What is my cost for the plastic two hole buttons?
hi, I have them on eBay , or just email me myerstechhammocklab@gmail.com
www.ebay.com/itm/285900446696?
$15 per button? If I'm paying $15 per button...oh my goodness...i can't possibly afford that.
I don't know how to do these complicated knots, but I would be willing to buy a couple of these fast shackles from you. Cost?
Can I buy two of those fast shackles off of you?.
for sure , message me via email or check out my eBay www.ebay.com/itm/284066033282?
How do you find normal underquilts (Hammockgear Incubator etc) working with the extra wide fabric? Is it a pain to position and keep them in place ?
@@nikolaykarakashov6324 Not an issue . The same companies use wide hammocks already. Just because the body of the hammock is wide ...does not mean the UQ is being pushed out wide. Your body position and hang set up determine the UQ location under your body.
Gonna make one of these. Thank you, Jeff, for putting this out there
Thank you for the support !
Thanks for this comparison! how do you only have one strand coming out of the diamond knots? (It looks nice) did you do a single strand diamond knot or tie it with two strands and then bury one into the other?
It has two strands , but then I buried one inside the other
What kind of plastic is it made of and how durable is it?
@@robertgorny5193 Polyester resin. Its very durable.
Greetings! Will you sell this rope as a material or already in finished products? Black Amsteel is really a very disappointing quality((
@@ОцеУсе yes both
@jeffmyers7062 Please write here a post on the sales page with the characteristics of this rope. Thank you
Bury is way to short here. This will lower the strength seriously.
@@andraxification it won't effect it for the intended purpose. The load is on the brummel.
I got to use your polyester/dyneema webbing suspension with the soft shackles last week. Freaking awesome. So much lighter and less bulky than the spider/poly straps I have been using. Thank you thank you.
Oh nice! Thanks for the work and shout out!
When are you selling the toggle hooks? Please let me know. Thanks
@@karenkmfentertainment5538 have em on ebay..

thanks!
FYI, they are called pinking shears. Great information.
Oh yes ! I forgot about that. Thank you
Awesome. I appreciate the informative video. Just made a set for my hammock stand. Easy as can be.
Oh nice !
The fabric and ykk zipper slider is from RSBTR ripstopbytheroll.com/
Great video. Just the sort of tutorial I like. Cheers from New Zealand
Thanks
Nice tutorial where did you get the zipper or did I miss when you said? Would like to see some more sewing tutorials I'm always looking to add to my repertoire.
The zipper is YKK Uretec form RSBTR or from Quest outfitters. I also have a stock of it if you need
You should do some sewing lessons for outdoorsmen
Can do ! What should I start with ?
Cool bag. Can we buy one from you, already made? I didn’t see one on your eBay site.
Hi , yes I do have them on eBay. www.ebay.com/itm/285755303187?
Ordered one. THANkS!
Very cool! 👍👍
Hey thanks!
Great sewing guide! 👍
Thank you!
I ponied up for an aquaquest and haven't regretted it once. It's a joy every time!
Nice
Where can I get these toggles?
email me for a discount or here www.ebay.com/itm/285428008500?
Hey Jeff, I remember seeing a video of yours where you took a single strand of dyneema and tied loops in it every few inches, essentially making a daisy chain with one strand instead of two. I can’t find the video. did you remove it?
let me check...
This one?
@@jeffmyers7062 I don’t see a link in your reply ?
sorry...here is it ua-cam.com/play/PLmEWaiosy12c8SLYXHoGmwZapiR5h5Qqg.html&si=dJxrw1EnQoAtNUi1
Its like in Art. Everybody says I could have drawn this picture. But they didn‘t. Jeff Myers did!
ha! Thanks!
What’s the advantage of a button knot shackle over a quick soft shackle. This seems much harder to make
Great question. It really depends on application. If you are towing or doing vehicle recovery....Or Just need the highest possible tensile , then the button knot is better. But with hammock suspension that is less of a concern.....
Nice, did you make that hook?
@@907-q7u I designed it and a place in Ukraine makes it for me from recycled Ti
Like it, but I can tie a taunt line hitch faster and only need one rope, all the while getting the same result.
@@ltj2527Very nice. Will a taut line hitch quick release and tension back up one handed? And hold two components? It's a great knot to use. But its "knot" everyone's prefference.
@@ltj2527 also with the 6 wrap prusic you have the adjustable v shape off the tree. Useful with a hammock/tarp setup
@@jeffmyers7062 it works very similarly as the one in the video. Not saying that knot isn’t a good knot. I might use it in some instances, but for peace of mind and security, I would rather use the taut line.
@@jeffmyers7062 I use the taut line for tents and tarps. For hammocks it has proven better to tie a bite in the rope and pull it back on itself with a cinch knot. I have found it can get much tighter and stay tight
very coool!
The yellow knot is a tautline hitch iirc
No it is a prussic knot. Used for hanging things on a rope or more commonly, for ascending a rope. It loosens like a taut line and locks up as well, but is tied differently.
@@TalonX_X not quite...litte different
Genius
@@specialopsgauteng5701 thanks
Clever! I like it
Thanks!
Do you taper your amsteel ends before making whoopie slings?
@@allourep yes
Ultimately it does not matter though...the whoopie large loop exit point has about 5 times the stress of the spliced loop...yet still holds up...
@@jeffmyers7062 I see. I haven’t tried making a whoopie sling yet but am going to try for the first time tomorrow. I saw someone mentioning tapering but I didn’t really quite fully understand how or what the purpose is.
makes pulling it through easier and it is for max strength
YOU are the Knott Genius !!!
thanks!
Nice! Why didn't I think of that?
thanks!
I know it's tongue in cheek. No that set-up looks dangerous depending on how far you're willing to fall. The sharp edge is a no no. Not sure what it's tied to. Is it merely a rock down there or some kind of rocky horn sticking out? I don't think a good night's rest is going to happen. ATB
@@edwardbenton4428 good advice
I still use your loops and soft toggles, but for most tensioners I just tie a Farramond friction hitch. Good stuff, keep it coming.
Nice. Those work good too!
Uh, so?
so , um , yeah. Like totally!
Neato!
Thanks!
