Beginner Tips for Tarkov: Scav Speak
Hi everyone! After a long break, I'm back with another video as an entry in the Escape from Tarkov tips for beginners contest. I decided to do my top 5 favorite scav phrases with a little explanation and re-hash of each one. Most of these have been translated before in my previous videos, but I put this together in a slightly different style for the competition. Hope you enjoy, and thanks for watching!

Once more we dive into the world of slogans written on the walls of Tarkov, plus a handful of signs and the like. Sorry for the long delay between videos!

Decided to try out a new series where I explain some of the graffiti and Russian slogans you see spray-painted on surfaces throughout Tarkov. I thought I'd do it on a map-by-map basis and start with Woods. This is not an exhaustive list of every piece of Russian graffiti in each map but I tried to cover the obvious ones. If you have ones you've seen that I didn't cover and you're curious about,...
Scav Rant Breakdown with bonus COD: MW2 Open Beta footage
Переглядів 1,7 тис.Рік тому
Alright folks we got a little crossover video here. I break down that one long rant from Escape from Tarkov over some buttery footage of the new Call of Duty that was in open beta this weekend. As many of you may know, the famous Scav Rant comes from a 1991 film called Blood and Concrete: A Love Story, which has a wonderfully imaginative Russian dubbing. This dubbing is the same script that the...

So I decided to do something a little different for this video and put out some music along with the translation of some Russian lyrics. This is a cover of one of my favorite songs by the rock group KINO. Kino was an extremely influential band in the Soviet Union in the 80s, led by the charismatic and beloved Viktor Tsoy. This is my little tribute. Hope you like it!
What are Scavs Saying? Part 3 CORRECTIONS | Escape from Tarkov

In this video I attempt to clarify a few things that I got wrong in the previous videos, as well as expand upon a couple of the finer points of Russian grammar. Let me know what you thought in the comments and if this format was helpful, or what could be improved upon!

Chip is back to break down a few more phrases that drunken bandits scream at you in Tarkov. Also it looks like we may have mixed up шалава and салага. Sorry about that but corrections are welcome! Enjoy!
Tarkov Woods Explained in Under Two Minutes

This reminded me of one of those World War 2 movies where both guys run out of ammo and resort out of desperation to hand-to-hand combat in the trenches. Little weekend video that I think captures the true essence of what it means to raid with the big bad wolves on Woods. Music by Chip.

What are Scavs Saying? Part 1 | Escape from Tarkov
Переглядів 237 тис.2 роки тому
For this video I've decided to translate a number of scav voice lines from Escape from Tarkov, specifically focusing on the lines they say when they are just hanging out and in a (relatively) good mood. I've also added in explanations of a few of the pop culture references that are contained in some of these catchphrases.

I'm kind of organizing my inventory lol, I mean in game and so just wanted to say kind of subversively that I wouldn't have minded if the voice lines were translated out loud instead of text because I am listening to like so many videos but I don't mind taking a brake to read what they NPC's are saying, just you know... I would have appreciated it if the text lines from the video were read out loud but hey. Thanks for the video anyway, I was looking for the NPC translations.

4:08 "спили мушку" is from anecdote Дикий Запад.

1:57 Also cheekie breekie is a kids game (the specific phrase in tarkov is actually the chant that is used during it). Kids form a circle using their index and middle finger (kinda looks like a star if you imagine it) and start counting with syllables "чи-ки бри-ки паль-чик вы-кинь" And the finger that the end of the phrase is landed on is being put away. The game continues until there's one finger left. So it's actually not "stick your pinky out", it's more like "put your finger out/away"

This is not my forté but I'm wondering if the decibel levels aren't the end all be all. As in, maybe there's a cognitive difference between types of music. So your perception and my feedback may be all over the place if you aren't using the same background music every time. Just an idea.

2:43 This follows a similar train of thought as the Hungarian proverb: "Jobb kezem a kórház, a bal a köztemető!" (literally: "My right hand is the hospital, and my left is the public cemetery!", more correctly: "My right hand sends you to the hospital, and my left sends you to the graveyard!"). The proverb is commonly attributed to László Papp, an Olympic gold medallist and European champion boxer, and indeed, he had a tendency of winning his matches with a K.O. (55 knockouts in the amateur matches, 15 as a pro).

As someone, who is learning Russian, I found myself using the "Pizdariki na vozdushnom shariki!" and "Normas, normas!" at work at an alarmingly large scale, ever since I came in contact with the game. Hell, even my coworkers know now what do these lines mean!
