Tech I Love On Motorcycles

Going over the 3 Technologies I actually like to have on a motorcycle. I actually gained an appreciation for the Tire Monitoring system on the Indian Roadmaster and the radio. The Cruise control I've always liked.
Something All Motorcycle Riders Can Agree On?

Can Am's are still cool machines, but they're not a motorcycle! I don't care if you own a Harley, an Indian, a Honda or even a CF Moto...we can all agree a can am spyder is not a motorcycle.

Just had a great ride on the Harley Davidson Sport Glide. It's been a minute since I've ridden it and I started to forget how great being in the open air is... I'm going to make it a point to be in the open air at least every other week!

Trading My Harley Davidson for an Indian?!?!

Well I did it. I traded my 2016 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited for a 2017 Indian Roadmaster. Is this the right decision? Why I Picked The 2016 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited
Was looking at Indian a month ago. Floor manager said he has so many Harley’s that have been traded in for new Indians he’s had to put some in storage.
Good job.
Thanks!!!
You're not the only one this has happened to. I have seen others on UA-cam whose bags have come off even though they thought they had them on correctly. Amazing repair job by the way.
Thanks!!! Although I'm 99% sure I didn't put it on right as this was a day I actually checked my air pressure...thats what I get for trying to do things right...🤣🤣🤣
Your instincts on the repair were impressive. The primary difference between your work and that of a professional lies in the preparation-more sanding steps are essential for leveling the finish. We utilize a specialized plastic filler that cures under light to effectively fill in gaps, along with a textured paint that matches the color accurately and eliminates paint runs. For a DIY project in a garage, where you're also saving a substantial amount of money, you absolutely nailed it! Excellent job! Of course at HD we would just replace the cover😅
Awesome! Thanks! I did use 4 different levels of sandpaper, but I'm impatient...haha. I would normally just have replaced them, but they are currently on back order here. I think it looks OK and only people that notice they're different sizes would notice they're different colour...🤣🤣
I was ready with my comment. I will watch the video first and edit . I do tease the guys at Tim Hortons on Saturdays about still having their badges on, I get the impression they don't know what I am referencing. They may also think the world is flat. Southern Alberta is an odd place. The group of people I see at Tim Hortons are actually pretty interesting. Not typical Albertans. They are nudists and swingers. We all don't fit in for the right reasons. Edit, do you know why it came off? Looks good.
Haha...thanks! Almost everyone I talk to has no idea about any of the stuff, which I kinda envy to be honest. Ride what you like and have a blast doing it! Ride safe
Just purchased ultra limited 2012. Low mileage. Great motorcycle. I've had two street glides. Ultra the best way to go. Humble opinion. True touring bike.
Yes, the ultra makes a lot of sense. I actually picked up a '16 ultra with low mileage and then traded that 2 months later for an Indian '17 roadmaster. Similar bikes, just the roadmaster was a better bike and a great deal.
I ride a Sportster and been waving at the spandex cyclists LOL
Haha... they're everywhere where I live
why do you want your rear be stiffer mate? cheers and great vid btw thanks!
Because we tend to be on the heavier side...haha
Is this true?
I like the ABS but not for adventure bikes off-road. I could leave or take the audio systems. But you know what I really like? Cruise Control for street!
I haven't done much off-road riding, but I understand that most riders want the ability to lock up the rear tire while off road. And yes, cruise control is a great relief for the forearm!
Linked Braking is what you are talking about. It was part of the RDRS package Harley came out with. I saw the F9 video and ABS was just a single part of it. I wonder if he would have the same results stopping in the middle of a curve or if there was bumps in the road. Harley specifically, that linked braking also works in corners and is tilt-specific, with an extra hill hold control. Being in Colorado, I find that extremely helpful because mountain riding is all about being prepared. A sportbike suddenly in your lane because they want to drive like they are on a race track, a random gravel patch in the road, or an icy spot - I can't always prepare for things like that miles ahead. so RDRS is a great insurance. Radio is a must for me. I take long rides (1734 km) at least twice a year to visit family, and being in a group of 4-7 riders, radio (or comms) greatly helps with talking to a group or keeping my mind focused. If you get that one just that likes to talk you can always click over to Sirius TPMS is a huge thing and honestly, it's just one less thing I have to worry about. We tend to use nitrogen in the tires since the weather changes 30+ degrees in a day (26 - 6 c) overnight. GPS for me - I always know where I am going, but knowing about objects in the road, weather, traffic, and police ahead is very useful to know beforehand. So of course I agree with all of yours.. Except a Faring you are a mad man for that take Everybike I have has a fairing getting beat up for 16 hours by a 80 mph wind.. and Bugs.. no sir! ML&R stay safe!
