Chuck and MuYi on the Road
Приєднався 9 лип 2006
MuYi and I are retired from the U.S. Postal Service and I enjoy documenting our hikes and vacations with short videos. We hope you'll enjoy them when I post them and maybe get some useful information out of them. This is done strictly for fun and my own entertainment (and hopefully yours as well).
Sampan Boat Ride Cinematic || Mekong Delta Sampan || Mekong Delta Boat Ride
A ride in a traditional sampan on Thoi Son Isle in the Mekong River Delta near My Tho, Vietnam. Still very much a part of Vietnamese culture (mainly in rural areas) and in other parts of Southeast Asia. They are used primarily for transportation and fishing in rivers and coastal waters but are not made to handle rough waters. People using them normally will stick close to land for this reason.

Exploring Vinh Trang Pagoda: A Tranquil Walking Tour In My Tho, Vietnam
Переглядів 15821 день тому
A short walk around at Vinh Trang Pagoda (Vĩnh Tràng Temple) in My Tho of the Nakong Deltra Region in southern Vietnam. The temple stands on about 5 acres in the village of Mỹ Hóa. The temple grounds also has ornate gardens and several fruit trees that are tended to by local monks. Building the Vinh Trang Temple initially began in the early 1800's and was completed by 1850. However a lot of dam...

Video of our visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We visited this historically preserved tourist attraction on November 16, 2023 and it was above 90 degrees F and very humid. But it was educational to see up close how the Viet Cong "tunnel rats" dealt with guerilla warfare conditions (and how the courageous American soldiers dealt with it as well) during the war years. Amon...

A small distraction at Providence Canyon State Park (Lumpkin, GA) that tested my fear of heights. I failed and didn't even give it a try! So dissapointed in myself. We encounted this fallen tree along the Back Country Loop Trail which is about 6.5 miles in length. The canyon itself is a wonderful area for photographers and one of the most beautiful areas we've seen. Video provided by: The Trail...
Exploring The Vibrant Beauty Of Providence Canyon State Park

In May of 2020 we did a Providence Canyon day trip from Dalton, Georgia along with the Muffin Man and the Trail Master. We hiked all three trails which covered about 11 miles total and saw some superb picturesque scenery. Though climbing the canyon walls isn't allowed we were allowed access to certain high areas along the canyon floor. It was a beautiful day and though it was the longest day tr...

The Best Breakfast Spot In Meinong You Must Try!
Very cool video. Thanks for sharing. What a great way to experience the local culture.
Thank you for the compliment! It was actually pretty dang cool. Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the landscape and architecture of the buildings.
Me too. Most all of the Buddhist temples I've seen have amazing architecture and are so beautiful. Thank you for watching!
Very beautiful and peaceful.
Are those real
I think they are mostly real. A few of them had real spikes in them but others didn't.
Hehe cu chi tunnels
Have you been there?
One the very few people i ever missed that worked at the P.O.
He was a good dude to be around.
Most people these days don't realize what others have suffered through. Interesting video 😊.
Shannonurban1513, I highly reccommend the Ken Burns Vietnam documentary if you haven't seen it. Thank you for watching as always!
No way could I squeeze into that tiny little hole in the ground. Nor would I try. A friend of ours was a tunnel rat in Vietnam. He wouldn't talk about it much.
One of my former co-workers and friends at the PO was a Vietnam vet. He was exposed to agent orange unfortunately and was convinced the health problems he suffered from later in life were the result of his having been exposed. Thank you for watching!
those booby traps will give me nightmares. and the tunnels. Y'all are very brave. Nicely done on the video
Thank you, TeresaSweetteaCoggins! Yeah, those boobytraps are nightmarish!
Question is did you hit the target?
I'm positive I did. I have pretty good aim. :) Thanks for watching, TeaDrinkingDaddy!
This must be a very relaxing, peaceful place to walk. The scenery is beautiful and seeing the nature is awesome.
It is and there are bike paths along each side for miles. They have become overgrown in places since I began walking along those paths several years ago. I wish they were maintained better. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.
Sorry.....that is not worth the risk of injury!
It wasn't for me either! lol! It was about a 10-12 foot drop from that tree and I could EASILY see myself breaking an ankle if/when I lost my balance. Thank you for watching!
You're way to close....
NO KIDDING! lol!
You did good. Jeff falling proved the point of not climbing canyon walls.
*LOL!* We took a lot of video that day between the two of us plus Jeff and Thomas. I'll post a few shorts from this hike too. It was a lot of fun! Thank you so much for watching!
Who is that guy gracefully body surfing down the slope..?
@@TeaDrinkingDaddy, that was our tour guide.
i never mixed the ingredients up before having it. i'd spoon-dig the ice from the edge, like treasure hunting, enjoying it bit-by-bit and mining all the way thru the whole plate. shaved ice rules!
I love this style of shaved ice. We were in Taiwan for 3 months and we went to this place 3 or 4 times while in Meinong. We will go there again when we return. Thank you so much for watching!
90% of the population wow.
Yeah, the caveat being that part of that population would require taking a bus ride from one of the stations. But the vast majority of Taiwanese people live along the west coast and also the top and bottom part of the island. The eastern coast is dominated by mountains and so much of that is uninhabitable. Thank you for watching as always, @TeaDrinkingDaddy!
Guy in the red shirt watching you.
I did notice that! 😎
On the cheap😀NO PORK INTESTINES.
😅 I find myself craving some pork intestines and Korean kimchi! Thank you as always for watching!
looks like a drill press turned into a shaver.
I hadn’t thought of that but you’re right. Thanks for watching!
I can definitely relate to train and bus travel making life easier compared to driving when we are traveling Europe (something America could improve on 😉). I have not yet had the experience of riding a speed train. Looking forward to it one day 😊.
You'd love it! It's so much more comfortable than riding in coach on a passenger jet. Plenty of leg room, convenient restrooms, and such a smooth quiet ride. Thank you for watching, @shannonurban1513!
That's a very interesting sweet treat. It's very cool to see an old style treat still keeping a trend to the culture.
It really is. Taiwan desserts aren't as sweet as what we are used to here but it's still sweet enough. And he serves up plenty to help beat the heat!

