    I "love" how every one complains about a symbol that they believe to be morally wrong, with little to no knowledge or willingness to honor our history. For instance, the Georgia state flag was changed just as this was. It previously displayed portions of the confederate battle flag. The current state flag just replaced the confederate battle flag with the actual Confederate States of America flag. Everyone quite complaining.

    • @JustLifeTravels
      @JustLifeTravels 5 днів тому

      Yeah the people who complain about the confederate flag tend to be the least educated group about American history in general and don’t really understand any of the symbolism behind anything in this country. They just see something, believe a random idea of its meaning they were told and that’s it.

    • @TonyStark-xr2om
      @TonyStark-xr2om 5 днів тому

      Well, instead of complaining, I'd like to take this chance to make it a learning moment. We can see, that if the south was uninterrupted, it's still only about as productive as an agrarian society. Don't see any slaves, though he said some were originally brought over, where are they? Looks like the south just went further south, to just die some more. Not very impressive. Looks like your typical southern town, abandoned.

    • @JustLifeTravels
      @JustLifeTravels 4 дні тому

      The fastest growing states in the USA are the south, people are fleeing New York, California and several other northern states to go to places like Florida, Texas, Tennessee, the Carolina’s. Black Americans are moving in massive numbers to the Atlanta metro. Your point about southern towns being abandoned is pretty hilarious. You are here to make irrelevant points and that’s fine feel free. Honoring peoples history is not an endorsement of their beliefs. If I visit Roman monuments that does not mean I support gladiatorial combat and by leaving up the coliseum and being against ripping it down also does not mean I endorse it.

      Cultural festivals like they hold here are common around the world, also most people living in the area are in some part black or have immigrated from Italy since the end of slavery so in Brazil i think that doesn’t exist at all.

    It's like telling Jews to have statues of Hitler in their communities because it's history.

    • @JustLifeTravels
      @JustLifeTravels 7 днів тому

      Well it’s actually not like that at all, because Hitler didn’t make Israel or anything for the Jews. The city of Americana and the surrounding area was developed by the confederados. It’s more similar to building statues to the early Portuguese settlers who came and killed many natives and established Brazil as the number one destination for African slaves outside of the Middle East. They have many statues and monuments to them in Brazil.

    Usually i would preserve dark history like the concentration camps in germany, but when you have festivals about the past, thats a different story. When i saw that these people were celebrating confederants where slavery was a good thing, everyman is not created equal, white supremacy, and no civil rights, i was at awe. Damn Brazilian Emperor Dom Pedro II. I hope one day they will shut that that dark history down for good and make it illegal to replicate anything from the confederants for these racist in the past.

    • @JustLifeTravels
      @JustLifeTravels 7 днів тому

      Well interestingly enough Brazil had far far far more slaves than the entire USA did, your argument could just as easily be applied to all of Brazilian history prior to 1888 which is a full 23 years after the USA ended it. The festival is to honor the people who established that community. We have videos in Nigeria you are free to go and watch and they have statues built for the famous slave catchers from their communities who made their cities wealthy by capturing fellow black Africans to sell into slavery to whoever would pay the highest amount.

    • @gmilkboy504
      @gmilkboy504 7 днів тому

      @JustLifeTravels My question was why are you CELEBRATING dark history where confederates thought slavery was a good thing, everyman not created equal, white supremacy, and no civil rights? You just made your argument weak trying to justify the celebration, saying brazil have a long history of slavery, confederates are honored, and some black people from Nigeria sold their own people. The confederates literally came to Brazil because slavery was not abolished so they can beat, "ape", and force people to do their bidding. It's like saying German nazis should celebrate their heritage like it's 1939-1944 before 1945, even though these people killed over 6 million jews during that time. Your the reason what's wrong with the world today with this backwords' evil thinking. I never said don't erase (cut statues down, forget about history, don't learn about civil rights and confederacy), but one thing I will not tolerate and most people would agree is the celebration of over 500 years of slavery.

    • @gmilkboy504

Also, i would never say get rid of history ( break the statue, tear the clothes, don't let it in the museum, dont teach it in history, etc), but the difference is your celebrating over 500 years of slavery like its some sort of festival in honor for the confederates which makes you a supporter of them.

