That's a good question because even though I don't usually do it, you can do so to prevent large holes in the bottom of your bread. You can use a timer to measure the time between when the bread machine starts and the final rise begins. However, it depends on the model you have.

Same with my parents. They didn't like the cuckoo clock going off very much either. I just wish I had a chance to see it in action before my family's house fire.

The 1975 jauch clock chimes at varying speeds when wound up. Sometimes, it's slow, while at other times, it goes fast. However, I haven't seen very many problems aside from being careful with the chime lever.

Very interesting. I've heard of clocks that have different sets of chimes and not have Westminster in them. I wish you success in purchasing that clock. And should you succeed, I look forward to seeing it.

If the clock you're talking about is a triple chime clock, then yes, you can. My grandmother and great-grandmother once told me many years ago that the quarter-hour chimes are helpful to people who are visually impaired. I set most of my clocks (not all) to Westminster because that's the easiest chime to remember. Just be sure to change the chime selection during one of the safe zones on the clock and not while the clock is chiming.

It really makes my day seeing this comment. My dream is to be a voice over artist for radio and television stations all over the country someday. I really enjoy saying the call letters and channel numbers. Plus, I'd get a thrill learning the pronunciation of towns and cities of all sizes.
