Some quick math: playstation 5 - 540$ Yearly payments: Controller - 70$ Playstation Plus - 119$ Say that you want to use your console for five years, which is less than most people want, that alone would equate to: 189 * 5 = 945 945 + 540 = 1485$ That's enough for a PC that can run any game the PS5 can run and more. If you don't care about exclusives, or the latest games, you can get away with way less. Gamepass is a really good deal, but I believe it's available for PC as well. Btw, you guessed correct, I'm german.

@@grafond2988 a lot of peripherals on pc as well. On consoles, you get one controller which is included in price. The deals for consoles also exist. And preowned games are a thing, for example last year I bought spiderman 2 for my sister, on fb marketplace, 2 days after release for 50e

It certainly got better, but it still happens. And there's also the triggers, which break even in the newest models.

I've owned multiple X Box controllers and their bumpers seem to break a ton, but I also haven't experienced stick drift on any of them, although there are quite a few people on the internet claiming they have it. Thing is, I do feel like controllers are getting worse. A console will force you to always use the newest faulty controller, while on PC, you will always be able to use an old one that actually works. I also prefer controller. I just want to be able to choose.

Yes it's a new issue. I also never experienced any problems with the dualshock 4.

And this is not including stuff like games, which are also more expensive on console. Or the fact that you might want more than one working controller for multiplayer stuff.

@@grafond2988 First of many people have macbooks/laptops for that "other non-gaming stuff". And NO pc is gonna last 5 years with the same performance, I owned a PC and I'm talking from experience. Consoles on the other hand have way better life performance. I don't think you even believe this yourself just making a clickbait video 😂

Building a PC equivalent of the mobile hardware that's on a console doesn't cost 2000 bucks. A top end AM5 with 4090 will cost you two or three grand, but not something on the lower end with console specs. You don't need a top end system to run most games maxed out unless your running something like a Pimax crystal HMD where you need all the VRAM you can get. But his stick drift argument though is non-sense. Even on PC your gonna have stick drift (if your using any inputs that use Hell effect/rotary encoders etc). Index/quest pro controllers and a lot of flight sticks are notorious for it, you can compensate with constant recalibration but you will still have it regardless.

@@markoilic7993 I think I might have worded that poorly, I meant that games cost more on PC, I was not referring to 'non gaming stuff'. What kind of PC did you buy? My PC literally worked fine for like 7 years? I could even play new games like red dead. And it really wasn't all that expensive. It was like 1k.

@@nikushim6665 There are still controllers on the market that don't (or very rarely) experience stick drift. On PC you have the choice, on console you don't.

Would you call a Steam Deck a console? I have one too and I always thought of it as more of like a miniature PC.

key word "if you intend", if you don't then it doesn't prove anything that PC > console.

@@kuboliznapolska7949 No of course not. PC prices having gone up so much means that the console is quite good value at launch. PC's are far more powerful especially when they leap ahead a generation or even two through the life of the console but at release a console is like getting mid tier PC power at a budget price. And obviously their operating and control system is a lot simpler which is what a lot of console users prefer. But yeah as soon as you've bought 20 games that price gap has closed. I buy 100's of games so the PC is an absolute no brainer.

I play my Series X way more and I really want to sell my PS5 to put towards a PC but I feel like I’ll regret it even though I’m not playing it lol

@@TheJustinboodram You can always buy another ps5 IF you regret afterwards. Ps5 pro is coming anyway, so buying a ps5 will be cheaper next year.

Steam deck is amazing, I don't think I'd consider it a console tho. And I don't think it's about using or not using a controller, It's more about the fact that controllers have gotten worse and consoles always force you to use the newest ones. If I want to, I can just use my old reliable switch pro controller on PC, while on PS5, if I want to play any of the newer titles I have to use a dualsense.

I've had my xbox and playstation controllers for years and have not had stick drift idk maybe Im just lucky I guess

@@beartackle I'll be honest too, most of Sonys exclusives are coming or on PC now. So the "Sony/Xbox Exclusive thing really isn't a thing with PCs now" other then you may have to wait a year after the consoles get it... but your then most likely playing a superior version with even newer tech". PC is a GREAT system that does just about everything, but many people don't want to fiddle with things, or mess around to get it to have a console experience.. You would be shocked how little people who play games like fifa want anything to do with the tech side of it. Most people when controllers break will just go buy another one & will look on ebay for some deals. 98% of people are not going to repair there controller sticks unless it is like a steam deck and there just swap and play "even then most casuals are not taking apart there $400 handheld" they will send it back to valve for repair. Edit: with PC getting that console experience is not easy yet, you have Steam Big Picture or EmuDeck for more of a retro game experience. But still involve going through setup and settings most casual game players would just have no clue.

What I dislike most about consoles is that you often lose your (very expensive) games once a new generation comes, for example all PS3 games were permanently lost for the people who bought them and sold their PS3. You also have to pay for online services, and Sony or Microsoft can delete your account if you say wrong political stuff on their consoles, while Valve has never done that on Steam. I feel comfortable buying games on Steam, because I know my account is safe and I will never lose my games. Consoles are also overpriced, considering they only offer fake 4K and mostly 30 FPS. A $700 PC will beat both consoles and it also offers better controls and 100x more games.
