lover of life, cameras & art | they/them
a love letter to the fuji x-pro 2
over the last couple years, this fuji x-pro 2 has been my main driver to document the world. it's no surprise given how beautiful and capable this camera is! it is pretty ridiculous what the prices are of these cameras these days, but if you can get your hands on this one (or really any fuji camera) it is a gem.
all photos in this video were shot in RAW and then processed in lightroom.
let me know if you are also a lover (or not) of this camera below :)
thank you for watching ❤️

Your voice kind of reminds me of ‘Marcel the Shell with Shoes On’ and I mean that in a good way.
i haven't seen the movie! thanks for the comment, it made me laugh- thanks for watching!
How did I miss this! X-Pro 2 was peak, I hope if they do make the X-pro 4 more like an upgrade to this than the 3rd 🙈 Awesome shots! My fav is the birb at 4:21. The b-roll were just as juicy as the photos too 😌 Great to see more stuff from you as always!
thanks bon, you're the best! ☺i'm curious what upgrades they'll make to the x-pro 4, perhaps the x-trans 5 sensor and bringing back the regular lcd screen ahah- perfectly happy with the x-pro 2 though, it's great!
Jaycie, you have wisdom far beyond your years. I don't know if you are a professional photographer or if you are in-training to follow that profession - but it's clearly where your passion lies. Keep on composing your images and grow into your art.
wow, that is such a kind comment- thank you so much! i don't do photography professionally but it definitely is a big passion of mine :) will keep working at it!
Hey Jaycie, YOU AREN'T ALONE FEELING THAT WAY. And it's not a new phenomenon - I'm 66 and I felt that way most of my life. The world is an amazing place and the gift of life that we share is incredibly short. Embrace it, enjoy it and please find someone to share it with. THEN it all starts to make sense.
The best double exposure shot I’ve seen
lovely video, i own this camera since longtime and love it
Also. Great Video!
I have been thinking about getting me the 2 do to how it was built. but i dig the screen on the 3. Im confused haha
Do you have a preset?
I totally disagree on your comment on the bad low light performance.. that noisy handheld shot of the petrol station translates to f6.75 & ISO 18.000 in full frame terms If you consider this, I must say the quality is nothing else but impressive
I also shot with a x pro 2. Love my camera. Over up from the x100t. Btw your photos you displayed were excellent. Thank you for sharing.
I use this camera along with an X-Pro3 and the now sold XT-5. The X-Pro2 is my go-to camera with the 33mm, 18mm, and 90mm. Never getting rid of this camera along with the original X100.
Hi, what are all those film presets installed in lightroom? I have the RNI all films 4.
There’s something timeless about shooting with the Minolta X-700. I have one too, and I always enjoy seeing what others capture with it. Great work!
Great video! I have the same Minolta X-700, and I absolutely love using it. It’s such a joy to shoot with, and I always get great results. Keep up the awesome content!
lovely video i just went and changed the xt5 camera to the x-pro2 camera and i couldn't be happier and love photography again 😊(xt5 felt like a "toy" compared to x-pro2)
Those film packages on the wall... yeah, I did that too when I was a kid... 😉
Hey, What camera did you use to record the video with.
fuji x-t4!
you must be really tiny for the xpro2 to look like a medium format gfx 50r LOL
@@WatchesAndPhotography LOLL this made me laugh, yes i am very tiny 🙂↕️
That's not Agfa, it's rebranded Fuji.
I OWN THE XPRO 1 2 AND 3! I HAVE TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH YOUR CONS!! THE XPRO 2 IS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD IN LOW LIGHT AND THE AUTOFOCUS, ISN'T SLOW!!! NOW....IF YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT THE XPRO1, I WOULD AGREE! TO ANYONE READING THIS....I SAY GET THE XPRO2 - IS HIGHLY WORTH IT! I HONESTLY FEEL THAT THE XPRO2 IS THE BEST OF ALL 3!!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!💯💯💯
YEHHEEEE SOCK IT TO ME
I really enjoyed your video. It was a tough day and your video helped me relax a bit, thank you!
sorry to hear you've had a tough day, glad this video could bring comfort :) sending love
Great explanation, thank you for all the hard work!
I’ve moved on from my X-Pro 2, but I agree it’s one of the best digital camera for overall photography experience.
Could you share what the slide guitar song is?
I feel the same for fuji xpro3 and after i trade it for a lecia Q.
Hey super cool video, recently got a pro 2 and yeah, its absolutely incredible
XPro 2 makes beautyfuel videos after update. I use it for family and work and it works flawlessly.
You make a really important point about intentionality. A benefit and downside to digital is having every focal length from 16-500 and no real limitations but when you make a choice it’s easier to approach the film experience by slowing down and being decisive or choosing limitations that will force you to be creative. Also something we need to often relearn sometimes.
