Did my 08 CL 63 AMG during COVID at home. Damaged condenser but the radiator cost 100 dollar and the car has 160K on it and has cold a/c. Last night (this morning) I completed my ML63 AMG with 167K and your video and guidance was very helpful... To other's comments, radiators are not simple and there is usually collateral damage but the job forces you to change fluids and conduct maintenance. I have replaced a radiator in all my cars over 100K since 1996.......... As a Automotive Engineer, hats off you you Sir and all the folks at home trying to keep your rides going!!!

Great video! I have a 2010 GL450 and the front 2 wheels sagged down overnight together with an Airmatic malfunction error on screen. The pump does not make any noise when I unlock the car or start it up so I assume the pump went out but could that cause the front 2 wheels to sag together over night, I am wondering if something else is bad too. Thanks!

Thanks for posting. I just replaced the driver side ballast on my 2016 GL550 using this video. I did not need to remove the whole wheel well shroud to get access, only 3 push pins needed removed to peel it back enough. Mercedes calls the part a light module, but everyone else calls it ballast, important to know when looking at the part diagram and ordering generic parts.

To open the lid i use the T tool the one that u close water in the street. It works perfectly and secures the lid perfectly

My 2013 GL450 driver side light is not working, symptoms: when turned on, the light goes on, but I can hear noise around the headlight. After a few seconds, the light goes off, so goes the noise. Wonder your problem was similar? Not sure if I should just replace the ballast. Thank you!

Did the Lang pliers with the 90 degree end up working or did you do something else to actually get it separated?

I've just bought one looks very similar. How about doing some close up shots of the sides of the engine, filters etc. So I can compare to see if mine is the same. Thanks

2007 Mercedes Benz GL 450 Hey dan, was driving and heard a pop/knock where I believe the compressor is and minutes after ride started bouncing really bad, pulled over to see BOTH rear tires almost rubbing the wheel wells. I sprayed soapy water for leaks on bags and lines, saw nothing. Front bags are completely fine. Back right bag had been replaced recently. Also found a plastic black screw cap and a silver piece that seems to have fell out of the compressor, I put it back in and still no response on the rear bags. Maybe I put the pieces back in wrong? anyways dont have a scan tool and dont know if i should replace the generator or valve block. Any help?

Wasn't my favorite repair but I was also able to replace the radiator without touching the AC system. Wish I saw your video earlier! Had the end tank cracked in a similar area.

Great video. I just don't understand... I just broke the tops of the A/C tabs off the old radiator.. why waste time trying un clip them? Just put a screwdriver on the clip and give it a lil bang

Good for you mate but in my case, with the size of my hands I had to remove the front panel. Not too many cuts on your hands I hope ;-)

I'm about to have to do my 2016 E63S AMG. I seen the wis saying disconnect both ac lines & I was like ugh. Hopefully I won't have to do that

Hi, I have an e350 with 722.9 tranny and no drive or reverse and no fault codes so suspect the pump failed and is not circulating fluid. Was the seized bushing you had found causing a similar issue on that vehicle? Thanks!

How come the new Mercedes is not that durable? I drive W210 and its aged 22 now. Last month, I replaced radiator by Mahle Behr which is made in China. Now sure if it is as durable as the OEM Valeo.

Did you have to code the new ballast or ?

Did you finally got this car back on the road after the transmission swap, did you have to do SNC coding on the new one. What was the outcome, I am about to go through the same swap but I am thinking that I will need the SNC coding

Mine also drips A few drops first, then completely stops half an inch up. I thot my blockageit was due to mineral deposits blocking the tube valves… I have tried the strongest vinegar with little dilution for days. No joy. I discovered if I take the lid off the water reservoir and squeeze the little rubber air thingy on the top left of the water reservoir that it does get some results… But even that is minimal now. I wish the video showed a slower detail on removing the top cap, as I can’t pull mine off after removing the two screws. Thank you as this was helpful at the very end after I had lost faith in your previous troubleshooting. I wonder if I have the same aluminum issue. Keurig should fix that as it’s obviously an issue…

I’ve had around 8 of the 260 series from 265-6 x2 to a 268-HE with the electric over hydraulic lift. I’ve had a bunch of the 79263 snowblower attachments. Rather good lawn tractor, the hoods easily crack. They turn sharper than my Toro 5xi garden tractors.

is the torque converter came out easy or it was a pain like the two top boults on the transmission.??thank you in advance.working on one 722.9 having a hard time taking the torque out.

What if it’s only the front tire area not lifting? But all other sides lift n pump just the front driver side was losing pump n then eventually didn’t lift anymore. Could it be the bag? This happened after getting new tires

thanks - DIY guy myself - Lack of information is usually the only reason we can't fix it. I had owned a 2008 and had to replace the compressor-- dealer diagnosed. You diagnosed this one - same thing mine is doing- I'll replace it this week and let you know--Thanks again

I tried to watch your video and after the unplug everything was in fast motion with no sound. 🤔

So the back of the vehicle lowered (sagged)... Why would the compressor alone control just the rear air bags???? You would expect all corners to equally deflate. To me this sounds like dirt or something causing some abnormal readings. The next plausible issue would be the valve block. The compressor is NOT married to any one set of airbags. I would have expected a fix of air bags valve box line connections then compressor. You must have dislodged dirt and debris. Otherwise the front airbags would have been the ones to pump. (ie you even said it at ~8:40)

Nice troubleshooting

Although I watched a few other ways or methods to replace the pump, your method turned out to be the easiest. The hardest part for me was reconnecting the electrical connector, which I may should have done earlier in the process. Thanks for taking the time to post your video.

I’m frustrated with my car too, just want trade it in for another one without the stupid airmatic.
