Pruning Basil
Переглядів 879 місяців тому
But here’s the deal… ✂️ Pruning herbs like basil, thyme, oregano, and mint is necessary to prolong leaf production. 🌸 When the plant starts to bolt, meaning to flower, not running 🏃♀️, the energy from the roots will be directed to maturing the seeds, not producing leaves. At that point, basil leaves will be tougher and taste bitter. 🌱 “Pinching” means pruning back by removing the growing tips ...

In Southern California, specifically in the Los Angeles area, gardening pretty much happens all year long. Just because the weather is heating up, doesn’t mean it is too late to plant vegetables. Here are my 3-favorites vegetables I still plant right now in July. Please remember to Like and Subscribe. Thank you! Catharina Gunawan lives with her husband in the suburb of Los Angeles. Wow, this is beautiful now this is the way to grow them. This reminds me of my daddy‘s grapevine we had in the back of our yard with the grapes were just hanging through the cage. This is the way to do it right here. This is awesome.🥰💜
I hear passionfruit can get pretty wild and spread all over. How do you maintain it to just one area? Is it in ground or in container? Looks beautiful btw! Really wanting something like this.
U heard right. The key is regular pruning 😂 it is growing in a raised bed on one side of the arch.
@@HusbandToFeed Haha! Has it taken over any other parts of your yard yet? Or has the regular pruning been able to stop it from spreading? I looove passion fruit but so hesitant to turn my backyard into a passion fruit forest LOL.
@@noumoua9994 we kept it on the arch and pergola :) Then every year prune it all the way back to the main branches on the arch. Then start again.
it is a sure sign of trust if a prey animal closes their eyes around you on purpose

How many vines is that?
One plant.
One.
@@HusbandToFeedWow!How long it took to grow that big? Thanks
This was really good, thank you!
You’re welcome.
That was fun to watch! Thanks for the different options. And I will prob play too😂
Thank you so much for the ideas, i just found a tree in my yard, it been there for couple months but i been feeling lazy, so today i went to cut it and found out its a passion fruit tree, i think mh neighbors threw some seeds to their chicken but unintentionally over my fence as well, its already start making flowers so I'll get a gazebo tomorrow at home depot
which seed bro Nadai?
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤
I grew passion fruit from the seeds, the plants are healthy but after 2 years I don't see flowers, can you help me to make them "productive".Thanks
From what I learned, from seeds it will take about 2 years-ish. Ample watering and fertilizing make a difference too. If the type of passionfruit seeds you are growing is correct, and already viny and full with leaves, try add fertilizer with high content of phosphorous - the middle number of NPK on the packaging. I usually apply every 2 weeks for 2-e applications. Hope this works for you.
This is definitely my vibe❗
Mine too! I plan to grow more tomatoes again this year.
What is this fruit used for ?
Mainly drinks, desserts, ice creams.
Mere yahan full to nikale lekin fal nhi aaya
Jamaican: We use ginger, pimento, and some use dried orange peels as well,
Is this from one plant? Or how many plants in this?
From 1 plant.
How long will the syrup and jam last in the fridge?
Well, we finished them in 2 weeks. So for sure 2 weeks 😅
Do you pull the flowers through or does it naturally fall through when it gets heavy?
We pull some of the fruit through to make it easier to harvest . But there are plenty above the gazebo.
How often do you water passion fruit Ayer they produce flowers?
The plant is part of our vegetable irrigation system that waters daily for 5-10 min depending on the weather. They produce flowers constantly in the summer.
Why don't you just use the syrup for tea? It's pretty much the same thing, except you're not gonna get nearly the amount of flavor from steeping dry calyxes.
This video was very helpful. I grew the roselles but had no idea how to process them. Thanks so much for these instructions!
My pleasure! ❤
My pleasure! ❤️
What kind of manure we have to add the flowers are falling down please reply
organic liquid fertilizer, fish emulsion. but first check that your soil quality is good. also soil needs to be consistently moist when flowering and fruiting.
maybe light blood meal dressing on top of soil. make sure u are using mulch
Check first if your passionfruit plant is the self pollinating type. If it is, try sprinkling azomite every 2 weeks around the base.
Thank you so much 🙏
I love fennel. I wonder if I can grow it in s Florida because it is rarely available in grocery stores here. I love chewings on the stems for snack.
I would think you can. Well drained soil and full sun. Florida is more humid than SoCal, so probably easy on watering them.
I raise them to
Wow! Do you have a problem with ants? Ants love my passion fruit vines.
Yes there are ants. But they help pollinate the flowers. Once in a while I placed ant traps and sprinkle DE to manage the population.
How did you root cuttings of cincau?
Aqui comemos as folhas cozidas com arroz, ou sozinha mesmo , comemos com tudo as folhas cozidas 😂😂😂
Nice

Great idea, love the containers.
Nice
Thank you 🥰
Ok, what’s your trick to get yours to grow like this?!!! 😮😮😮😮
Yes what,s trick
Full sun, fertile soil, regular watering, heavy prune in Winter, fertilize with fish fertilizer during growth period, bone meal during flowering. Plenty of air circulation and chance for pollination by growing it on a gazebo.
@@HusbandToFeedBy Heavy prune do you mean cut it right back? I am planning to plant it in an arbour. Not sure whether it'll survive the winter in the North East of UK. Thanks.
Goals! I have yet to have ours grow like this!
Lol 😂
How many plants did you plant to get yours to vine like this?
2 plants from seeds. Full sunlight and plenty of heat. They are planted in a big in a raised bed (4x12) facing South (in southern California, zone 10). The soil is rich and always moist. I pruned them heavily to a few main vines in late fall/early winter. And cut down those main vines to 2’. They grow back very fast.
Very informative. I’m going to give this plant a try.
What does the cinnamon do?
Cinnamon acts as fungicide.

I did it with Woodglut.
We use fennel leaves as omlette with eggs
Yes 🙌🏻
i just want to be alone
😂 well, too bad. When they are broody we can’t leave them alone. Coz the eggs she is sitting on won’t hatch anyways.
@HusbandToFeed well I guess I got to get to peckin on yo ass😉
You are a nice mom
Thank you! Your video was short and straight to the point. I got a heavy-duty clear shower curtain years ago on sale ($5 bucks) and it has been just sitting in my cabinet. I think I found a use for it. I will cut it up and use it for my new planter box.
Thank you for sharing. I was wondering if you might have done a video on those cuttings from the roselle plant. I would enjoy seeing your process to rooting and growing and planting out.
I'm rooting for you. 🎶🍀🌼🎁👌
Nice to meet you. I enjoyed the video of making jam using the pods of Hibiscus Roselle. I am also interested in this plant. I grew it myself, harvested it, and ate it in a similar way I enjoyed the video, and I have a neighborhood to cheer for. I hope you share it with my channel and cheer for me. 🎶🍀🌿🌼🎁🙆♂️
I will try this, thanks for sharing
Let me know how it goes! :D
