I feel like the men in the photo are closely inspired by Tyler the Creator which is a good thing since it shows that more men are fashion-conscious but I think it's also easy to fall into that trap of trying to do everything with your wardrobe at once. It makes everyone look same-same while vying to be unique

I'm 5'5 and I have taller women telling me that they find me attractive, so I love the fact that you preface this video by saying that it is a mindset shift about how you view yourself as it will reflect to the style you wear(whatever it is) and would be reflected also to others. Confidence is key :)

I was a 5'6" short guy. I have never had problems in the dating department whatsoever. But as i got older, i noticed that i my height was becoming more of an issue, not just with women, but with people in general. But i didnt really want to think that people were actually treating me different because i was short. I wanted to think that the world wasnt that shallow. But i was wrong.. so i decided to become a better version of myself about five years ago. I underwent two limb lengthening surgeries. I went from 5'6" to about 5'11". This is a message to anyone that has considered this surgery, if you are at your breaking point and you dont want to continue to live as a short man, i would highly suggest this transforming procedure. It has made me feel like i am on top of the world. Even though the cost was exteme and the recovery was grueling, it was the best thing ive ever done. It has changed my life. I no longer feel like im standing in a hole, and my confidence level is better than its ever been. I no longer have to have my pants altered and i have perfect dimensions. Because my torso has always been longer than my legs. I dont have the athletic abilities that i once had, but the trade off was worth it. Also, i have always been the black sheep in my family and my mother has always mistreated me including my siblings. And i think it was because of my height. I have went years and years without even talking to her. She wanted nothing to do with me. And about three years ago i decided to go see her. (I had to google her address) and when i walked into the room she didnt know who i was. And when she realized who i was all she talked about was my height. She kept saying that i looked so tall and what did i have done. I just told her that she had gotten shorter. But my point is she acted like i was worth her time now that i wasnt short. Well, i dont have anything to do with her, and it was like i felt vindicated in some way. I was always the same sweet guy just short. And she actually disowned me because of it and called me sawed off. Its pretty bad when your not good enough to be loved by your family because of your height. But i won and my life has been wonderful ever since. So to the short guys that are devastated because of your height, be happy that you have a loving family that accepts you the way that you are. Just be glad that your parents have an unconditional love for you. And they dont judge you like its your fault. I actually think that if i had that kind of unconditional love, i probably would have loved myself a lot more than i did. But seriously, if you want to be a better version of yourself it is possible through surgery. And you won't regret it i promise.

As a guy that is 5'8" and very confident I find it hilarious that some taller guys find value in their height. Its prob because a lot of women think there is some hidden value in height... so it gives some of those guys a feeling of superiority. More power to anyone that finds value in themselves but it is a little humorous to me. I dress like I shouldnt... ignoring what would give me the illusion of height and I always stand out in most scenarios I step in.. because I dont follow typical norms and let my light shine. I get doods asking where I got this and that and remarks about how fresh my fit is. On the other hand, women scope and give me openings for conversation if I choose to approach. I think its all about loving yourself in a healthy manner... and staying confident in your own skin and wears.

As a 5ft8 man, I really appreciate this video and just wanna add a tip that I learned myself: For short guys, you sort of can't play around too much with proportions (you obviously can if you want to, it's just not gonna be as effective as let's say the rule of thirds proportions, if your main goal is to look taller), so try to find other ways to make your outfits seem more interesting, especially by utilizing textures and juxtaposition, because after a while if you're like me you'd probably be bored with safer proportions. Try mixing up different materials in your outfit (for example: A matte black, fuzzy overcoat with a shiny, gloss black leather jacket underneath it; or a matt black, ribbed t-shirt with a wool blend, slightly shinier, more flowy pair of pants) and create visually contrasting but still pleasing silhouettes (like she said, small tops, gradually wider bottoms; or instead of the obvious choice like chunky shoes, try to opt for a heeled but sleeker pair of square toe derbies, like those from Lemaire, peeking out of the bottom of your wide pants) can make all the differences in making your outfits look more stylish. And also, tailoring is your friend. I'm lucky enough to live in a country where tailoring 10 pairs of pants can cost as low as $10, but you still can achieve what you hope for by knowing your measurements, shopping exclusively at sites that offer size charts (believe me, this is going to make shopping much less frustrating) and then make small adjustments to your liking. Honestly been short guy it's not that bad, I kind of like been short, I’m 5’3” and one of the best tips I can give to short kings that are into fashion, is to learn how to sew guys, because let's accept it, the men’s fashion scene its aim to tall guys, and there’s a lot of benefits of learning to sew, you literally became your own personal tailor, so by learning how to sew you can always get perfect fitting pants and shirt lengths (I’m 5’3 and for tops length, what I find what works best for me are tops no more longer than 25”, but honestly my perfect t-shirt length are 24”, and sometimes I want to wear something more crop look I go for 23” t-shirts), so that’s why I love sewing so much because I always can tailor a shirt to my proportions or hem a super long pans. So please if you are short, learn how to sew, it’s so useful.