    Ok... so.yes people make mistakes and can learn from them. But this isn't the same as putting a red shirt in with the white laundry. You can't fix what has been done... and you can't just throw away the mistake. Many will pretend to feel bad... so you feel better, or they feel better about themselvs for a moment. I am not condoning this or any actions like this. But there are some who just made a poor judgment in the moment and regret it for the rest of their lives. And some who only looked like they were doing something wrong and were punished as if they actually had done something wrong. My special needs friend was accused but didn't ever think of doing such things. Had swung a family member in his arms dangled low to swing between the arch made by legs. He was quite tall. Other kids at the park wanted a turn on the human swing.... they insisted. He complie. Some lady saw this and called the police saying he was being lude with children. He has been on a watch list ever since. If he had been charged, he would have nowhere to go to live... I can see the need for places that accommodate specific restrictions for induviduals, however, just like jail, the severity of what caused them to need to be there should determin there placment. Don't place towns that house people with issues next to places where those issues can spill over to the neighboring communities. Put pedos in a town surrounded by other adult oriented communities and remove internet access entierly for the area.

    • @JustLifeTravels
      @JustLifeTravels 3 дні тому

      That’s bad what happened to your friend, there needs to be sound and reasonable judgement in cases to prevent things like that and harsh punishment to deter these kinds of crimes.

    back in my country, my cousin saved a kid from falling over, I don't know why the kid lied that he assaulted her, maybe she didn't want her parents to know that she did something stupid to end up almost falling off the cliff and bang, my cousin was suddenly a pedophile. He got cleared of it when the kid finally admitted she lied after several days but our local community didn't looked at him the same way as before. Something like that doesn't go away and it's beyond terrible. So I made a decision that I wouldn't budge if I saw some kid in danger alone unless it's from my family. If something happen to them it's thier parents problem and fault, not mine. And if any of you call me bitter and scornful, know that i was made this way, not born this way.

      It’s true Jewish Americans have a deep connection to the slave trade and running slave markets in the American south. It’s how many made their fortunes

      The British Empire outlawed slavery while engaging in the opium war and the economic colonization of the world through free trade capitalism which destoryed millions of lives. Your argument is inconsistent!

    Look up Shawna from the Untouchables documentary, a compelling story. Regardless of opinions, one should strive to see both sides of an issue. I agree with your bias, but you're not going to find a fair and accurate representation of ALL registered persons by conducting an impromptu interview with men that probably haven't kept up with their therapy in years. While yes there is a small spectrum of predators that don't change, the reality is that many people on the registry do. Look up the facts from the Florida Action Committee, NARSOL, and the Untouchable documentary. Sadly the registry hasen't prevented a single offense, most offenders are people close to their victims usually a family member. Instead of obsessing over the boogy man narrative the media portrays, focus on the facts and science behind people that end up that way. There needs to be greater focus and advocacy for education, prevention and protection of victims, rather than wasting our time and taxes on a system that does not protect anyone. No this is not defending anyone who's committed these crime, but rather an attempt to share full facts to protect everyone. **This is my third post, sharing helpful information that can better protect children and all citizens.. if you're deleting this again, I respectfully conclude that you're only interested in shaming/ trolling and not finding a true solution to the problem.*

      No one has deleted your comments, UA-cam auto mods comment sections and will delete a lot of stuff including our own responses in this comment section. I think we can look at states like Louisiana and Tennessee to see a great new way forward when dealing with convicted predators of children.

      @JustLifeTravels oh thanks for clarifying! Sorry to assume that. And yes they have aggressive laws like forced vesectomies. I agree with the science behind castration.. but it should be chemical and reversible, just in case they've been wrongfully convicted. But again that's addressing the issue after it's happen. Senator Lauren Books from Florida has a great educational campaign on the subject. Though her bills are rough, and she was a victim herself she's doing an amazing job at educating children and families. Unlike her father, who lobbies for unconstitutional registry laws, she actually talks to these offenders and learns to understand them in order to inform the public. Preventing these issues when people are young as well as holding people accountable but permitting a chance for these people to earn some of their US rights back after SUBSTANTIAL verifiable rehabilitation should be the approach.

    This place is an hour from me, which is horrifying enough. I feel sorry for the sugarcane workers that aren't predators and aren't sick in the head. The sugarcane workers deserve to live and work in an area where their safety and the safety of their families is guaranteed. I don't feel sorry for the predators and never will. The sugarcane workers get unfairly punished by having to live in those conditions. The sugarcane workers and the church deserve better and the predators deserve worse.

    Saying Oduduwa was not birthed is ridiculous. The Yorubas do not know his past that is why the Benin Prince origin story is the most believable and most sensible.
