Yes, I used sandpaper, the grit is P40, which is very rough. I sprayed it with simply water to make it easy to remove from the clay. But instead of sandpaper, you can use anything else that gives a nice texture to the back side. It's just a simple idea. But you can skip the sandpaper... 😉