Nice atmosphere. Thank you for sharing
Thank you! If you visit Taiwan or China you won’t have a hard time finding these places. They’re an integral part of the culture. I appreciate you watching!
Food looks really delicious here, great upload.
I love the food now. My first few times there though it was hard for me to get used to. It's a beautiful culture though. Thank you for watching, @ervinslens!
Welcome to Meinong. I am a local.
That video was from our visit last November. We will return to Meinong later this year. Meinong is my wife’s home.
@@postal002 Welcome back to Tranquility and simplicity of Meinong!
@@urbensung2180, I’m already excited to return!
That actually looks really good, making me hungry. Can't wait to visit Taiwan.
I think you’ll love it when you get to take a trip there. Thanks for watching!
Some might say it's a breakfast of champions 😊 💪🏻
YES! Some might say that! Thank you for watching!
It's so cool to see the difference in culture 😊.
A very cool experience to have (as you well know). Thank you for watching!
This looks and sounds so soothing, lovely episode.
Coming from someone who makes such wonderful videos as you that’s a great compliment. Thank you, sir!
Wow! Very beautiful trail and nature scenery. I agree with you on the calming sound of water rushing down over the rocks, very relaxing and serene. By the way, great job on narrating 😉👍
Thanks, @djdan-jc8lx! I especially appreciate the comment about my narration. That's something I'm never satisfied with so I'll gladly take any compliments about my narration!
Love everything about it. The decor of the coffee shop, the waitress uniform, and the atmosphere. Has a feel of a close community just enjoying a good cup of joe. Would love to taste the coffee, especially the iced with coconut, that sounds really good. Thank you for sharing and inspiring me to visit Vietnam.
It does have a very relaxing atmosphere. The servers’ uniforms stood out and we both really enjoyed it. We had very good Java every day while there (it’s really a part of their culture). Hopefully you can experience this beautiful country one day soon.
Went through Blairsville many times and never knew there is a hike with a viewing tower. Looks really nice and the views are amazing. Definitely have to visit. Thanks for sharing.
Honestly I didn’t know either. I’ve heard of Brasstown Bald for many years but didn’t know about the tower. The views are amazing! Thank you for watching!
this may be my favorite video. We really enjoy Blairsville and some of the scenes were familiar. Thanks for sharing
I’m certainly glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
FAT MAN DOWN. Did the squirrel show you where he spent the night on Blood Mtn? very nice video Chuck!
He did! He's always fun to go on these hikes with. Hopefully you'll join next time. Thank you for watching!
Adding to my bucket list of hikes 😊. Nice footage.
Thank you! Yes, you should definitely visit when you have a chance. It's not far away and none of the hikes are very long.
Beautiful trail. It looks like a fun hike.
It was especially needed back in 2020 with all the Covid madness.
And we think traffic is Atlanta is bad!
Atlanta is pretty bad but not sure if I could handle this. 😅
Full video excellent Like 🌷💕🌷💕🌿🍂
Thank you for the compliment and for watching!
Lovely shots, place looks so vivid and gorgeous.
We did see much beaity in Vietnam and are probably returning later this year for another visit. Thank you for the compliment, ervinslens.
That trail looks, by far, more difficult than I could ever complete. And I have done some difficult trails a few times. Props to you all. The scenery looks stunning. Great video.
Thank you very much! You will get there, @shannonurban1513
Absolutely gorgeous ambience my friend, place is stunning! 👏👏
Thank you very much for watching and for the feedback! It is a very scenic area.
Breathtaking nature my friend! This looks amazing!
This is just a short clip but I’m putting together another video of this trail. There is a lot of beauty in this area. Thank you for watching!
Another nice hiking video. I have never been to Lula lake falls, but I've heard a lot about it. Absolutely beautiful.
If you get the chance you should visit there (preferably during rainy season). It is truly incredible.
Beautiful waterfalls, definitely looked like steep hike back up, but in the end it's all worth it. Thank you for sharing your experience.
It was a steep climb and there is no trail going down to the bottom. So we just had to find a path down and back up. Thanks for watching!
Wow! Very nice footage of the trail and waterfalls. Loved watching 😊.
I'm very happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching because I enjoyed making this video.
Very nice. I have hiked a couple of trails at Cohutta Wilderness and got lost once for a minute or two. Ran into a bear camping. This definitely takes me back. Video coverage made me feel the trail. Loved the waterfall views. Thanks for posting
Wow! Thank you so much for that compliment, @TeresaSweetteaCoggins! It wasn't the easiest hike but the fall colors were really showing and the water levels were nice and helped make for a nice video.
Loved the Newman voice over. I do not miss 2020!!
Thank you, Trailmaster!
Everyone, please give me one chance to sign
Thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed the video!
Your video editing skills are coming along nicely.
Thanks! I'm certainly enjoying making these videos of our hikes.
Very nice! I really enjoyed the video and seeing the beautiful pictures. I will be adding this trail to my bucket list. Thank you for sharing.
It really is a nice place and it's surprising that I didn't know anything about it. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