Great list! I think because I'm typically a rear brake first rider (bad habit, I know), I couldn't seem to get used to the front brake being applied at the same time. Made for some perking stops...haha. I could see the benefit of it in emergency braking, though. I've only tried a communication system a couple of times but only for me and passenger. That could be a good safety feature in a group ride. I've never thought about nitrogen for the bike, makes sense since I have it in both my cars because we do get weather similar to yours. Ride safe!
Hi. Thanks for sharing. I'm using a t8 for my toaster and it doesn't open. So frustrating.
It is. I guess they really don't want us trying to fix these things!
I will continue to ride my Harley-Davidsons and my Honda Goldwing, go to the dealership and buy what I want. All that other stuff I’ll leave it to you to worry about.
Can't go wrong with a Honda Goldwing!
You are hilarious! I’m subscribing fer sher. So, HD has been making trikes since the early 1930’s. So, Servi car is cool. AND, you don’ t have to be handicapped or old to ride one…..you just have to carry the beer. When did the “ wave” become such an issue? I don’t wave at people in automobiles! And…..CanAm spiders? What’s that?😂😂😂
I'm waving at anyone with beer!!! I don't care what you're riding/driving, you got beer, you're good in my books!!!
@@streetsean my brother!
Can-am spider is a Texas snow mobile.
Haha...a few buddies call them that here too!
The only thing that motorcycle riders can agree on is that they ride motorcycles. That's it, that's all, that's the limit. There are legit patched organizations that only allow motorcycles that actually do accept Can Am riders. Why seek something else that they (we) all agree on when the group of people that ride is so diverse? Honestly, "motorcycle riders" is not a community, it's not a culture, it's a statistic used by things like insurance companies. Here in Florida a Can Am is registered as a motorcycle and requires a motorcycle license. People all over the forums debate whether or not they are motorcycles, so how can you say "we" all agree on it? Again, the only thing all motorcycle riders agree on is that they ride motorcycles. When you say "all" the conversation necessarily stops there. Can-Am is a Canadian subsidiary of Bombardier Recreational Products. Can stands for Canadian. They are also registered as motorcycles in Canada. What do I think of Can Am? They are trikes, trikes are three wheeled motorcycles. A Slingshot is classified as an autocycle in Florida, and you can drive one without a motorcycle license, meaning just a regular driver's license. One has handlebars and you sit on it. The other has a steering wheel and you sit inside it. I don't think that whether or not someone rides a motorcycle will predict whether they agree with me on anything at all. There are subgroups of riders that I will agree with a great deal. I would also trust them with my life, my wife, my children, and my bike.
Yes, you are most likely right about that. So many walks of life that ride motorcycles. As long as you're riding you are OK in my books.
You dentist is one. I wave at everyone on everything. The slingshots are not bikes. The can am you still sit like a motorcycle at least.
I wave at everyone too, just bugs me when I watch my neighbour put his can/am in reverse and back it up his driveway...
@@streetsean lol
I've been looking at used pan America's the price drops quite a bit I'm seeing nice low mileage models for 18,000 Canadian for the special. Don't know if I would spend that much on a CVO considering in 2 years it'll be worth half its value.
I have noticed at the used bike place I bought one of my bikes has a couple, and you're right, they seem to all be low mileage and in that 18-19k range. I think they are really fun bikes but not the type of riding I would do 90% of the time...need to convince my wife I need 3 bikes...
I give two fingers to everyone on two wheels.. period! ( even scooters) Except for Canadians! ;)
🤣🤣🤣 Always stay consistent!!!
I think we are all assholes 😆
I can neither confirm or deny....but maybe...🤣🤣🤣
2 Lane back road, OK to wave. Divided highway, NO wave. Busy street in town, NO wave. Kids in back of car, OK to wave.
These are great parameters!!!
I agree and ride myself. But at the same time, as long as they are riding then cool. I guess some people are just afraid of two wheels, even though they have one wheel skateboard things....
Where I live it's a different license, but they usually do the courses at the same time, so maybe your right about being afraid of two wheels.
@@streetsean yeah man, Send me some coffee crisps, smarties and Alexander Keef's! Lol

