Mitch, do you remember how much your thru hike cost you excluding flights/logistic costs to and from the terminuses and gear?

Lint is one of the most badass hikers in the world. Nowadays he is "cancelled" by the thru hiking community but cant cancel a triple triple crowner. Dude would sleep in a warehouse to afford a thru hike, most hipster hikers today can not compare.

Glad to know that people skip the Sierras every year and to just go through it anyway. Didnt seem as bad as when I went through the San Juans on the CDT in 2021! A lot of people hike it as their first trail so I can understand though.

i wouldn't call NM barren. It's got a ton of plant growth compared to California's deserts.

Glad you went ahead. (I know this is 2019.) Still have snow shoes? There will be snow in Montana. To miss it I think your friends must wait until sometime in July to start. When you are glisading on your butt you should hold your ice axe across your front. Then to apply brakes either roll onto stomach and dig in pick. Or as you are going along dig in your non-pick end to slow n come to a stop. Not a wise choice to glissade without use of ice axe. Tired?? You had several if not all day-adrenilin rushes.
