Is it harder to learn the jinghu or the erhu?
Grazie dall'italia❤
You are god sent
Do you still need assistance?
To clarify, those are the D string (Re) and A string (La). He says Do and Sol to specify in a more clear matter the five note gap between the two.
I just received a student erhu. I fell in love with listening to the instrument, and have always wanted to learn a string instrument. I decided I would go for it. These were all my early mistakes when first practicing. Thankfully, I've got these somewhat sorted, though I still need more work with speed and pressure. Practice makes perfect. I'll check out the rest of your videos. This one was very helpful!
Thanks for sharing. It’s hard to find anyone who will teach this amazing instrument.
Thank you sooooo much
Is a cheap or beginner Erhu playable?
That was really helpful, thank you
Can you tell us more about the hair on the bow. Shouldn't the horsehair lay nice and flat across? I suspect one of my many problems is that the bow hair doesn't lay flat (more of a clump). As I play the G string it also touches the D string if I don't position the bow angle just right. If so, any possibility of correcting beside replacing it?
Great lessons, but I've got an advice for you... how to hold your Phone, when recording! "Landscape or: horizontal, please :-)
That is amazing. Shifting and putting the fingers on exactly the right spot will definitely depend on the person's own ability to get it right. Otherwise, the wheels could definitely all come off. Sure, somebody have the correct pitch in the mind. But physically putting the finger is the spot, especially for a shift, that definitely takes something special.
That's for left handed player.
thanks
Greetings teacher, when does one finish playing the Erhu! You have to loosen your strings.

My sound is so scratchy and it’s making me frustrated so these tips are really good. I just got my Erhu a few days ago and trying to learn as a beginner so your vids are helpful!
Why do we shift to a different position on the inner and outter string? Wouldent it be easier to shift on the outter string the same way that we do on the outter to cover a wider variety of notes with the two positions? because now it seems like inner string shifting is more efficient space-wise than the outter string shifting
Thank you so much for these videos
What determines when a player switches from 1st position to second or third position.
I was wondering how much of what you are teaching for the Erhu is translatable to the Korean Haegeum?
Hi this is my first time, can't seem to make a sound on my erhu how do you tune erhu, fingering or notes do you have a book that I can purchase to start learning.
Oh, that helped a lot. I've switched over from cello to because erhu would be easier to carry around. I didn't realise bowing speed could make such a big difference. Thank you.
Wow, you are so pro. Please keep making videos!
When use the bow do you also bow both the string? As you hold the string?
I'll have to start lessons next year, so I'll have to start as a beginner how do I back to this video
Thank you!!!
Really helpful tysm!
scratchy sound isn't my problem. when i press my D string to play E and above notes on D string it sounds rubbery unlike my notes on A string
@Christine Brown yes i judge it by ear But yes it might be just i lack experiences on the erhu so I'll continue practicing the fundamentals, thank you.
I've had an Erhu for four days now and played it every day. I find I can get a clear tone on the inner string, but I really struggle on the outer string. Especially on the higher notes. I get lots of scratches and harmonics, and I find it difficult to play the outer string with a lot of strength and volume. Any tips on how to improve? Thanks. :D
Hello I just started playing the Erhu, and I'm getting a very dissonant sound (as if the string is playing two semi-tones at once). This is only on the open A string, not D. What do you think might be causing this?
Same but it's not on my open a, it's when I pay the a an octave above the a string
Hi, do you give online lessons?
Hi Li! You seem to teach Erhu really well. Do you give online lessons 1on1? I'm based in São Paulo. :)
Hi, thanks for your valuable tips! My question is, what do I do wrong on producing scratchy sound when I played on an open d string, on the way back moving the bow, I mean when I move my right arm back to my body? On the open a string it sounds clearer when I practice the bowing. I rosin the bow a lot. Thanks in advance!
Just curious, for music sheet, C = Do, D= Re, E= Mi etc..., why for Erhu D = Do? Is it due to the Pentatonic scale? I heard that Chinese musical instruments is based on musical scale with five notes per octave. I am going to learn the Erhu.
Hey I start to make the d string sounds wenn I bow it to the left... thanks
Brilliant, thank you. I will practice long bowing every day now until the screch has gone.
Are Chinese left and right hand reversed? He is saying to use the left hand while using his right.
hi thank you for your videos, they're very helpful. I would like to ask when I bow the erhu, I noticed there's white powder fall on the soundbox, is this normal?
Very good.! 八旬老人学二胡。2022年1月31日。

Straight and clear practical explanation thanks
Love the sound thanks for the tips! Years ago I started to learn on my own w/ no success, nie I‘m putting an effort to it again since I bought a new bow…
Thank you very much for your advice❤