Harley or Indian. My number one would be that ugly TV screen on these modern bikes. 🤮
I like new tech stuff, but after a ride or two, I forget it's even there.
Back in 1992 I was on a 160 mile trip on my 1982 Suzuki GS650L, and didn't realize that my range was only about 100 miles before needing to switch to reserve. I was climbing a miles long hill in the Appalachians on an expressway when by engine cut out. I didn't switch to reserve until I was stopped, and the bike just would not start. Hundreds of cars passed me, but until a biker on a Harley stopped, no one checked on me. Soon after he stopped, the bike finally fired up and he had me follow him to the nearest gas station. So there is my story about whether Harley Riders are assholes, they might be, but they will also help a fellow rider in trouble. P.S. I have been a Harley rider helping other riders for the past 15 years.
That is awesome! I've tried to stop a few times for other riders but I always get the OK thumbs up sign. I do think most riders just view motorcycles as a community, regardless of brand.
I am OK with the Can-Am Spyders. The rider is in a typical motorcycle position. But the Slingshot is NOT a motorcycle.
It does bug me that my neighbour throws his in reverse and backs it up his driveway!!! But I think the goldwing may have a reverse on it as well.
Personally speaking... I was an a$$hole long before I owned my first Harley. 🤣
You and me both...🤣🤣👍👍👍
I don't agree. I do not and will not waive at slingshots. EVER. But Can-Ams are just trikes with the wheel setup differently. Some states still require riders to take a course to legally operate a trike. To each their own. I have no expectations for anyone regarding what they ride as they age. Getting a lighter, smaller bike also means potentially much less riding comfort. I will always initiate and waive back to any rider on two or three wheels.
Yeah, I wave back to everyone and usually initiate the wave. There's just something about those can/ams, though....I will have back, but I just won't initiate it. Here, there is a different license for the 3 wheels. Ride safe
Sorry Sean, this comment is long. Totally agree about the spiders. Those types of 3 wheelers and some if the 4 wheelers thatl require a helmet are stupid. Just get a cool convertible and no need for helmet. As for the people with mobile issues or strength issues due to age, don't give up or give in. If you can get on and off a bar stool, you manage 2 wheels. Nothing wrong with getting a lighter bike. My GXSR weighs 400lbs and I can spin it around on the kickstand. I am not saying to get a crotch rocket, but much lighter bikes exist. We all plan to ride forever, but gravity effects us all eventually. Be ok with a downsizing. If it keeps you on 2 wheels longer, awesome. If you ride with a group and a long trip is coming up, back your bike on a trailer and ride at your destinations. Your group will likely appreciate a support vehicle on the trip. You are still a biker, just pulling double duty for your group. Men, please get your hormones checked after 40 and every year after, muscle retention and growth are deeply affected by low testosterone and nobody will talk about it, not even your doctor. Low T effects lots of systems in your body, depression is also affected. Big rant, I really need to work again. Car accident last year, not my fault, waiting for surgery on my right arm. I still have use of my thumb and index finger on my right hand. I still ride and make it work. I am still on 2 wheels.
Who are we to tell, suggest, recommend, or expect someone to downsize their ride to a lighter and typically way less comfortable version just because they age? If they choose to transition to a three-wheeler that's their choice. Does it impact me? Absolutely not. Don't forget some (if not many) of these older riders have WAY MORE miles and riding experience than you or I have. And for some of them, this is a bucket-list thing they're finally able to do. Suggest someone stop their long-distance traveling routine for towing a lighter bike...? Why? To each their own. Ride safe and keep it shiny side up
@TobyNorthEN I didn't tell anyone not to ride a trike. I spoke about options other than a trike. I have been riding for over 35 years, all different types of bikes and brands. I ride every day, including rainy days and snowy days. Some people who have only had 1 type of bike or size may not think about other options out there. I feel you are incredibly closed-minded for 2 reasons, you didn't actually read my comment before responding and you think someones age is relevant to experience or physicalability. The owner of the channel isn't a 20 year old, but he is new to riding and may have less miles under him than a 20 year old.
@@austingrrr5191 Your feeling is incredibly mistaken. I read your entire post before commenting. I'm going solely off of the words you typed. For example: "Be ok with downsizing." You suggest I "...think someone's age is relevant to experience or physical ability." But you even typed, "...but gravity affects us all eventually." This suggests our age affects physical ability. I'm only going off of what I read in your comments. If I misunderstand you, it is my mistake. I may not be the only one to misunderstand your intent. Lastly, I hope you recover quickly from surgery. I was in a shoulder brace and then a cast in 2018 after a motorcycle accident. Time and patience were challenging. Sticking to rehab is what helped me heal smoothly.
@TobyNorthEN People need to be ok about riding a different bike if their body starts give them issues. Age related or other. Stating that gravity affects us all is the same as saying, we are all headed in the same direction, some get there faster than others. If someone can't ride 2 days straight to the coast, they can trailer their bike there. They can problymanage day trips with lots of stops for food and interesting things to see. The coast is where they want to ride, not some boring highway. Why let ego get in the way if riding the coast. I thought my comments were pretty clear. Don't get stuck on one way and then give up if that one way doesn't work anymore. Step throughs have gain huge popularity in most parts of the world and yet in north America, the thought is only on a trike. Think outside the box the trike comes in. Something tells me you are a Harley guy who will never see anything but....
@TobyNorthEN BTW, I am ok to be wrong about you being a typical Harley guy. I am waiting on surgery for my deep common extensor tendon, radial collateral ligament, some sort of damage to my medial nerve and ulnar nerve entrapment. Haven't worked for year. Very bored. I miss my clients and work as a massage therapist. I want to move to Spain when it's all done. Collect my settlement, sell the house and break the news to my dog that he needs to get balls otherwise located. Nothing I say on UA-cam that wouldn't say in person. You can't always grasp a person's tone or inflection. Nothing is said to be mean. Except when I talk about my mother, she's a handful and often runs a muck. She will and has taken cars, trucks and bikes of mine out, without my knowledge. No fear and no license.
i agree 👍😎
Nice!👍👍
Doubt if those jap bike manufacturers have DEI obsessed pedo degenerates CEOs running their company 😂😂😂
Harley riders are aging and youger riders dont want them. With these markups some will buy but a lot will say ive had enough. This strategy of selling way above MSRP will work for short time but in the long run Harley will fade away. Just look around there are plenty of used bikes at much better prices.
I don't know if Harley will fade away, but if they don't change course, they may. Whenever I'm out for a ride, I'd say 70% of all bikes are Harleys that I see. Having said that, out of all the bikes I've seen this year, I'd say only a handful or so are '24 Harley models.
Agree on all three complaints.
👍👍👍
Who me !?! Ha ha ha 😂
🤣🤣🤣 We're in this together!!!🤣
the people that say we are a-holes are just jealous
I sometimes wonder if people might just not interact with Harley riders as they are usually in a group so they just assume...
Ride a crotch rocket around for a day and you’ll see they don’t wave back ✌🏻 I wave to anything on two or three wheels
I wave to everyone, except can/am's, well, unless they wave first....
I dont know about harley riders...but....i ride a 99 kawi nomad and im a bit of an asshole 😊
You sound like my kind of people!!!🤣
"Get a Real Bike". Rode on a mission with the Patriot Riders for funeral escort. I was the only sport bike rider there. Had my flag properly mounted to the bike and since my flag was the largest, I was to lead the procession. I'm in my 50s with my veteran license plate and no one spoke to me. Which is fine, I was there for the family but the hostility was evident.
I just don't get that, even at something like that...thats awful. I like sport bikes but I'm not ashamed to say that they scare me, or rather I'm scared of how I'd ride it.... Ride safe and enjoy!
The only A-holes I've run into on Harley's are the one's that work desk jobs and Pose as hard core bikers. They're easy to spot, with their brand new leathers & finger-less gloves. Or the way they drive.
The way they drag their feet from a stop.......
That's not bad if you're able to spot them so you know to avoid them. Now I'm wondering I that's why I haven't met any is people can see it on me...🤣🤣🤣
I always watch how people stop too!

