasn’t expecting to lay it down but unfortunately on accident and walked away. Thank god! 🙏👍🤘 keep it safe brother
