Friends this selection is just a scratching of the surface of the riches Clark Terry left us. If I am fortunate to get to heaven I would be thrilled to meet this genius.

where can I find a lyric sheet for this #? always wondered how Dylan managed to remember all the words to all those long songs during that last folk tour before he went electric? That was nothing compared to this one song. And the last couple minutes in German. I think it unfortunate that Mr. Terry rushes thru this performance in such a hurry Leonard Cohen or Lady Day would have slowed it down enough to hear every word clearly

this is brilliant from start to finish the switch to German towards the end just ups the ante one more reminder of how very much awesome music I've never heard of is still out there waiting for me to somehow stumble across it by surprise I got here by touring the variety of different versions of Saint James Infirmary so picking a path to something new+great ain't exactly a matter of strategy

He was truly talented and a showman - I saw him twice in Sag Harbor at the Whalers Church- an amazing venue. It was part of a series that Hal McKusick organized called “jazz in the Harbor” . What an honor to be there! Audio Recording is excellent- not an easy task with all those band members!

Firstly, I absolutely love what Clark Terry did for art. Secondly, listening to this makes me feel like I’m listening to some lost mythical dialect from one of the conquered civilizations from Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit.

Love, Love, Love, Bob's Music and jokes. My uncle was a big fan and purchased 3 LPs. Last year I went to visit my mom before the cancer took her, and my uncle let me make mp3's, my 2 favorites are his completely clean dirty song where he sings Marty Robbins' El Paso and leaves out words for the listener to fill in themselves :-), the other is his rendition of Vincent (starry starry night) really wish the family could legally release all his recordings, they are a national treasure.... ok, an Iowan treasure.

You all realize that Clark just played a jazz solo while his horn was upside down. There are trumpet players that wish they could play a solo that good right side up.

I remember the Wakonda lounge that had live music next to the Baskin- Robbins. A great folk singer Bob Cook and Gary Audsley the best base player I ever heard, played there. Bob later opened the Watering Hole out on Merle Hay road was a bigger better place to enjoy them. Bob also did a lot of voice over work on TV ad's. I just did a search on Apple music and was pleased to find one of his albums and songs like " Love is a Verb" " Kretchma" "Desperados" "Rose" a total of 31 GREAT sons Almost as good as You Tube