No envy from me as I ride a Harley. The comments I get don't seem to be based on envy but I could be wrong.
There are a group of assholes in every category. Everything has that group of arrogant dipshits that causes disruptions in life.
I was an asshole when I rode my honda and now that I ride a Harley I'm still an asshole . fkh

Most of them are.
I haven't found that.
I ride a 2018 Kawasaki Z900RS. Ive had so many guys on Harleys stop and check out my bike and tell me how much they like it. Some have even told me they had one back in the day. No negative response so far.
That's awesome. When I was at the used dealer I was looking at one of those, great looking bike!!!
The world is full of A-holes from all walks of life.
I've been an asshole from day one. I'm 72 years old and still standing. Some of us know how to be successful assholes. The rest of your jokers are just posers.
This is true!
🤣🤣🤣
I just picked up my first ever HD last week. I new 131 Low Rider S, the sound and power with the Bassani exhaust is amazing, it sounds angry and wants to be ridden hard and I can’t help it at this stage but ride it accordingly. I can see why people would think that 😂😂
I think you'd be doing everyone a disservice if you didn't ride it the way it should...👍👍🤣🤣

Probably about right.👍
I'm the same guy on my Harley that I am on my Triumph. Not sure I know, even after forty odd years what a " Harley Rider" is.
Yeah, it does seem to get tossed around. I'm sure I'm the same on all 3 brands of bikes I ride.
The Can Am spyder riders are the worst of the lot, they absolutely HATE Harley riders. How do I know this i owned one for a year. biggest mistake of my life
A neighbour owns one down the street, he hasn't tried to wave once. I wave at them if they wave to me, I'm not sure why, but I view them as different than a trike.