@@Chromatomic ironically limitation means freedom!
the only camera that beats this is the xpro3 with the xf 27mm pancake... also in dura black
Loved this! Seems like a great photography only focused camera!
I absolutely love this.. Very well done!!! 👏 👏 👏 The X-Pro series are the cameras that are very close to my heart, my love with Fujifilm started with the X-Pro1 back in 2012, unfortunately it was out of my reach for a first camera and I couldn’t justify paying sub-$2000 for a camera and I had just started.. Ironically though, I got the X-Pro1 after getting the X-Pro2 and 3, but until today, selling both X-Pro1 and 2 are my biggest regrets!!!!! Both are truly magical cameras!!!
3 batteries? I get over 1000 images on 3 batteries. That’s a weeks roadtrip.
i think this camera really struggles in extreme heat and also when using EVF + LCD, it sucks the battery so much!
@@jaycielinh I got the XT2 and find heat better than cold. I live in Sweden and New Zealand. There's alot of settings you can do in camera that saves battery. I only use the Lcd for low angle streetphotography or astrophotography.
I'm glad I found this video!
I've been shooting with the Xpro 2 since it came out today it's still my main stills camera and likely will be for a few more years to come. The low light issue you mentioned can now be fixed using Lightroom AI denoise. I'm shooting 12800 and printing 25x25 and to my eye it looks about iso 1600 so it's removing about 2-3 stops of noise without any negatives. I am mostly shooting BnW though so there might be some issues with colour idk.
@@E3Zombie wow! do you find it lowers any sharpness? that’s definitely cool, i’ll have to check that out
@@jaycielinh actually the opposite, using the “raw” details” and “denoise” together it’s making the images sharper and pulling more details out it’s not just fake over sharpening either it’s more real detail
I have the same combo and I love it too! What is that lens hood?
@@AldogContentNetwork that’s amazing! the lens hood is the Haoge LH-X35 Bayonet Square Metal Lens Hood :)) i got it off of amazon
@@jaycielinh thanks! The look of the camera is 50% of how it performs 😏
From one Xpro2 lover to another, thanks for a beautiful video.
great shots! and i agree, it's a very nice and fun camera, and now i regret selling mine
@@gettoana hope you can grab one again! it’s a treasure
I own and shoot with the xpro 3 and agree. People were shooting great work long before all the computer camera mega pixel stuff we have today.
I love my X-Pro2. I bought it when the X-Pro3 was announced and got one of the last new-in-the-box cameras, so I have been the only owner, which means no suprises. I never shoot video, so the stills quality is my only criteria and the X-Pro2 delivers.
The Fuji X-Pro 2 is one of the best cameras Fuji has ever made, in my opinion. I've owned mine for years and it's still my go-to camera. No camera is perfect, but if you can overlook its flaws, the X-Pro 2 captures amazing images. 24 megapixels are more than enough for most photographers, especially those who never print their work. You could easily print a 20" x 30" photo without any issues. This is definitely my forever camera. Thanks for sharing and great photo's
I'm a working photographer and my x trans-3 images have been sold in large prints for over 1000usd. I got no problem printing 1 meter prints. I even print 70x50cm from my XE1 with great results.
I could literally watch your videos all day 😍your shots are always amazing
thank you tay!! love seeing your channel grow too <3
hey! those photos were edited with the classic k14 last roll preset? they look so good!!!
@@ScreaminThunders thank you! it was just that example that was edited with the classic k14 preset! i use a variety of different ones, like the jamie windsor portra presets (modified) or editing with dehancer :)
Portra film stock is so so so beautiful in natural way, i loved the color it’s close to reality colors, thank you for sharing this amazing film
the rise of film prices genuinely makes me despondent. it feels as if the very thing that made me love photography is just inaccessible to me. i’ve been considering a move to digital but haven’t quite found the right camera. anyways, this is a lovely video.
i completely agree with you here, i shoot less and less film as prices go up and it makes me quite sad. but there are things to love about digital and i personally love editing my photos! i recommend any fuji camera if you ever want to switch over to digital, it's the most "affordable" film alternative (leicas are the closest but many of us don't have that kind of money to drop) anyways, thank you so much for watching!
It's funny that we say "the auto focus is slow" when in perspective, pretty much it never exist during the history of photography, and in reality is extremely fast.
that's a good perspective! never thought about it like that, i think i always think back to when photographers would zone focus and that would be "faster" than any AF (and the AF in this camera is much slower than newer ones out there)
Her voice is like female version of Matt Osborne's
Really enjoyed hearing your love for the camera without it having anything to do with specs, because you know what matters.
Oh man, this is making me wanna get one so bad 😅 feels like a great substitute when i dont feel like growing broke shooting film...
do you mind if I ask what simulation or preset you are using for your video. It looks like Kodak but something different in there
@@plutoX1982 this video was graded with cineprint 35!
