My Pi 5 has active cooling and its using 100% of all cores when transcribing. I wonder if your cpu is throttled due to high temps since you are just raw-dogging that thing without even a heatsink.

New subscriber. Thank you / overturning a bit of bad info STILL on the internet. The cable Ladyada referenced is out-of-stock but her video teaches you to check for “alternate lengths”! I’ve found a local hobby shop to be a source of small JST connectors as these are used in RC model Lipo charging. Don’t know if they’ll have 3-pin 1mm but will check soon.

Dumb question: theoretically it is possible to connect something like a GPS on ttyAMA10 while something else is connected on ttyAMA0?

I have been trying to get a console in the gpio uart but couldn't. Here is why: According to documentation I need to add dtparam=uart0_console=on to enable it. This make /dev/serial0 points to /dev/ttyAMA0 which is I believe what the rpi4 does.

Just get a local speech to text model, it will be much simpler and be faster if you've got a decent GPU. Bind it to a hotkey or something, why would you go through all this trouble just to get speech to text? If you want it to be a box you can carry around just get it into a raspberry pi. But seriously though this is way too much trouble for a simple functionality

Finally. pi 5 uses gpiochip4 and my pi3 uses gpiochip0. I do not mind the horrible quality video/physical screen recording because you supplied the code. There is much less help for C/C++. Thanks. Note: I had a problem with lgpio library. My 5->3.3 input voltage dividers were not working because the input pins were drawing 0.3 amps! I assume the input impedance is configurable now. You would think that requesting a line to be type input would default to a high impedance.................

This is exactly what I was looking for. I ordered some TB6600 drivers for a desktop plasma cutter I'm building from scratch. I've never built a CNC table or wired one before, but I think I can handle it. I'm going to use x y and z running Nima 17 motors. I suppose they don't really need external drivers but I didn't know any better and ordered them anyway. I also ordered an external 5 volt power supply and a 24-volt power supply. Looking to run grbl on it. If you have any advice for me It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Subscribed and saved this video.