For the lunks 💪🏼 out there, get your measurements and avoid tops/bottoms that are too long. I try to go for relaxed fits because of my wide chest/shoulder but don't wanna up size normal fitting tops cuz then I end up with this awkwardly long shirt. And straight fit or relaxed straight jeans since my thighs are thicc, and always get them hemmed or try and get shorter inseams from the gecko.

I'm 6'1 but I'm really into men's clothing (tailored clothing and not streetwear) so I still gave this a watch because I wanted to hear what you had to say. I think you did quite well overall. You're absolutely correct that body type and finding clothes that fit and flatter are the key. There is no such thing as "tall guys can't wear ____" or "short guys can't wear _____". If you ever hear anyone say this, rest assured they know little to nothing about fashion and how to dress because that stuff is pseudoscience fluff. Anyways, good job on the vid and gonna check out some of your other fashion ones now that I'm here.

I'm 5'8 and have been insecure about my height for a while. I recently got some straight fit jeans rather than super baggy jeans I was wearing previously. I love how they compliment my body type. All the tips you had in this video will definately help with my style and confidence, Thank you! P.S. the term "short king" I find sort of condecending / patronizing, I think a lot of people would find "short person", "short man" or "short guy" a bit more respectful. I know you didn't mean any offense by it but it's just a bit humiliating to be called "king".

As a short dude this is a great vid for styling. Personally don’t agree with the use of “short king” tho it’s a backhanded compliment and patronizing. 9/10 it’s used as an insult or slur I’m no “king” anything I’m just a guy that happens to be short I’m just myself. Imagine calling a fat girl “fat queen” uno? We don’t need phrases that others us like I’m no less of a man than a man that isn’t short. We’re both men at the end of the day.

whats everyone's opinion on getting vintage tees cropped to better fit a short king. I have so many grail tees from '90s but some are just way too long but I also feel bad about messing with/altering the integrity of the tee

I really agree with what you said about confidence being key when it comes to being short. Loving what you wear makes a huge difference for sure! People feed off your energy, so owning it is important. While wider jeans can work, I find slimmer or straight fits (i also love bootcut) look better on someone short like me (I’m 5'5 and leaner). cowboy boots are great too they add height (around two inches) and look natural. This video was a reality check for short men (I'm 5'3). Thank you for your mens fashion videos because very recently I got a whole new wardrobe with a lot of the Inspo that you shared. Very useful and I think that more high school kids around my age who have a lack of confidence should try a fashion swap and see if that helps. Thank you.

Yeah I honestly don’t really like the talk in the beginning. Most women prefer somebody taller than them for the same reasons you gave 💀 saying “I was with a shorter man and felt insecure, so now I have a preference for taller men” is not an endearing thing like you think it is. The finger pointing of “you should be confident and not insecure, accept yourself ” while you dont do any reflection or even say that’s your issue/insecurity that you should work on, just shorter men need to fix themselves feels very icky ngl. The whole video is kinda just patronizing tbh, change “short men” to other immutable characteristics it comes so obviously strange.

As a short man myself, I find that most of us either severely overestimate or underestimate how important height is when it comes to attractiveness. Nothing inbetween.

I get what you mean, but if his height makes you feel insecure, it might actually be part of the problem. Not wanting to admit that to yourself could be harmful, as it keeps you from addressing what’s really bothering you
